I wanted to do the Beauty Care program here but after reading the reviews, I am very sure that I won't be joining. As far as getting a "diploma" for the course, anybody can print a diploma. Not impressed.

Beware! They are not accredited. Your better off going and gettin your GED. And college? Forget about it! Because I have had a very hard time getting anywhere. This is the worst money you can spend. If your thinking about attending you might as well throw your money into a blender! It is the same thing. I just wrote to the BBB on them.

I recently tried to enroll in there veterinary assisting course & paid the $20.00 enrollment fee to have them take the money & sent me nothing. They have refused to respond by email to me & are refusing to except the enrollment. They have completely refused to refund the money. They have tried to accuse me of being in there school in numerous courses which is totally untrue because i had never heard of stratford before this. I filed a BBB claim on them & stratford doesn't even want to respond to BBB.
Beware of Stratford Career institute, they will take your money & totally rip you off! Some say they are legit,i know from experience & so does the BBB they are Not legit.

Wow I really hope that all these reviews I have read is wrong. I have just completed my high school course with startford. I am really wanting to further my education by going to college. I have had one college tell me that they cant except me due to having no credits. For the people on here that says they went on to college can you please tell me what the college is called. Yes I feel as if I just got screwed out of money and my time. Im really hoping this is wrong. I have six children and a single mother with no help from their father or from the state. i work two jobs to pay my bills and take care of my kids. I tought I would give this a try because I could do it in my spare time and really needed to finish my high schooling and get my diploma. Please if anyone knows where I can further my education and not get ripped off please let me know. Im gonna give my email so who ever has info on this can email it to me or you can post it here. teresarick07@yahoo.com Thank you and any info will greatly be appreciated. God Bless you all !!!!

when you sign up for a course at SCI, they send you a package of information along with the tuition fee. The rest lies in your own hands, whether or not you want to go forward with a career change. those of you who say that this school is a scam, it is not. they want to help you help yourself with your future. if you really want a career change, then you are willing to put in 100% of your effort to acheive, if your only willing to give 10%, its not their problem you dont succeed, its yours. Four years ago i quit my job to go to school full time to become a machiniste.(being a female in a male dominated field was hard, but because i wanted it i gave my 100%), i graduated, worked two years in the male-dominated field, then realized it wasnt for me. After, i signed up for SCI because i didnt want to spend time in a classroom again.studying at home was great because i could work at the same time. Just three months after i signed up, i completed my interior decorating course. even though i am not accredited, (which SCI clearly states that their school is not accredited), i now own my own business, work for myself, on my own time, at my price! what more could someone ask for. i completely recomend SCI as a career change, it changed mine. Give them 100% and they'll do the same! Good luck to all of you considering SCI correspondance course!

I'm almost done my business managment program, and I just enrolled in the drug and alcohol treatment specialist program.... I find it funny how people call this a scam or a rip off!!! I think its everything I expected!!! i'm not using it to further my education or score a good job... i'm using it to prove I studied in the fields I listed in order to open an addictions treatment center... I know I will not be able to counsel people with addictions but I will have the knowledge to be the counselors boss!!!! its all how you look at it!! just make sure you read the fine print! For Example did you seriously really think you could study Child Psychology so quick from them and become a Psychologist? something like that takes years and dedication... anyways I think SCI is awesome if you know how to use it right in life!!! sounds like most of you are looking for an easy cheep way!!! well there is no such thing!!

I enrolled on of Stratford's classed and after recieving the second package I decided I didn't want to take the course so I cancelled and I asked them at that time if I owed anything so I could take care of it then and was told no. But a few weeks later I recieve a collections letter stating I owed $82 so I called them and told them I didn't appreciate being sent to a collections agency without giving me an opporturnity to take care of this before hand. I paid the bill and then found out later that it had also been put on my credit report with Transunion. These people are ruthless and will mess up your credit and not think twice about it. NEVER EVER USE STRATFORD CAREER INSTITUTE!!!!!!!!! Hope I made myself clear.

Stratford Career Institue is a joke. Do not waste your time or money. Don't be sucked in by the relatively "low-ish" price. A diploma from them will get you about as far as one you bought from the dollar store. Staff is friendly until you have a complaint, and the material they send you is also a joke. They guaruntee you a refund within 14 days, but they fight you tooth and nail to get it.

I just enrolled in Stratford Career Instite , They are pretty good so far but it has to be understood the are a career training school not a college.Im in the veterinary Assistant program . I checked out all the facts, they meet the requiements needed. Not to get a job but the training that is needed to challege the state board for me to become certifide in my field. Not all programs work that way and you have to know what your getting into. I plane to continue my education in this field . And I wish everyone well in you Journey of you education.

