Okay, people be smart, if there isn't one bab review then something is wrong. I know because I personally placed a bad review which BL had yelp to remove. Come on! reviews are by the people for the people. It's really sad that this salon had to resort to making up their own reviews!!

I love Bill lawrence's Salon. Bonita makes me feel like a 21st century diva. My hair always stylish and beautiful. If you want to feel as good as you feel in the inside on the outside see Bonita.

I have been going to Bill Lawrence Salon for many years and as a Native Washington, I can tell you that this salon is simply the BEST in DC in every way!! There is NO salon better!! The vibe is professional, friendly, and classy!!...beautiful soothing music...friendly, prompt, personable and knowledgeable staff!! Bill is a consummate professional who has been in the industry for many, many years and runs a top flight salon!!! Tyo is my stylist and she is simply amazing!! My hair looks and feels wonderful always -- soft, shiny, healthy, full of body and bounce!! She knows her craft and is an absolute pro!!! Bill and all the other stylists are unparalleled too!!! Donita is the most wonderful receptionist ever! You will always be scheduled well and never kept waiting!! Dana is great on nails! Brenda is lovely!! Everyone is just wonderful...

Once you visit this salon, you will NEVER visit another!!...worth every penny!! and you will look and feel FABULOUS!!! great with all hair textures!!! See Tyo!!!

I tried an upscale salon that was having specials. I was very disappointed after spending $100+ on a haircut with practically no styling and since it rained earlier that day when I stepped back out into the humidity my hair instantly frizzed up. :-( Then I remembered a friend of mine recommended Bill Lawrence Salon. I called and got an appointment right away and I asked them to color my hair. I read reviews and checked them out online and felt hopeful. When I first walked in the shop it was a very welcoming atmosphere. People were laughing and there was some soft music on so I immediately felt relaxed. Marissa (who is awesome!!) talked to me about my hair texture and what type of color I wanted (highlights, all-over color) and the colors that I wanted. I keep my hair natural so she had tons of advice for me. I learned not to use Pantene because of the sulfates which makes it look like you have dandruff. Since I've stopped using Pantene I've noticed a huge difference (thanks Marissa!). Marissa knew exactly what I wanted when I explained a particular look to her and she took amazing care of my hair. She even dyed my eyebrows to match the new overall color. I was very pleased with the entire experience. I was laughing and talking the whole time and I truly enjoyed the experience. It was worth EVERY PENNY! and I will be going back when I need to have my roots touched up.

A visit to a local salon can often be a fertile ground for disappointment. However, Bonita, at Bill Lawrence Salon, takes preemptive steps to reduce your chances of leaving her chair with an unexpected surprise. Most stylists fail to be professional, precise and lack the level of communication for their clientele to leave the salon happy. This is certainly not the case with Bonita. In my initial consultation with Bonita, she gave me reassuring words letting me know that I would leave there happy. "Okay, baby doll, you tell me what you want me to do," says, Bonita. I will never forget it. I was satisfied from the very beginning. In the past two years of me going to Bonita, I have gotten to the point that I allow Bonita to experiment on my hair, willingly. She and I have developed a bond and an extremely high level of trust. Like a second Mother to me, Bonita knows what is best for me and my hair (lol); I listen and allow her to work her magic with absolutely no complaint. Every girl has a story whenever they try a new stylist. One of the few times in my life, I can say that I am truly getting what I want in a stylist. Bonita is truly a professional stylist, always challenging herself to be the best; I would highly recommend her to everyone. Words to describe Bonita's service: "customized, creative, experienced, fun, relaxed, passionate, innovative, classy and sassy." Simply put, what makes a good salon, like Bill Lawrence Salon, great? One word...One name: Bonita.

I'm not sure if this is the "right" Bill Lawrence but when I started reading the reviews, it's got to be him! I first went to Bill about 25 years ago when he was in Shelton's Hair Gallery on Conn. Ave. I was from a small town, Cape May, NJ and black hair wasn't getting no play, when Bill did my hair I literally had people stop me on the street to ask who did my hair. I can't lie I did give it an extra swing cause it had body all day!! My oldest is now 27, my youngest is 14 and I am now 52. I can still say no one has ever done my hair like Bill Lawrence did my hair. I often wondered if he was still at it and now that I know he is I will make it my business to get to DC so he can hook me up one more time. Still got those beautiful eyes??

I started going about 6 weeks ago, and I love it. The customer service is great. I was going to Dominicans for a while, and then started doing my hair myself, and it wasn't until I went to Bill Lawrence salon that I realized my hair was not reaching it's full potential. I go to Bonita, and she is wonderful. She talks to you about what you want, gives her suggestions, and works her magic. My hair behaves so much better since I started going, and I can tell it's grown too! I never notice growth in such a short period of time, so that's major for me. I love that the stylist washes and styles the hair...no shampoo girls, no rollerset girls...just that one person doing my hair. As long as Bonita continues to make me beautiful, I will keep going.

