City Sports is a store that was greeted with a warm welcome by DC residents. Prior to its opening, you had to travel some nice distances to find a good sporting good store. Now, they're serving the entire District. They have equipment for every sport imaginable. On my last visit, I picked up: a tube of racquetballs, a red t-shirt, new wheels for my rollerblades, and a Nalgene waterbottle. As you can tell, their collection is immense. If you need sporting goods, City Sport truly has it all!

Their clothing apparel selection is impressive. I was able to find great t-shirts for exercising in here - a solid gray shirt and red shirt with a logo. They didn't charge me an arm and a leg like some fitness stores have in the past. Aside from this, their other areas are complete and thorough, too.

The only thing to recommend this overpriced indulgence in trendy sportswear is its convenient location right outside the Chinatown/Gallery Pl Metro station. If I knew of a cheaper and less pretentious place to buy a basketball and boxing gloves, I'd never set foot in this place.

On a positive note, however, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

It's hard to find sporting goods stores in Washington, DC.

This location of City Sports opened in 2004 (thankfully).
It's just down the street from the MCI Center.

Before that, it was very difficult to pick up sporting equipment downtown.

This store has it all: shoes, clothing, equipment. Whatever your bag, City Sports has it!: Soccer, yoga, running, basketball, baseball, etc.

Lots of Wizards, Nationals, and Capitals apparel also!

PROS: Location, lots of different kinds of stuff
CONS: None
