Before bringing my 2001 Ford Expedition into Cole's I went to two other automotive shops due to failed emmisions. After spending over $1200 and two trips to different auto shops, the problem still wasnt fixed. I then went to Cole's praying I wouldnt have to put out unneccesary money and walk out with the same problem on my hands for a third time- well.. third times a charm! Cole's over exceeded my expectations and is now my familys number one go-to auto shop. From the moment I walked in the door until picking my truck when it was finished, I was kept in contact with and up to date on the progress. I was only charged $500 for the entire repair! Not only was it affordable, the customer service and quality of work spoke for itself. Prior to starting the work on my Expedition Mr. Cole contacted me with an estimate and fully explained what the problem was in terms I could actually undersand. He also went over with me where the numbers came from with parts and labor needed to fix the emmision problem. I hope this will save someone the headache and hole in the pocket that I suffered before finding a shop with the quality of work Cole's has to offer- there is absolutely no comparison in the area.
I took my car to Cole's because they were on the DMV list to have our emissions work done. What a mistake that was! The owner made promised to work through everything and take the car back through inspection for us because after the first time we go the car back the check engine light came back on the same day! However, since we had the work done by them originally when the check engine light came back on recently we called them hoping there was a warranty on the work done. We had already had the general diagnostic done by another auto store at no cost. Cole's said to bring it in. Got it there and they called and said it would cost over $1000 to fix with the discount they were going to give us based on the previous work done and the fact that the PART was under warranty. When we said to forget it we were told our bill is $108 for the diagnostic test done, even though it really told us no more than the one we had given them when we dropped the car off. Today I called to find out the codes for what the computer analysis were and they don't have a record of it. So, basically, I paid $108 and don't even have proof that they did anything. The response from the person who answers the phone - "It isn't my job. . .I just work here!" Don't go to Cole's - I know I won't go again and I will be sure that I tell everyone I run into that using them is like flushing money down the toilet.
I took my car for repairs and they said it was one thing, charged me over $600 bucks. The car did the sam thing when I took it back they said it was something else and wanted to charge me over $1000. Keep in mind that they said that they put the car on the diagnostic machine the first time and they fixed all problems.
We took our car to Coles because our breaks were squeaking suspecting the pads needed replaced. They seemed nice and honest the first time when we bought tires from them. They put on new break pads and rotors in the rear. About 2 months later we heard squeaking from the rear breaks again. We took the car back expecting them to replace them. They told us that both rear calibers were bad and they needed replaced along with the pads and rotors in the rear and the pads in the front. They said that the bad calibers would burn up new pads and rotors within weeks. They asked me how many miles I had on my car, I told them 34,000, and they said that the calibers wouldn?t be under warranty over 30,000. They told me they would knock off the cost of the pads since they put the first set on which still put our total bill at $950. Nothing was mentioned about the first set of rotors. Luckily I called the dealer to find out what my warranty was and if calibers were covered. Not only were they under warranty but they weren?t even bad; neither of them, nor were the rotors. All I needed was a simple set of pads in the FRONT. Nothing was wrong with the rear breaks. Lesson Learned!
CONS: They are CONS! Protect your wallet from them!
