I stopped into Hair Cuttery for the first time last week. The person who greeted me was not in need of my business at all and to prove it to me, she was rude, uninterested and did not care a whit whether I stayed or went. This week I still need a haircut. Here??s some advice Hair Cuttery: If you are going to hire someone to meet your customers and book appointments?.. Oh.. forget it. You know this, and you still hired her, so good luck.
The Hair Cuttery is where I always get my hair cut. I have never experienced a rude cashier and, if I did, it would never be a good reason to stop going there. The best stylist for men is Ray, because he always does a perfect job and does better than any upscale salon I have been to in the past. For this reason, you usually have to wait to get to see him. And the price, just $18 plus tip, is a bargain in DC.
I have been going to this salon for years as they have outstanding stylists. Over the years their cashier receptionists have had much to desire, my last visit was the worst as far as customer service. The receptionist was rude and obnoxious. With good conscious, I will not be using their services anymore - no one has to put up with bad treatment just to get a good hairdo!!!!
On a scale from 1-10, I would give this Hair Cuttery a 5.9. I have gone to this place twice, and both times, they cut my hair unevenly. When I told the stylist my hair was uneven, she expected me to tell her which side needed to be cut more. She didn't look at my hair to see if I was correct, rather she just kept cutting. I wasn't expecting 5 star service, but I did expect them to be able to cut hair evenly.
The Hair Cuttery is great for a quick cheap cut. It's not going to be a designer hair-do, so if you have a really specific request or special needs (really curly hair or whatever) I wouldn't recommend this place. Not all of the stylists speak English well, so be sure your stylist understands what you want before the cut begins. The best part is the walk-in service. They've always taken me within 10 minutes. The second best part is the price- about $20 for a cut and blowdry!
I love the hair cuttery because I didn't have to wait forever for my turn. I tried out a stylist name Lavonda. She did a wonderful job with my hair for a fraction of the price I would pay at my regular salon. She trimmed my hair with precision and every piece is even.
