The other reviews I saw are old, so I wanted to add my experience. I've been going to VCA for the past two years and love the staff. I've been doing animal rescue for many years and dealt with many vets in the area. This is the first one who has been flexible and caring enough to find alternative solutions to chronic illnesses. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with Dr. Bauman. The vet techs have taken a personal interest in our special needs pets and developed a trusting relationship with them. Our cat has been cured of hyperthyroidism. Our CKF cat is being well managed and doing awesome. Both dogs are doing incredibly well. VPI Pet Insurance pays 75% of the wellness visits and even more for the critical care visits. They accept Care Credit. The reason why we first came here is because they had a coupon on their web site that said our first exam was free. So we brought in our new adoption for a first exam and have been coming back ever since.

I am fairly new to the palm bay area and have been going to this office for a few years. My son became sick and i called the office to see if i could bring him to get checked out and pay for the appointment on the first when i receive my soc/sec. They never returned my call so started to check othe vets and while waiting to hear from vca finally called back a week later and the women jackie said to bring him in and when i mentioned about making payment next week she told me that was unaceptable and tried to hurry me off the phone. I complained and the office mgr called me and said to bring him in. After doing some blood work nothing showed anything wrong and by this time he had gotten much worse and i had to put him down. I will always wonder and beleive this would not have been the end result if they would have seen him 7 days earily when i first called. YOU BETTER THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS CLINIC IF YOU CARE FOR THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF YOUR KIDS, THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR IS THEIR MAIN CONCERN NOT YOUR KIDS HEALTH !!!!! Since then i have spoken to several people who had the same experience and wish i had known this sooner.. It was an absolute disgrace the way i was treated and also had to fight to have a couple of charges removed from my bill which i never received, how the sleep at night is beyound me. BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree with the last review. I don't think they care about the animals at all. I don't care about the cost of caring for my animals(but they are expensive), but I want them carried nicely, handled well and treated with respect. The are really only 2 male doctor's at this practice and the older one, is just awful. I really hate to say that, but he treated my animal awful and is a true know it all with no bedside manner. I think this doctor should maybe double check his ego or maybe just put it aside and care for the animals that need help. BUT The techs are great.I would definitely try the animal hospital on Babcock, which is only a mile away. FYI.

First of all let me start by saying that if someone had a bad experience with any of the vets or technicians in VCA Animal hospital then it must be a problem they have with themselves and every other place he/she went to. I've been to a lot of places with the animals in my life and I must say that this place has the most friendly staff, the most caring technicians and vets I've seen anywhere. They actually care about the animals NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. No one is obligated to call the patient's house after the patient leaves the office, but the staff in this office did so many times as well as the vets. That means a lot to me because that just shows that they care about your pet even after you leave not just when you're there. I have never even seen a human doctor do that. So if you love your pet and want to put him or her in the best care you would ever see given to animals then bring them there. You'll be glad you did. I thank God for giving my cat Felix the best doctor in the world.

Village animal hospital is below par to every other vet that we have visited. We have 5 cats and have been to many vets as two of them have cardiac and kidney problems. First, upon arrival we were handed paperwork to fill out, mostly financial, which I found tacky. While we were filling it out, the receptionist/tech repeatedly said "we don't accept checks for first time visits". I said okay the first time but she felt she had to mention it three more times until I said, are you asking me how I am going to pay? Again, this is beyond tacky. Second, the doctors are very unfriendly, they give the impression that your animal is just that, an animal an not a member of the household. They showed little patience with my kitty nor tolerance when she was too frightened to get out of the carrier. The third complaint I have about this practice is the cost. Let me mention that we have spent well over $30,000 on the care of our cats, so cost never played an issue until we went to this practice. Almost $180 for bloodwork, $50 exam and they even charge you random disposal fees of $5 for needles used to draw the blood. Let me mention one more thing, from the moment you walk into the exam room, the tech and vet started to "hard sell" us on a dental cleaning and heartworm medicine. This all before they even asked about why the cat was brought into the office to be seen. I would not recommend this practice to anyone, nor would I let them care for any of my animals again.

Our Vet went on vacation about a week into treatment and called to see how it was going !!! They are The Best!!!!
