I haven't tasted any of their other products, but the donuts are off the hook. They are fresh and big and you can truly taste the quality. Delicious.

The baked goods are average at best, but the service is dead awful! Every time I have gone there they act as if they would rather be anywhere else but there. Don't ever think of getting your wedding or specialized cake here. I chose Heller's because it's a local bakery and I want to support local and small business. I had a terrible experience getting my wedding cake at Heller's and ended up having a friend make my wedding cake. Heller's not only kept me waiting for over 45 minutes for a cake tasting that I made reservations for 2 weeks in advance, they never made the cake for the tasting and had to whip something up quick in the back while my family and I waited. What they made wasn't at all what I requested and didn't even taste that good. Then they made up for it a week later by baking me a cake for free, but it still wasn't good or what I expected. Finally when I called to talk about the cake, they didn't even have any record of my information and had to right it all down again. That's when I went with someone else, less then a month until the wedding.

Heller's Bakery has been around forever--their sign says since 1928. It's changed owners a couple times since I've lived around the corner but they still have the best doughnuts around. I'm a big fan of the maple doughnuts since they're so hard to find. The apple fritters are fabulous too and enormous! They have a huge pastries selection but they're not usually fresh and can be disappointing. I stick with doughnuts and bagels, both of which are made fresh daily. I've also bought bread there I've been happy with. Heller's a nice place to have breakfast and it's always busy in the morning. They're open in the afternoons too but the doughnuts are usually dry by then and many varieties are sold out.
