I am in my second year as a graduate student at GW, and overall this experience has been great. I have learned a great deal, and am confident I will benefit career-wise from my studies.
GW is located in Foggy Bottom, a great neighborhood easily accessible by Metro (although my particular building isn't very close to a stop). Being in DC, its Elliott School of International Affairs attracts great minds from the IR community to teach, either as professors or adjuncts. Tuition is high, since it's a private university, but the school offers fellowships, work study, scholarships and other financial aid. The library is large, plenty of books and space to study. There are at least 4 Starbucks right on campus if you need caffeine!
Since this is an urban campus, you need to be cautious walking around at night, but with the World Bank, IMF, and White House just blocks away, security is fairly readily available.
Overall, a great educational experience, if you can swing the cost!

I got a degree here and got a great job if it was not for this school I do not know what or where I would be. I learned from the best here. I did not pay alot either thanks to scholorships.

I attended The George Washington University and loved every minute of it. It is an urban campus that spans 6 city blocks. The professors are very supportive, and it is easy to get in touch with them. The Gelman Library is terrific. The theatre in the Marvin Center is outstanding. GW is located right in the heard of DC, and that in itself provides an amazing experience to any student.

PROS: great school, diverse, lots to do, awesome location
CONS: "urban" campus, can be overwhelming at times
