The best meal I had in DC!
I had the Chilean sea bass that sat in a tomato base sauce that turn out to be sensational. My wife had the Sezhwan beef which was also sensational.
We started off with crab California rolls that were fresh and tasty.
The service was good.

I only wish I could find a Raku back here in San Jose

I really like this place a lot. The food is fresh and oh so tasty. I particularly like all their noodle dishes, their sushi, and seaweed salad. If you come at peak times expect to wait a little bit. As an early spring or fall treat, sit outside and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city.

PROS: Practically next to Dupont Circle Metro

The food is packed with so much flavor. I got tom yum type noodles that were spicy and sour. Almost too flavorful. Prices are moderate. I'd consider this place an ok place to go to meet up with people, not a place to enjoy distinctive cuisine. Portions were a bit small.

PROS: Lots of flavor
CONS: Impersonal atmosphere

Although there are lots of asian fusion restaurants around now, Raku stands out as a flavorful place to have a variety of thai-esque and sushi dishes. I prefer the big plates, but you can also order tapas-style and share many little dishes. If you're looking for a deal, it's very possible to eat under $15. Plan on waiting if you come at peak times, though.
