Jungle Island is a blast. Every summer when family comes to visit we always go there. Its gotten more expensive over time but its still worth it.

This place is a total ripoff. The operations manager is an idiot and they give out free coupons for school students with adult paid admissions and then they change the rules when you get there. Do not waste your money.

Excellent location for family fun! Jungle Island has grown since its opening and now has more animals, excellent shows and a Hippo Slide (wet in summer, dry in winter) which is so much fun. I took my nephew and he had a great time with the animals. I bought the Annual Pass because it was a better deal than getting a one-day pass. They often get new animals, so we like to go back and see the new stuff. We had a great time!

This is definitely a Disney World type place. The admission and food prices are high, and there are extra add-ons (such as holding a tiger cub and getting your picture taken) that will make the trip much more expensive. But, for all that money there is a lot of interaction and education opportunities to be found.

Great for people that love animals, mainly birds. The price has increased somehow but still a series of fun shows to watch.I still have the recordings of some of the shows that I went since I was child. The feats are famous and well worth the price.

PROS: Clever stunts by birds
CONS: far away location

A few months ago I got to see the new Parrot Jungle Island off the Causway. We took some classes there from the school. It's very lovely with the landscape and location facing the water, but to tell you the truth I liked the old Parrot Jungle when it was in So. Miami. Because the foliage is so new, it looks a bit "staged" like someone brought in a bunch of trees (which they did!) for the parrots. The one in the south felt and smelled like a real jungle.

Although the main attraction are the parrots, they have lots of other beautiful birds there as well. The bird show is worth seeing. They also have some othr animal shows such as a reptile show and a monkey show. Children as well as adults will enjoy it here and there's not a bad seat in the house.

PROS: Nice way to spend a day with the family
CONS: doesn't feel like a real jungle

I just visited the Parrot Jungle Island after reading about the "new" theme park. I felt that there were not enough attractions. Most of the "shows" were not happening. There is nowhere to go for shade or a/c to get a little break from the heat. There were not enough activities for the kids. It seems that it is trying to compare to the big themeparks and having a little trouble doing so.

Simply put, I love Parrot Jungle Island. Not only are there beautiful, colorful and sometimes loud parrots for me and my kids to enjoy but the other animals and activities provide a day of fun! There's a terrific "big cat" show featuring tigers, tiger cubs, chimpanzees, orangutans and other exotic animals but my favorite is the Liger, a cross between a tiger and a lion. A superb and beautiful animal. There's a great reptlie show, if you're into alligators, crocodiles and giant snakes. Check out the world's biggest Crocodile called "The Crocosaurus" and of a great petting zoo and playground for the kids.
Don't forget to have a delicious lunch in their cafeteria, overlooking flamingo lake, filled with beautiful pink flamingos!

PROS: Great day for the whole family
CONS: Paying for parking

My family loved Parrot Jungle Island when we went last spring (2004). It was so clean and there were SO many animals to enjoy - not just parrots! There were rides for thekids and playgrounds and a petting zoo that was a huge hit with my littlest one (he was 2 at the time). They have an amazing restaurant/cafeteria that had fabulous fresh and delicious foods, but it is my understanding that shortly after our visit, the changed kitchen staff and it went downhill.

PROS: beautiful animal exhibits
CONS: high priced

You don't have to be Jimmy Buffet to love this park. There is something for every one, young or old that will amuse and delight you..Whether it's the big cats, the monkeys, the animals in the petting zoo or ,of course the Parrots and other exotic birds. And let's not forget the snakes and the giant Croc guaranteed to chill you at the sight of him.
The grounds are lovely to walk through as well...It's a jungle ou there!

PROS: beautiful birds, exotic and fascinating animals await
CONS: Parking is not free

We loved the shows, especially the bird one and the reptile one. Everything was wonderful! We have many pictures that look like something from the National Geographic. Unfortunately, we missed the tiger show. It is definitely worth a visit. I think that children will enjoy it even more than the adults will. There are just so many animals there, it's great.

we have visited lion country safari, butterfly world, everglades safri, and monkey jungle.. all of these were wonderful. However, jungle island aside from all the beautiful birds was a real let down. they charge for every lil thing such as $5 to rent an info box to learn about the critters. which is in short supply. Our 3 year old got to hold a bunny, skunk, and a macaw, but we were not allowed to take pictures. we could buy a 5x7 for $25... none of this would be a problem if it felt worth it. Monkey Jungle was the best.. and they have lot's of birds at butterfly world..another thing at jungle island all the monkey's seemed sooo bored in there lil bitty cages..

Pros: feeding the bird's / friendly staff

Cons: it's called nickel and diming

I went over to jungle Island in Oct. They have the most uniqe animals like a Cassowary and even a Liger which was very impressive to see. My daughter was able to interact with a baby capuchin monkey as one of the trainers walked by. Very clean park and restrooms. It is very close to the hotel we stayed in South Beach. Also the staff was really really nice. Great place to visit and highly recommend it .

Pros: close to hotel and airpot

Although the internet site does note, "Severe inclement weather may affect Jungle Island?s hours.", the sign at the ticket window does not, nor does the sales rep warn you what constitutes severe weather in their mind. We are from Phoenix, AZ (the no rain state) and I hate rain. Yes, hate is a strong word, but true. That being said, after spending $150, we decided to stay even after a few short rain spurts. (If I could handle it, anyone could!) But after only 1 hour there and four hours before the park closing time, we were told everyone had to leave. Management would only offer everyone a 4 day extension back into the park. I requested a refund since the park personnel who told us they were closing the park said we would get one as we were leaving the next day on our cruise. Management not only refused our refund, but was extremely rude to not only me but several other guests in the same situation. I suggest for what you get there (it is a SMALL zoo), you are better off spending your money elsewhere!

There are so many birds! I liked seeing all the different species and touring the facilities. I think this would be a great place for kids too.
