As a curator, I must say that Winterthur is one of the finest museums on the East Coast. Not only do they cater to those interested in material culture, but they have a hands-on room for children and one of the finest outside children's gardens I've ever seen. You can easily spend an entire day here, and you should (because it isn't cheap). Staff is very helpful but not overbearing. A must-see for anyone passing through Delaware.

I took my family here and it was terrible. Not too much to see and very boring for the kids. I think older people might enjoy it but deifinitely not for the kids. They will be bored. The staff was very standoffish as well.
