Never again will I bother with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.
I will admit, first off, that there was a misunderstanding on what services would be required because of some whisper down the lane issues/. If I had realized how much they were charging for what they were actually planning on doing, I would have told them to shove off,. They were to install a stand-up, modular shower for me, which is pretty simple, but I wasn't comfortable doing the drywall patching myself for fear of leaving ugly seams/. The shower is a matter of snapping the pieces together, screwing them in to the studs and reattaching some PVC plumbing'. I did the demolition of the old shower, I drove out to pick up the new one, I got the shower head and the handle;. They were halfway through the work and they told me they don't do drywall, which is the only reason I wanted them to do the job.. So essentially they were charging me almost $1900 for a job that was incomplete and I could have EASILY done in a couple hours:. They then brought in their drywall outsource guy, who "you won't even know was there, his work is that good!" Didn't sand, didn't caulk, left ugly raised swirls, rather than smoothing out, left big gaps between the shower and the new drywall and didn't bother using any corner caps to hide seams. For all this, he charged an additional $200. He even had the nerve to offer to come back and do some molding work and finish the sanding he didn't do the first time and add a coat of paint to the ugly job he did... for an additional charge, of course. In the end, he came back and made it better. Not right, but better. His excuse for the shoddy work? "Oh, I didn't realize I had done such a bad job, because I had the wrong eye glasses on."

When my sink and tub refused to drain properly I called them, they came out within three days and got to work immediately. They didn't take more than a few hours but they got the job done. They answered all my questions and gave advice on how to prevent the problem again. They billed me for what they quoted, and didn't leave my bathroom a mess.

I first used this plumber a couple of years ago. I was very impressed by his honesty and promptness. I continue to use this company when I need a plumber. The individual who started the company still owns it, and now employs other plumbers. They advertise that if the plumber is one minute late, you get a Ben Franklin ($100.00 bill). This is so refreshing nowadays, when most service people keep us waiting for hours.
