Nobody cuts hair better than Nyssa, either at this place or in far more expensive salons in Wilmington. She's 10 STARS, a lovely, intelligent and friendly woman who is great with women, men and children alike. Takes all the time you need to decide the look you want, and takes great pains to make you happy and looking your best.

I've been going to this salon for 10 years. I think it's wonderful that they've been able to attract and retain great stylists. They all have different strengths, but I find Nyssa's cuts and Tina's perms the best.

I received the worst hair cut in my life. I have GREAT hair and I already had an existing bob, I just needed it shaped up and the back cut upwards (like Posh spice), well, I didn't get it close. My hair ends right below my ear, not my chin where I instructed the woman to cut it.

Also, I think my kindergarten scissors were sharper than what was used, I have split ends now due to their scissors and the stylist even commented on how well cared for my hair WAS...

My dog groomer does better! Stay FAR away!

I trusted the reviews I found on Google from these websites and went to the salon. It was a slow day and I didn't have to wait. However, their service was far worse than other shops in Newark (in a busy day). From expressions on their faces, they must really have a bad hair day.

She shampooed me 5 seconds and rinsed off in 5 seconds. The two washes took less than 30 seconds total! I wore a long hair. Imagine what chemical was left on my hair with that speed.

The hair cut and their skills were worse. They have no skill on hair cut at all. My hair style was very simple with a little bit of layers and they could not do it.

From scale 1 to 10, I rate this place -1. I will not even let them do my dog's hair.

I really like getting my hair cut at the Hair Cuttery. The prices are great ($13 for an adult hair cut) but because they don't accept appointments, you're sometimes left sitting, waiting for a long time. That's frustrating. But you can call ahead to have your wait shortened.
