For many years I worked on Ebright Road. I have had many lunches at the Lounge. They are friendly and the food is good.

Up until late 2006, my g/f and I used to be regulars. They used to have really good food and a fun atmosphere. The prices were fair too. Somewhere along the line things changed.

We were in there one night and right after we placed our order and the waitress took it back, we could hear someone yelling in the kitchen like they were really angry. The yelling didn't stop for a good two minutes- then we watched a different waitress go in the back and things got quiet. Our waitress came back and looked visibly shaken and upset. She informed us that something we ordered wasn't going to be available after all. We asked for a few more minutes to decide.

The whole situation was uncomfortable and frankly we didn't want whoever was that mad back there cooking our food, so we just ordered drinks. We were back a week or two later and our food was terrible. Our food came quickly, but while mine was warm on the outside it was completely cold on the inside- like it was pulled from the fridge, heated shortly and served. (Never had that happen before) My g/f's sandwich looked so thrown-together, she wouldn't eat it.

We haven't been back in over a year now, which is a shame because we miss it. Most places in our area are popular "hot spots" but we always prefered the smaller, laid-back environment at Hideaway. The wait staff was always friendy and you could count on having a good time, getting some good food and just relaxing. But getting cold, nasty food just doesn't cut it.

We've broadened our horizons somewhat, but still miss what Hideaway used to offer. A friend of ours who used to be a semi-regular, ate lunch there a few months ago and described his experience as bad. He said the menu's gone down hill and he got a $7 lunch with a soggy sandwich.
