I took my guinea pig here a few months ago. I live in MD but was having difficulty finding a vet on the eastern shore that was familiar with the treatment of guinea pigs. I ended up going to VCA Dover when I read on their website that they treated pocket pets. I was very pleased to find out upon calling that they give pocket pets such as guinea pigs rush billing since their health can degrade quickly once they show signs of illness. Also, the staff was very nice and some even came out of their way to say hi to my piggy. The doctor answered my questions and didn't rush me out or act like my concerns were ridiculous. I would definitely recommend VCA Dover for small animals.
We have been taking our dog to VCA for grooming for the past 3 years and we have been happy with every visit! Angie and Michele always pamper our Maggie. Appointments are always easy to book. When it's time to pick up Maggie - she is always beautiful and happy!
I heard nothing but good things about this hospital from where I work at the department of transportation because they give company discounts when your employer signs the company up. One afternoon late on a Friday right before they closed my dog was hit by a car and my own doctor in Dover wouldn't see him because they had plans and couldn't be late. So I called VCA Dover Animal Hospital and they told me to come right over, so I did! My little "Spunky" broke his leg and they fixed him up and first gave me an estimate to let me know how much I was looking at and then offered me a credit application for Care Credit so I could take time to pay for it and not be charged interest. The doctor was amazing and explained everything to me and went over the xrays and said he would take good care of him. Spunky made out great and the staff was very friendly and caring and explained every step of the way and even called the very next day after leaving how Spunky was doing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you did for us. I will always be your client since I transfered all of my Spunky's records. Love you bunches
VCA Dover Animal Hospital has been the best service i have ever had since moving to De, and i highly recommend it to anybody. They are caring, respectful, and their main focus is our pets! What a great place to take your animals and expect the best service.
I have been to several animal hospitals from the South to the North of Dover and I have to say I finally found the BEST one around! I took my dog in because he was having a hard time getting up and down and nobody could figure out why. When I went to VCA they treated him like he was their own dog and explained everything to me and didn't make me feel guilty for what ever decision I would make, they gave me an estimate so I knew exactly how much things were going to cost and then explained all scenarios. They also called to check on me a few days after we were there. They were compassionate and understanding in the most difficult time I had to go through. Thanks for making me feel like I made the right choice for my dog. I will continue to bring my other pets to you because of the care you showed us!! A special thanks to the doctor for sitting on the floor with me and explaining things while I was crying and an emotional wreck......
I have been going there for years and Now I had to put one of my dogs to sleep because of their lack of follow up. He had bladder stones and we had him operated on 5 years ago for them it cost me well over $3000 dollars. Well being that he created more stones my tater never was asked nor were we told that he needed regular checkups to make sure they didn't come back. Well, they came back and clogged his urethra again even though this surgery was supposed to prevent this. We took him in and told them we coudn't afford the surgery again so they catheterized him and flushed the stone back into his bladder this cost me 700.00 for a five minute procedure because of all the extra things the tacked onto the bill. I wish they would have left him catheterized or even showed me how to do it so we had time for the stones to dissolve. By Sunday the stone relodged itself in there and we had no choice but to put him to sleep because they drained us financially. We took him elsewhere to have it done Haven lake Animal hospital in Milford. They were much easier on the wallet and much nicer facility. I feel I would have been able to save my bug had I not gone to VCA. I will never go back and I will not recommend them to anyone. By the way that surgery I paid 3000 dollars for only costs around 500 elsewhere.

We have taken our animals here and they are very good with them. They do more than care for dogs, just ask. They are great when having to deal with a sick animal that is near death.
We took our pets to VCA for years until we had a couple of bad experiences with one doctor. The whole practice seems geered to making money and running tests that are not needed. If your pet sheds and is not groomed to perfection then you are made to feel like you neglect your animal. I guess in school they never went over the part that when some animals are nervous hen tend to shed excessivley. We found a new vet and could not be happier!
My experience with VCA Dover Animal Hospital was always good. The veterinarian's were all professional and informative! I felt that I could care for my animal with their assistance and advice. I recommend them for their intelligence and expertise!

We wouldn't take our dog any place but VCA animal hospital. I met Dr. Brown after our dog was attack by three other dogs at Silver lake in Dover. Dr Brown saved her life that time and later when her kidneys were failing he help keep her alive for two more yrs until the quality of her started to fail. We know several of the staff member Trista P is our niece and loves animals. Tammy is very friendly and always very helpful. The staff is very caring. 4 the best care 4 ur 4 leg child go to VCA Animal Hospital.
If you're like me, your pets are your children. I have two dogs that are my babies and whether they are sick or in need of a routine check-up, I know that the staff at VCA Dover Animal Hospital will take good care of them without taking me and my purse for a ride. I trust all of their doctors with my pups and know that they have their best interest at heart. The staff has always been honest with me and I never left feeling like my concerns weren't cared about. I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pet.
