I've been going to this store since it was located next to the 7-11 on Four Seasons Parkway. The people have always been very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask about a type of wine and they'll present you with more options than you'll know what to do with. Dennis is especially knowledgeable when it comes to wines and I've even seen him asking people what food they're serving in order to provide a good recommendation. Clerks at other liquor stores will tell you which aisle your selection is in but that's as far as they'll go. The wine, spirits and beer selection is second to none in the Newark, Glasgow, Bear area.

I have seen them throw people out of the store but it's always the person who is on their cell phone while the clerk is trying to check them out or the person who is too smashed to serve. I've been behind people that argue with the clerk because their credit card is getting declined. Come on now...If there's money on the card, get it out of the ATM and try cash. They have one for your convenience 10 feet from the register.

I've also been in a line 10 people deep at 5:45 pm on a Friday with the person at the front counting change in their purse only to have to return 3 of the 5 items they're buying because they don't have enough money. I would expect anyone constantly dealing with these situations to have a bad day occasionally but 99.99% of the time they are all very friendly and courteous.

Just a guess but I'd be willing to bet the negative reviews I read above came from people who were thrown out or given an attitude because they're always a royal PITA.

Sincerely,
A Loyal Pleased Customer

I went in to purchase a 12-pack of beer. The sale did not ring-up properly. I went back myself to check the price on the shelf and I indicated to the clerk that I was overcharged by $2. The clerk was rude and pushed a button on the computer and said, "no it isn't - here's your receipt (listing the incorrect price)." I told her to go and look at the shelf to see. Again, she was quite rude and when she came back she said that she sees the price on the shelf was less but that "prices are subject to change - it happens everywhere." She then told me that if I didn't like it I should just leave. I demanded my money back and will not return. Incidentally, I found the same thing at the next store I visited for two dollars less than what their shelf price was. The grocery store next door is closing. I am sure that they will be next.

The selection here is awesome, they always have tons of microbrews and really good (inexpensive) wines. The manager there really knows his stuff, and can always recommend something to complement any dish. I've always found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful, and the hours/location are really convenient.

The people that work here are usually really rude. One guy that is there a lot doesn't speak english very good, but knows enough to scream at you. He was following me around the store, making it obvious. I was like what are you doing. He said something like "make your purchase and get out."
