When I lived in the area I took tons of drop-in dance classes at the Bethesda and Dupont Circle studios of Joy of Motion Dance Center. They have every class imaginable. I especially liked the Intermediate/Advanced Street Jazz and Intermediate/Advanced Hip Hop.
I took a lesson at the Bethesda studio before it was closed (building was being sold or torn down so it wasn't because they aren't good). The salsa instructor was great and didn't go too quickly. i had a blast and hope to take other classes from them.
The adult classes here are great- enrollment classes as well as drop-ins let you be flexable with your schedule. Want a Friday evening ballet class, but don't want to be tied up in case the girls want to go out? No problem! Also have great student rates, but the regular pricing is reasonable as well.
