Hairstylists are a nightmare-Waxing&Spa seem great!!

by Jessica P.

I was going to this salon for a long time and really enjoying my haircut/color and highlights. I never enjoyed the attitude of the front desk but going to my stylist Liz and the girl Monica who did my eyebrows is nothing short of amazing. I came in for my appointment and the desk told me Liz was no longer working there and they put me with someone she recommended for me. So I've been to 5 different stylist there trying to get comparable results- I am giving up on the hairstylist there- they seem very rude and uneducated. If you are looking for someone that is great with waxing go to monica but skip the hair!

Michael Christopher Designs

by V. V.

Michael Christopher Spa is not worth the money. Overpriced, Danielle the estheticians room was messy and she is rude. What a disappointment for a salon with such a well established name. Please avoid at all costs.

Manicurists need to be educated

by Lynda N.

I recently went to Michael Christopher's salon for a Pink and White acrylic fill for my nails. I LOVE my manicurist Joleen at J. Christian Studio in Hockessin but she's always booked so I thought with it's sterling reputation that I would be able to get a decent backfill at Michael Christopher. I WAS WRONG. Laura, the manicurist had no idea how to do a backfill using the white acrylic. She did not "dig out" the area on my tip for the white acrylic, so once she buffed down the acrylic she buffed off the white! She left my nails so thick they look ridiculous and she had to paint on the white on some nails. She had the nerve to say she was going to charge me an extra $10 for the backfill and then realized how bad they looked and said never mind. I just wish she told me she didn't know how to do it because now I have to find someone to fix my nails, which will cost me even more money.

beautiful salon lives up to its great reputation

by Jessica M.

I have been going to this salon for I guess about 9 months- and I have stuck with the same stylist Liz since I've been going there and have never walked away with anything but 100% amazing haircuts that i can replicate at home, also Monica who does waxing and skin does wonders with eyebrows, not anymore expensive then any salon in the area.

Nothing Special

by Spencer H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,277

I've been to many salons, and have usually received about the same kind of service I've gotten at this one. The haircut was good, they offered me a drink, and tried to sell me products - same as everywhere else. I just don't understand what's so great about this place, and why they charge twice as much as anywhere else.

Pretencious atmosphere

by Susan H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,784

This salon is very pricey, and the atmosphere can be somewhat intimidating. I don't appreciate snobby attitudes from people I am paying to cut or shampoo my hair! Even the receptionists have an attitude! Some of the hair dressers are skilled, and some are average, but this is the case at any salon. If you want to pay extra for a prestigious name, this is the place.

Wonderful Salon

by Ainsley H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,689

Michael Christopher's enjoys a reputation as the best in Delaware - very ritzy and posh. You will be pampered, but expect to pay for it! They recently added a nail area for manicures and pedicures and a really cute boutique called Heaven that is attached. You can get a hair cut with the owner or one of the stylists. Very yuppie vibe! Tip well and enjoy your haircut!
