I came to Katrina following a friend's recommendation...and it was one of the best decisions I have made!!!! I came to Katrina for her painless Brazilian wax, and while I believe that the words waxing and painless should never go in the same sentence together, Katrina provides the closest thing to it!!! She is fast and talks you through the whole thing!!!!

I came to D.C. to visit my best friend for my birthday and she set me up for a "quick wax" that she is turning all of her friends on to. One by one she's reeling us in for Karina, at first I felt like I was set up. But, after experiencing the "quick wax" with Karina I realized that I have to come back. I am coming back next month for sure and I am currently working the next couple of times that I will visit Karina. Obviously she is a true asset in the D.C. area because I came from Ohio and will be making that trip back to Karina for my necessary female maintenance. Karina will definitely put sexy back into your vocabulary.

Recently relocated from San Francisco I was panicked about finding the right person to handle my waxing needs. Karina is a godsend. She's quick. She's painless. She's attentive and gets the job done. I thought I had found the perfect esthetician in San Francsico but Karina tops them all.

If you're looking for a pain free Brazilian this is your girl. She's a miracle worker with brows too!

DO NOT get a bikini wax from this salon. I had a wax prior to an important event and had to return for a second, yet unsuccessful, wax because no hair had been removed - it was simply ripped off at the root and left to ingrow just prior to my event. The spa tech didn't even use powder on my skin before beginning the service, ripping more skin from my body than anything else. I REPEAT - DO NOT USE THIS SPA!

On my first visit to Aveda Georgetown, I had requested a facial. I was placed with Karina Gutierrez and truly, it was an answered prayer. Karina is an amazing Esthetician and she cares! With so much horrible customer service around it is hard to find someone who actually cares about your situation. The first thing I noticed about Karina is how much attention she gave to my skin, and how detailed she is during the facial. I realized right away that taking good care of my skin was her priority. At the same time she is friendly, warm, pampering, prompt, and always professional. She listens to me and educates me regarding my particular skin.

My facials with Karina are my personal gift to myself. I am a Registered Nurse, and my work can be quite stressful and physically demanding. With Karina I know I am getting my money's worth and my time is well spent. I can just relax and enjoy my "me time". I would advise anyone wanting a great facial or waxing with someone who does an excellent job and cares, do not cheat yourself, SEE KARINA GUTIERREZ AT AVEDA GEORGETOWN.
I am truly happy and my skin is happy too!

I recieved a brazilian wax and a full leg wax from Karina. This woman is phenomenal. Her work is outstanding. She is personable, professional, talented and committed to providing excellent services. My experience with her was relatively painless and very fast, and I am incredibly happy with the results. Incredibly happy doesn't even do justice to how pleased I am, actually. I was nervous and going to back out of the treatment, but Karina assuaged my fears and concerns immediately and I am now a devotee of her services. I will remain a committed client so long as I am in the Washington, D.C. area.

If you are on the fence, go see Karina. You will not regret it.

After moving here from NYC, I freaked out because I did not even know where to start to look for a good salon..but I found it at Aveda Georgetown. Two words for you ....KARINA GUTIERREZ. Karina is by far, the best around. Karina is not only professional and highly talented, but she is extremely personable and gets the job done....WELL & QUICK. She does waxing and facials. I have been going to Karina for about a year now for brazilians, eyebrows, lip, arm and even facials...and I love her work! My friends go to her now too. For those of you who are just settling into the DC area I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed if you choose AVEDA Georgetown/ Karina G. Karina is generally booked most of the convenient times, so I would recommend making appts about 3-5 days ahead of time. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!

I had a facial here in March 2007. The facial was probably one of the best I've ever had. But my experience waiting for my facial sucked. Far from being pampered from the minute I walked through the door, I was ignored.

The salon doesn't have a nice "serenity" room to help set the mood. So when I checked in, I was forced to wander around the sales area in the front to look at their merchandise for more than 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the hair stylists were taking a break nearby and were just chatting away at their stations. No one came out to offer me a seat or a cup of tea or a magazine. Nothing. It was very awkward standing there and being ignored. I actually thought they forgot about me.

By the time, my anesthetician came to get me, I was just grateful that someone was speaking to me. LIke I said, my facial was awesome. I just wish the woman worked someplace else, because I know I will never go back there again.

The Aveda in Georgetown is a great place to go. I have had haircuts, massages and facials here. The massages are extremely relaxing, just be sure you are specific with your masseuse so they know exactly what you want. The facial is excellent and the hair cut is always good.

This is a very nice place to go to pamper yourself.

I really enjoyed the massage I got here. The staff was professional and courteous and the massage was great! They do aromatherapy which was a nice added bonus. I felt amazing afterwards.

I had gone since 8th grade - about 12 years - without having my hair cut. After a growing frustration with it, I decided one day that I must do something, so I called up Aveda Georgetown and went in.

I couldn't be happier.

I saw Filipe, and he was great. Without even asking he gave me a perfect cut and highlights. I have gone back there every 3 months, and I always come out feeling great.

As with most great salons, it's a bit pricey, but well worth it. A cut is $80 and highlights about $120. I usually spend $200 without the tip at each visit.
