This was the greatest little shop, which sadly closed last month (April 2009). Does anyone know if it moved somewhere? I guess Union Station charges rents that are too high in this recession.

I have been going there for years, since I started working nearby in 2001. I always found the perfect card there, and they constantly got new and interesting cards. Also had great Christmas and other holiday cards. The staff and owners were quiet, but very nice and polite and helpful.

The Hallmark/grocery store card selection is terrible - I feel like a fool picking up card after card, and most are awful. And they keep the same lame joke cards for years on end. I need to find a new shop.

Every time I go into the store I feel like I've connected with the best environment to shop - a place where ideas are suggested and not forced.
Wonderful customer service, great diversity of ideas, great location. Bottom line, I love the place.

I was not impressed with this shop located in the Union Station in DC. It was not easy to naviagate the shop, there wasn't much in the shop and the staff was impersonal.

This was my second time visiting DC and I couldnt resist going back to this little charm. It is nestled in the fabulous Union Station and has many unique items from post cards, keepsakes to items with patriotic notations.

The staff was not really helpful or friendly the last time I visited maybe because they were busy organizing displays. But I would recommend any visitor to stop here to check out all the goodies.

well i was visiting Washington, DC for the pro-life march this past weekend with my school. me and my friends Jordan, Vanda and Rachel were walking around union station and all the people in the stores were very ignorant. in a couple stores the workers were pro-choice and were making rude remarks about us being pro-life. but when we visited paper trail the two ladies were so nice. and i told them that they were the only nice workers in the whole place. and we got our picture taken with them. = )

Paper Trail was one of the many shops I couldn't resist ducking into while in Union Station - even from the window outside the store, I counted no less than a dozen things I wanted to take home with me. This cute little store has everything from greeting cards and stationery to stickers, scrapbook paper and supplies. From country motifs to trendy, modern designs, Paper Trail truly had all the bases covered.

The sales staff was very friendly during my (much too brief) visit, and I could honestly have spent hours in this store, although it was rather small. Lack of space did not make it crowded, however - everything was very neatly organized to maximize space. I can't wait to visit again soon - hopefully with more time to shop.

PROS: Adorable merchandise; wide variety available; friendly staff.
CONS: N/A
