Staying the Quincy Hotel I ordered a delivery of fried calamari and lasagne. At best, it arrived luke warm, there was no cutlery, and the calamari was far too salty. The lasagne portion was also stingy. How did this restaurant gain such good reviews? Extremely dissapointing, to put it mildy.

I started going to Luigis over 50 years ago, moved out of DC in 1968 and always stopped in for a Luigis pizza when I came back to DC. Friday night I was there with family and friends. Something changed. The pizza is no longer memorable. Whoever is handling food quality control at Luigis needs to go back to the original recipe.

I ate a Luigi's this week and the food was horrible. The sauce tasted like Ragu, and everything about the pizza was bad (greasy cheese, terrible dough). They use the same sauce for all dishes. If you know anything about good italian food do not eat here. The only good thing was the staff, they were very nice.

We walked everywhere looking for a place to eat. This was our first time in DC. The chicken in white wine was fabulous and my husband ordered the veal and he loved it. The place doesn't look fancy but the food is unbelievable and it is priced fair. The chicken dish was around 17 and the veal was around 18. I saw a lot of people with the pizza and that looked delicious.I would definitely eat there again.

This place is famous for a reason. They are a traditional Italian place with a wonderful selection of toppings for your pizza. They do a great job on the pizza and pasta dishes. We always try to eat here when in the area.

I realize a review hasn't been written in 3 years, but I went to this place last night and it was HORRIBLE. The place looked shotty, the floor wasn't clean and there was only one waitress. The menus needed cleaning and the lights were even dim as they usually are. On the the food -- HORRIBLE. I could mave made much better at home. I'm not sure if there is new management or if they are just in a decline - but this place is bad. I was hoping for a romantic evening and instead I sent my plate back and my boyfriend was disgusted by his food.

This is an amazing restaurant. It is sort of small, two levels, but is capable of holding large (20+) parties. It is by far, the best italian food I have had in DC. The best part about it is that almost all of the entrees range between $10-$16. They also have a pretty decent wine selection, and it's great in the summertime when you can eat ouside on the patio. Definitely a must-eat.

Luigi's is located on 19th Street, just a short walk from 2 different Metro stops. The food is phenomenal and very low priced. The ambiance is terrific! If you're looking for a very casual place to go for an awesome dinner, definitely go to Luigi's. It gets VERY crowded in the evening, so be prepared for a wait. They don't take reservations. Unfortunately, there isn't any parking lot, so you'll have to deal with on-street parking.
PROS: awesome food, great prices, terrific staff
CONS: no parking

Luigi's has been around for what seems like forever. Back when my parents were dating, they used to frequent here. Throughout my childhood, I can remember coming to Luigi's. And now, I take my husband here. The restuarant and menu have changed little over the years. Luigi's is known for the pizza, but I recommend you try the pasta (my personal favorite is the seashell alla partenopea). The afternoons are good for business lunches, the evenings are perfect for a romantic dinner. Luigi's is true DC treat.
Pros: Good location, Inexpensive, Great food
Cons: Can get crowded
