I had the pleasure of working at Quassy for over 30 years. I started working as a dish washer in the restaurant for a few weeks, but that didn't work out, and I wound up operating and taking care of the original Merry-go-round for the next 30 years. I even took care of some of the other rides as the years went by. I lived at the park during the summer months.
I had a room behind the old Game stands. It burned down in later years, and was replaced with a new stand.
My Favorite ride at the park was the original Peddle boats. The original ones are all gone now, and have been replaced with newer Aluminum and Fiberglass models. The Park even had a shooting gallery at one time. It was closed because of the high cost of insurance. I wound up owning one of the original gallery Winchester .22 cal pump guns given to Me by the parks owner and general manager at the time, the Late George Frantzis Sr. The Best Boss I ever had.
The Restaurant had the best meals. they served Greek dishes, along with regular fare when I worked there.
Most of the people I worked with, and some of the the original owners are gone now, but the park is still Family owned by the Frantzis Family.
They still have the best prices around, and the Best swimming area with it's Spring fed lake. The only thing that bothers Me is the addition of some of the newer thrill rides. It used to be basically a Family Park, with a beautiful Picnic grove, but a large chunk of it is gone now. Replaced by some of the newer rides. The Park had one of the best Roller-skating rinks around, but it is now a giant arcade. They have added newer rides to attract a more thrill seeking clientele. But regardless, Quassy will always be My favorite park.
I'm 70 now and retired from Quassy and the Radio station I worked for. I wish I could go back to the early 60's when I first started to work there. It was really a Fun place to work. I plan to go back a few times just to reminisce about the "Good Old Days." Have some fun! Spend a day at Quassy. Cheers! "Carousel Charlie" AKA, the "NiteOwl" on local Radio.

To me, Quassy isn't the greatest one day trip. It offers a low amount of quality rides for those who like exciting rides. It could be much much cleaner. It is a good park for little kids, because the rides are much more appealing to the younger ages. I would say to spend the extra money and spend your day at a different amusement park.

You get the option of paying per ride, or getting a ride braclett. You can just go to walk around with the kids and not have to pay an entrance fee (other than the parking). I think that the rides and the food could use some updating. New waterplay area is nice.

We used to go to Quassy every weekend when I was a kid. A great place to let older kids go off on there own in the park while mom lays on the beach. It's a great place for a picnic and rides. I personally love the carousel.

The best thing about Quassy is you don't have to pay to watch. Parents can bring kids that are old enough to ride the rides themselves but who can't go alone and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Quassy features lots of special times that make it much more affordable than the big parks. The lake and water park are also a big draw along with the picnic area.

I grew up on quassy and have brought my kids up on it also. They live right next to Compounce but I still took them there till this past year its more geared towards the younger kids. Totaly afordable to all income levels. Less than 20 a person regular price. Ask about 25 cent night and carload nights.

It is really nice to have a park nearby. This one is for the middle school age kids. I have found that there wasn't too much for the 2 to 3 year olds. Saturation station is great when it is hot for all of the kids!

Very good for young children. Nice to have one close by. Would go again with my children. Price not too bad for the park. Clean and reputable. Owned and operated by same family for years.

I think this park is great for a family day out. It is not to big and the lines are very short. The beach is wonderful along with the water slides. The prices a very good. The whole family can come out to the park and enjoy the day with out going broke. The food is very good at the resturante. The whole family can also go out ON the lake in the Quassy Queen boat ride.

There are only 11 "trolley parks" still operating in the nation, and Quassy Amusement Park on Lake Quassapaug in is one of them. A large park, had a new dance hall built before the depression. Today, the structure still stands and it serves as a redemption arcade and is the oldest building in the park. Boat rides on the lake a favorite of guests. The park also has a variety of other family rides such as the Tilt-A-Whirl, Saturn 6, Music Fest, Paratrooper and bumper cars. There are more than two dozen rides and attractions currently in the park. Guests enjoy Quassy Beach and the relaxation offered at this historic park. It does not have as much to do as many parks, but has some traditional aspects that are not available at many amusements.

Quassy Amusement park is terrific for families. They have tons of rides and is perfect for summer camps too!

Their latest attraction, Saturation Station, is a compliment to the park as it adds a way to get wet in the park featuring over 30 new attractions in this "station".

And, what theme park would be complete without the usual bumper cars, roller coasters and fried dough!

Quassy also has coupons and discounts which are offered throughout the season. During the summertime, it's a favorite spot for summer camps, so be prepared for a long wait for parking and attractions.

Generally it costs a little less than $20 (without a discount admission ticket) for the rides, so it is very affordable for a day of fun.

If you are looking for a low key, loaded with kiddie rides park this is it. They run great specials where you can get a car load in for 10 bucks. They have tons of rides that my pre schoolers really enjoyed without the hassle of dealing with the older set. Train rides, boat rides and a kiddie coaster are all there as well as some water rides. We had taken them to Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT and while that was a very nice park, it was definitely geared towards the older kids.

MY KIDS LOVE THIS PLACE! PARK IS A LITTLE OLDER SO IT IS NOT AS "SHINY" BUT STILL A LOT OF FUN. MANY RIDES FOR LITTLE ONES. LARGE ARCADE AREA. CHECK OUT THE SATURATION STATION WHERE A HUGE BUCKET DUMPS OVER AND SPRINKLERS SOAK KIDS ON A HOT DAY. THERE IS A SMALL BEACH AREA. GREAT CARNIVAL FOOD LIKE FRIED DOUGH, COTTON CNADY & CANDY APPLES. ASK ABOUT $10.00 CAR LOAD NIGHT. MANY OTHER INCENTIVES OFFERED THROUGHOUT SEASON. LARGE PARKING LOT.

This is an older scaled down amusement park. It has many 'kiddie' rides such as the car and boats that go round and round. There are also a few adult rides. Quassy charges $5 for parking, but does not charge an admission fee. You can walk right in and buy tickets for only the rides you want to go on. They also offer many specials such as quarter Fridays, where every ride is a quarter after 5 on Fridays. The rides themselves are quite old and dirty, but still lots of fun. There are lots of benches to take a rest and several picnic areas to eat. You are allowed to bring in your own food and there are concession stands there.
