I am an experienced consumer of quality tobacco products. I found the selection superficial and 2nd rate. The employees had sneer on their faces and made under-their-breath comments about my status as 'vertically challenged'
I felt overcharged, underserved and personally violated. The "owner" stumbled in reeking of alcohol and cursed out his staff. I was fearful of remaing in the store without a firearm and retreated to the safety of Nathan's next door.

This has been my number one stop for tobacco products since I movied to DC six years ago. They probably have the most knowledgeable staff of any area tobacco dealer. And to my knowledge, they have the largest walk-in humidor of any shop as well. Pretty much they stock everything but the cubans. (And who knows, maybe if you say the secret word??) The prices are very reasonable, so much so that I've been able to afford their wares even on my non-proft salary. Keep in mind this review refers to cigars and pipe tobacco, since I've never purchased cigarettes from them.

Even if like me you are not a tobacco afficionado, you will probably wish you were once you encounter Georgetown Tobacco. The smell even from outside the shop is rich and mellow and the merchandise stands up to scrutiny. They sell many different blends of fine tobacco and cigars and also accessories such as pipes. This is very much a classic gentleman's kind of shop, and is also be a good place to purchase a nice cigar for a friend who just had a baby.

I only smoke cigars probably 3-4 times a year, and I will admit I am no cigar connoisseur, but I love this cigar shop because the employees are connoisseurs and they can help me find which type of cigar fits my taste. I also like it because they have a wide variety of cigars, ranging from very inexpensive, to world class cigars. I would definitely recommend it to every cigar novice, and even to people who are very familiar with cigars. Also has a variety of other tobacco products such as pipes, tobacco, etc.