I love my Dominican hair stylist back home in New York and I could never imagine not getting the occasional perm. But, it wasn't until I was referred to Bill Lawrence's protege that I realized perms were over-rated. Then I got turned onto Bill Lawrence! Not only does not not to perm my hair to get it silky smooth and straight, but with a quickness, he can style it with full curls and layers. It always looks healthy and I haven't see split ends - truly. My hair has grown faster after cuts and is near my lower back. I cant enough about the Salon vibe and Bill, and I love the scalp massage the washer perform...I wont pay less for my head of hair any more...simply not worth it.

I started going to Bill Lawrence's salon about a year ago. Bonita does my hair and she does a very good job. She listens to what you want and discusses the outcome with you. My color was to brassy and she worked miracles on getting it to look good. The receptionist is the kindest, sweetest and most professional person ever. The salon may be noted as expensive, but you get what you pay for. At Bill Lawrence you get the best.

Take it from me, I walked into Bill Lawrence Salon almost 2 years ago; and at the time I was at my wits end over my damaged hair!!! I was ready to chop it all off and start over again! After 1 visit with Bonita of Bill Lawrence Salon, my hair literally was transformed!! I'm not kidding--I must have gotten at least 15 compliments in 1 day after going to Bonita! If any of you are fed up with your hair and you're looking for a healthy change, please---please, stop by Bill Lawrence Salon and talk to Bonita about options for your hair! I promise you won't be disappointed! Lastly, I agree with the posts on Dana and Danita! They are both wonderful people!!! Dana does nails like no one I've ever seen before! She's magical!

I have been a loyal customer this salon for over 12 years - and I ABSOLUTELY Love TYO!!!! Yes, I make the trek from Alexandria every week for my hair and nails and I will continue to do so for all long as both Tyo and Dana remain. Every time I walk out of the salon, I receive compliments and that's because in addition to the incredible styles Tyo creates, she's also concerned with the health of the hair. My hair color matches my complexion so perfectly, only my immediate family knows it not the color I was born with. Dana is an awesome nail technician and has successfully taken my nails from soft and flimsy to long and strong. She makes me proud to wear my sandals during the summer because I just know my toes are looking good! Her pedicures are to die for!!This salon maintains its professional atmosphere by not subjecting customers to long waits for service and this can be attributed to their savvy salon manager Donita. I highly recommend this salon - specifically TYO - for those seeking a full service salon with a touch of class.

I got my hair cut yesterday by Tyo. She is wonderful. She was ready to take me 15 min before my appointment. She talked to me about what I wanted (color ...grey, cut into a bob and touch upthe bill $200.00not bad for all 3 services). Her assistant Jamie then introduced himself to me and based my scalp. He was very pleasant and conversational. Tyo then gave me the touch up and Jamie washed my hair. Once I was washed I returned to Tyos chair and she cut my hair. She hit it from every angle and worked it out. It looks so nice. The other customers thought it looked great. One lady even said it looks so good and perfect it look like a perfect weave! When I got home I realized the color did not take to some of my grey. I called Tyo and w/o hesitation she offered to credit me back my money or fix it on my next visit. I told her she can fix it on my next visit b/c I cant wait to come back.

I love this salon. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the staff and felt at home in their wonderful decor. Samantha Banks is my stylist and has been for about 11 years. I was referred to her by a friend and look forward to going back each time. Over the years, I have witnessed her talent with long, medium and short hair. On days when I am feeling conservative, she goes with it...on days when I'm adventurous, she is ready with ideas on color and cut that are right for my face and hair type. She is so good that I've actually had people stop me on the street to ask me who does my hair!

Sam is the absolute best. Of all the stylists I've gone to in DC, Sam is the only one who has truly demonstrated a commitment to promoting healthy hair that can be maintained at home. From day one, Sam listens closely to what you want for your hair and she works towards that goal without forgetting a single detail of what you shared during the initial consultation. Sam has transformed my damaged hair to healthy, shiny and vibrant hair. Also, to top it off, Sam is a great colorist, cuts well and is in sync with the latest fashion. Sam is very committed to her clients and our needs -- you just can't go wrong with Sam. The Bill Lawrence Salon is a chic and clean salon that offers professional service.

Samantha Banks, stylist and master colorist has been making me look gorgeous for more than a decade and yes, I have traveled cross country to have her style my hair. She listens attentively to what you ask of her; knows all about color and consistently creates incredible styles for my hair. She did my wedding hair (loved it). I trust Sam so much, I lost my long locks for a bob which I enjoyed immensely. When I get to WDC, Sam is who I call first for a cut.
