Rocklands of Arlington Virginia. Bad food, terrible service, arrogant staff, unclean. One of the worst experiences in many of the restaurants. Restaurant has a peculiar smell, like some rotten stuuf. definitely wont recomend to anybody. The food was so fatty and low quality meats. The service was poor. It is expensive for the low quality they do deliver. RUDE ARROGANT NIGHT MANAGER. Next day. Food and wine connoisseur

We ordered takeout from the Alexandria Rocklands the night before Easter: bbq pork, chicken, greens, macaroni and cheese, corn pudding, coleslaw, and baked beans. The food tasted great, but we all stopped eating after my sister found a 1/2 inch worm in her mustard greens. Her husband started throwing up a few hours later, and it hit the rest of the family in waves. Never going to Rocklands again.

Rockland's can take the distinction of being the best BBQ in the District, as far as I'm conerned. When you get into the suburbs though, it's a whole other ballgame. But in praise of Rockland's, I will say their BBQ is pretty good on its own. The pulled pork is probably the best, followed by the brisket. Their wall of sauces is a playground for anyone who loves condiments. The sides are usually just mediocre, except for the Texas Corn pudding, which is a little bit of heaven. It's like a cornbread stuffing with little bits of corn baked in.

This place is delicious! Having grown up in Texas, I know what good BBQ tastes like and this has to be up there for the DC metro area. You must try them.

Rocklands is the absolute best BBQ in the DC area. You heard it here first, folks. This is a small place in Georgetown and there is really no parking to speak of, yet they stay busy from open to close for a reason.

The wall on the left is filled with over 120 different hot sauces for purchase, and you can try any of them by simply asking.

The food itself is just heavenly. We ordered the Bellybuster for $12.99. This consists of ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage, and grilled onions. Its served with a scallion, Rocklands' original BBQ sauce, and a potato roll. Folks, this is enough for 2 people. I kid you not. Not being real bright at times, we also ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich ($3.99), traditional potato salad, and a nice minted cucumber salad.

There was not one item on this list that wasnt good and by good I mean "oh my gawd Im gonna bust." We kept eating long after we were full just because we could. . not. . stop. . Serious pain here.

The place is, as I said, small. You sit with others at a kinda center hi-rise table and it's elbow-to-elbow. Don't let that put you off. This adds to the charm of the place.

If you like slow smoked BBQ and good ol' midwestern-type BBQ, Rocklands is your place.

PROS: Great food, low price
CONS: limited seating, no parking

Alright, this place is probably the best barbque "joint" in DC. It's one of those spots that you feel cool to know about because not that many people know it. Great tasting sauces, chicken/ribs... smoke literally billows from the door and fills the street with the great smells form their kitchen. Not to pricey, huge selection of hot sauces and a big bowl of peanuts to munch on while you wait for your order.

PROS:
CONS: Can be really busy sometimes but the wait is worth it.
