Once in awhile you run across a restaurant that you just want to tell the world about. Mourayo is one of those places.

Located in the Dupont Circle area of DC, this is a very small, intimate place. As soon as you enter you are greeted with a big smile by someone in the cutest nautical outfit ever. It goes uphill from there.

The service is exemplary, friendly yet professional. That's a hard line to walk but this staff does a great job of it.

Their specialty is Greek food, with an emphasis on seafood. Absolutely do try their Fish of the Day in Salt. they take the whole fish and bury it in rock salt to cook. This dish takes 30 minutes, but that's ok. Just get some appetizers while you wait. When it's ready, it is brought to your clothed table and broken out of the salt, brushed with a flavored oil, and then skinned and cut and placed on your plate. This dish is pure heaven. And it'll only run you $22.

My other recommendation is the Kotopoulo me Hilopites Corfu for $14.95. This is Greek egg noodles covered with the most wonderfully subtle wine sauce and chunkc of chicken breast. Mmmm mmm good.

5 stars here. Highly recommended.

PROS: Excellent food and service
CONS: Tables a bit close together
