Unfortunately given the hustle and bustle of client relationship jobs here in Washington, the Grooming Lounge seems not to get it. I was given a 3 part service package by my girlfriend as a surprise gift. She scheduled an appointment on this past Saturday afternoon.

I had a client in town that I had to attend to thus I missed my appointment. Rescheduled for the next day, but again client obligations kept me from this appointment as well. I tried to explain this to the staff and I mistakenly assume they'd understand given their client base. However to my disappoint they will unwilling to reschedule and I was charged full price for services not rendered.

These views are my own, but I find it hard to believe that a "business" that attends to professionals downtown who have to move things around personally and professionally for our clients dont understand the person
whom they want as customers.

If I had scheduled this service my experience may have been different, but it seems Manager Brittany Paul and the Grooming Lounge turned a thoughtful gift into a customer service nightmare. Just my 4 cents.

I go there all the time and have invited at least 4 guests to try it out and they were all blown away. The facial is my fav followed by a hot rock massage! I've pretty much always had good experiences at the Grooming Lounge. Just park at the underground garage 3 doors to the right of the main entrance, go in and forget about all your worries.

I recommend it.

Awful!!
Guys don't waist your money! I went there to get a a haircut, waited for my cutter for over 20 minutes and nobody came to tell me what was going on. They ask for your credit card to charge you if you don't show up but make you and nobody says anything to you. Bad experience.

There are some real disingenuous jerks in their DC location! The girl that cut my hair was having a bad day and she let me know it as soon as I sat in her chair. The shampoo, which I normally enjoy immensely was done thoughtlessly with water splashing on my face and not wipe off. She then cut my hair without conversation, and when she did answer any of my cursory questions to break the awkward tension (that she created) they were mostly one worded and condescending. The cut itself was not exactly what I intimated to her but was better than Supercuts. As a master groomer she charges sixty dollars. Definitely not worth sixty bucks. I believe her name was Carmen. Good products, some cool people there but she was definitely not one of them!

I had never even heard of "The Grooming Lounge" until someone gave me their shave oil and aftershave for Christmas. The product was superior to anything I had used before, far exceeding gillette or any other mass-produced imported product. Soon after I ventured to the business itself off of L street near Connecticut. A dark room greeted me, as did the receptionist and manager with a tasteful hello and good conversation.
My haircut was pricey, but worth every penny. I got a neck and shoulder massage afterwards. I watched sportscenter as I sipped my complementary beverage. Definitely the best of the best, with superior products to match.

I've been. Once.
Right off, I'll admit I ignored the red flag that was their requiring a credit card to make an appointment. AYFKM?
Desk staffers were rude and condescending.
Hair cut, itself, was fine but the place is just... well, "off."
What could be an upscale men's groomer gives off a trendy beauty salon vibe, complete with service staff with 'tudes. What? No black-suited bouncer and velvet rope?
If you're looking for the full-on Vidal metrosexual spa experience, complete with espresso while you wait, this may be just the ticket for you, if you don't mind a subtly hostile undercurrent like you've tracked in dog turds from the street.
If not, there are other options to get a good haircut and shave in this town without unreasonably arrogant cashiers and receptionists.

I went to the Grooming Lounge to buy $100.00 worth of men's skin care product for a gift. After looking around in the store for about 10 minutes, I was finally greeted by someone. I said that I was looking for a gift, but wanted to sample some of the products and I didn't see many "testers". "We don't have samples of everything" was the response. I only saw a few samples, and no "tester" was available for the skin cream or shaving cream that I wanted to buy. My response was "So, if I want to try a sample, it's appears that I'm SOL?" The employee said "yeah, that's right." I just walked out the door in disgust. I'll walk up the street to Blue Mercury to spend my money - where I know the customer service is good and samples are abundant.

The Grooming loungue caters to men. The atmosphere is very comfortable and modern. Men can get a haircut, manicure, pedicure, for under fifty dollars. Not so busy on Mondays or Wednesdays and parking is limited but worth it to get your hair or nails done here. Recommended for their specialties to men.

The Grooming Lounge caters specifically to males. They have pedicures for men and they also do manicures. The nail technicians are very good and courteous and the atmosphere is jovial. They have televisions situated throughout the area with sports playing on all televisions. The price is reasonable at about thirty dollars for the manicure and double that for the pedicure with hand or foot massage included with the price.

Grooming Lounge is great. They offer a wide-array of services for men. Among those offered are: haircuts, massages, facials, nail treatments, waxing, etc. I only get haircuts, but they are always good.

They also carry great lines of products: hair stuff, shaving stuff, etc. Check out their web page to see everything.

The place is very cool and everyone who works there is very nice. They take good care of you.

PROS: Great Quality and Service / Excellent Location
CONS: Expensive
