Shore Deal Auto

On Dec 8, 2007 I accompanied my girlfriend to this shabby car dealer. They had been holding her $5000 deposit since Nov 2 saying they were "still trying to get her approved" for the 2005 Stratus currently sitting on their lot. I thought this reasoning was ridiculous and insisted she get her money back from them and we go elsewhere. Obviously they had her money in house and weren't too concerned with closing the deal.
I was greeted by Chuck, the apparent salesperson working ever so diligently day in and day out to get her approved. We stepped into his office, or the entire square footage of the facility rather, and sat in a cloud of smoke accented with a large ashtray on his desk. Last time I checked, smoking indoors is illegal in Delaware. I spoke to him in a professional tone. I abruptly, yet precisely, explained our intentions of getting the money back and the logical facts and reasoning behind the decision. He was extremely offended and insulted and proceeded to yell at me, asking me if I knew the value of the car he conveniently "got her approved for, the moment before we walked in the door". Next, he began barking at me, stating "I know nothing of the automotive business" [besides the fact I've been in it for 8 years] among other personal and unprofessional comments.
I ignored his barbaric protests and asked when we would be receiving the deposit back. He shouted "this friday, I have to sell some cars at the auction before I can return your money!" I replied "great, we'll see you then!" and we walked out the door.
In my 8 years of working in the automotive business in Delaware and Florida, never have I experienced such a degrading and unpleasant situation.
