Having a local hardware store around the corner from me was one of the reasons I decided to rent an apartment in Mt Pleasant. I'm happy to report that Pfeiffers is just as good as I'd hoped. It's one of the long narrow stores with stuff crammed into every nook and cranny from floor to ceiling. The staff are very laidback and always helpful. They have a good selection of the usual suspects: home improvement supplies, some garden stuff, tools, and random but useful house items. I found air conditioner filters and knobs for my dresser here. My only complaint is their garden section is pretty skimpy. They so sell some seedlings and flower during spring and summer.

Business Response:

Glad you came in to visit and that you enjoyed working with our staff! It's tough to carry a lot of different items in such a small space, but we can get almost everything you need for your garden with some advance notice. This Spring, drop by the store and tell us what you need on a Monday or a Tuesday, and we'll have it ready for you on Friday. With a little advance planning, you can patronize a local store, get exactly what you want, and stay on budget. Again, thanks for visiting. Come back and see us soon.

Message from Old School Hardware

We hope you'll come visit our store and experience our great customer service and the charm of our packed store. You might see a review or two out there that our prices are higher than the big boxes... that might be true on a couple of items, but you'll also see that our prices are pretty competitive on many items the big-boxes think they can sneak into your cart. Need to buy a screw and a bolt? Some stores will make you buy a package of 4 for a $1. We'll let you buy 1 for $.25.

Our goal is to as many of your hardware, general, and city-living needs as we can. We're willing to listen to what you need and help you get it. Come experience the difference.
