Mary Beth ALder is amazing. She's on Bruce's staff and I've been going to her for a couple of years now. She is thorough in her exams, listens and cares about her patients' general well being. Not only is she talented in the healthcare world, she has a fantastic personality. She is thoughtful and never makes you feel embarrassed or out of place. I have been recommending her to all of my coworkers and so far about 8 of us go to her. She's an absolute dream. I'll be going to her for as long as I can!
i have never been to a doctor where there is a dog but i have to say, it was the most surprisingly pleasant experience i have ever had. dr. r has a golden retriever named max who is apparently the sweetest thing in the world. i am not really a dog person but i think i may become one or i might have to steal max... kidding. the office was crazy busy i guess from so many people being sick from the flu. yet everyone was smiling, courteous, answering the phones that were ringing off the hook. there was candy in very cool bowls on the counter, very nice upbeat music playing, a small flat screen tv playing cnn on mute and another flat screen tv sharing helpful medicval facts. very cool and informative. i loved my experience. dr r was very busy yet he made me feel like i was his sole focus for the time he was with me which was substantial. i am very lucky he opened his panel for me. i heard he wasn't taking patients any longer. many of my friends and coworkers see him and now i see why. try to ask him to open his panel for you. he is accomodating and , oh did i mention, he is hot.
i am new to the practice. i heard so many wonderful things about dr. rashbaum. and they were all correct. he listens, he seems to care, he appropriately answered my questions, i didn't have to wait long. there is a wonderful golden retriever in the office that made the atmosphere even less scary. his staff were great and that trickles-down from the top. I found the experience to be quite a pleasant one and i am sending my husband to this practice. i can honestly say it was the best medical office experience i have had and sadly i have had too many. see these people. they are too good
i just finished my physical with dr. rashbaum as a new patient. i was veyr nervous and always hated going to doctors. all i can say is this guy made what has always been an unpleasant experience monumentally great. he was courteous, polite, listened without interupting, and understanding of my anxiety. i was so overwhelmed, i felt the need to write a review and after reading the majority of the reviews that were positive, i can only assume that the 2 that was negative were from people who would not be happy with anything , expecially someone with the best bedside manner i have encountered.
I have had Bruce Rashbaum as my primary doctor since the day he opened his office. I never feel rushed, and he goes over each of my question with great interest. I have also always found his staff pleasant and helpful. During a regular examination last year (2008) He asked me if I had ever had a certain test. This request led me to many tests, including a MRI, that confirmed I needed a heart catheterizing, plus carotid artery surgery. I had no symptoms of any kind, so I am sure that if not for his thorough exam, I would have eventually suffered a stroke or heart attack.
i have been HIV + for many years i have never felt more humiliated as i did with this individual
Due to personal circumstances i was not able to afford lab work and he chose to cut me off my current medication regime instead of refilling prescription and keep me on the same medications until i could do new lab work.As a result i have been ill and feverish for days
On a previous occasion it took 2 weeks to get relief and a prescription from him for a very serious migraine.
Despite many messages left on his voice mail
He does not understand the word compassion and his body language is just so dismissive.
I have gone to him for other health issues that are
treated by my family practitioner in Canada and he referred me to specialists who have confirmed he could have treated those symptoms
By far the most unpleasant experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rashbaum's for the past 12 years and I would never see another physician as long as he is practicing. He diagnosed my very rare medical condition when the doctors at Johns Hopkins were not able to. He is sensitive and caring are beyond attentive. He listens and always responds promptly whether by phone or by email. He has a golden retriever in the office that somehow makes everything better. His staff are also great and that trickles down from the top> I would recommend him to anyone in the Washington DC area
No matter which docotr or doctors assistant helps you, they are always a pleasure and a great help in your times of need. Willingness to schedule you in A.S.A.P for any big or small emergency. Alex, Tome Cantor, Dr. Rashbaum, Dr. Medoly and everyone else on the staff are the best. I would suggest Dr. Rashbaums office to anyone for any medical needs. They are above and beyond the normal serivce you receive at any other doctors office in the world.
GREAT GREAT GREAT!
Capital Medical Associates had a wonderful staff, including an exceptional female doctor, Dr. Medley until recently. However, not so wonderful is the practice (co)owner, Dr. Bruce Rashbaum. He is a horrible communicator, does not listen to patient questions and in fact becomes derogatory and attacks his patients verbally to the point of making them feel uncomfortable in the practice and thus causing them to leave. Now, the support staff, are all stellar. I would highly reconsider using this doctor -- I was a patient in the practice for more than one year, and was flabergasted when Dr. Rashbaum had what I call a schizophrenic (allegedly) episode and assaulted me in an e-mail exchange.

Dr Rashbaum has uniformly wonderful staff. I called for an appointment for a full phyiscal, and the receptionist was extremely professional and knowledgable about what tests I would need, etc, and how long it would take to get my form back (for a work assignment). The office is downtown in the Human Rights Campaign building on 16th and Rhode Island. It's very clean and bright. There is a Golden Retriever that hangs out at the reception desk, so if you have alergies that might be a negative. I saw Dr. Medly, and she was very efficient and professional. I had my forms back in a timely manner, and couldn't have been happier with the experience.