I just finished my course of Psicology/Social work. I can say that distance learning is not for everybody; if you have no discipline and dedication, you wont be succesful.
When I decided to enroll with SCI, I knew what I was doing: I'm a self starter student; so I wasn't specting false promises because I knew what a career diploma means; and of course they explain in all descriptions they provide; and they clarify that finding jobs is not their mission, because that depends of each individual.
Anybody can even have a university degree, but if they gain the title without learning, just to have a piece of paper for finding jobs purposes only, I'm positively sure that they going to fail.
In my experience, That course gave me a quality knowledge in the field of Psicology and social work; The text books are designed specifically for the purpose of the course, and the autors are experienced professors of famous Universities. That means that the school is not something casual; but they are doing what they supose to do. Nothing comes by magic action; all requires special and personal effort to succed. I don't know about other courses, because this is my field, and I'm happy with what I learned: I'm actually a succesful counselor; and part of my knowledge was acquired from Stratford Career Institute.

Stratford is not a scam. They provide career training courses to help people get a job or improve in their current job. They are not currently accredited, but they never claim to be. Their courses are informative and can be really helpful. As with any school, you should do your research before you enroll. Getting an education on any level is a good thing.

SCAM Beware! This is a business, not a school! A business with practices designed to "trick" under-educated, trusting, vulnerable people, especially, new immigrants, eager to advance their education in the United States. For those people who may have hopes of obtaining an American, secondary school diploma that represents the academic success required for entry into an American community college, please be certain any program you register for and pay your money to, is accredited. First, learn about the GED program in your community. GED programs are often free or available at nominal cost, not the hundreds of dollars you are required to pay to Stratford Career Institute.
The high school "diploma" they award you is WORTHLESS! I too, wish I could give this business "0" stars. Also, I have every intention of contacting the State of Vermont Attorney General's Office. See how this company has manipulated their online advertising by placing a high number of favorable reviews that, like their high school diploma, are fake and part of this company's SCAM.
Addendum: Within 2 short hours of my posting my honest and experienced review, a 5 star post was placed above mine. I question its authenticity.Yes, correct! DO YOUR RESEARCH AVOID Stratford Career Institute for an ACCREDITED high school diploma!

This institute is a RIP off!!! They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any organization. They don't deliver on promises. The materials they sent me for a computer programming course was introductory computer material I learned in High School. I returned the materials within a couple week of receiving it, and they charged me over $130 restocking fee even though the initial sales rep told me I could review the materials and return them if I wasn't satisfied. DO NOT get sucked into their scam like I did. Look at an American School that will actually give you a diploma you can do something with.

I completed 3 courses which all related to Criminal Justice. During that course of studies, my relationship with SCI is amiable, as long as I pay my tuition monthly and payment in full to receiving my 3 Diplomas. Receiving a Diploma means meeting tuition payments, taking the time to study and submit examinations. That Diplomas on the walls look darn impressive. It does not promise me jobs but the impressive wares depicting me who loves continuing learning. The course completion describe me being motivated individual willing to meet study and financial responsibilities.
SCI is business to make money. SCI is not a student daycare entity. Most Diplomas are not passports to jobs. I will expand that comments later. Read the SCI fine prints before submitting decision and good money to SCI's business dynamics that provide only books to theorem learning and not providing the hands-on experience on sites training.
Here's the facts: In order to qualify for jobs in Canada, ones must attend classroom hours and on sites hands-on training in 4-5 years Apprenticeships Training or 6-12 months Technical Colleges or Private Schools. Studies meeting three levels of Canadian Government jurisdictions to Federal, Provincial and Municipal certification requirements. The Trades 'Red Seal' Certification or Provincial Qualification Certificate. Most SCI courses don't meet Canadian Industry, Skills and Education Inter-Provincial Trades Certification Standards.
I read somewhere, a student enrolled a SCI High School Diploma. This maybe a source to build dry runs perspectives to experience exams. But Provincial High Schools in Canada have their own mock tests to prepare students to write the actual Canadian Provincial Government High School or GED exams to qualify Certification.
Sorry, SCI High School Diploma doesn't make the cut to entrance recognition to accreditation Career Day Schools, university or College education.
Cheers.

This school has done everything that they have promised and have delivered the materials on time with the appropriate books and materials to go along with it. There are othere schools that teach the wrong things to there students and encourage them to act on it which makes them criminals and thieves.......with this school you are able to learn at your own pace and also learn the real law while working on the degree and being able to see the wrongs and rights out in the field itself......You are literally killing two birds with one stone.......Getting the certifications and getting the Experience........that i8s my Expert Evaluation from Stating the Facts.
Also you are able to take this anywhere in the world with you and it sticks with you for life..............
Life Time Membership.........
Also I am studying along with some of the top students in the country and they all agree ....The courses are the same just in a simplistic and compact manner.....
Book Knowledge and Street Knowledge............
..........Does Make a Difference..........

I would pass by, try to go to an accredited college You need at least a two year Associate Degree to get a job now. Good luck in your endeavors. As for this Career Training Center, it is unaccredited.
Don't do it. Go to an accredited school. Why would pay for a
diploma paper that is not accredited. I would give them a zero. Getting an education is a wonderful gift in life. . This place sucks. Believe me. I don't believe that they give your deposits back to you. Buyer Beware. You send in your money, you get nothing.
