I have been training at Bushido Knights for more than four years, and the skills and knowledge I have learned are more than just for show or to prove to someone that I can simply fight. Bushido Knights is a high-quality school, and Sensei Knapton teaches the ancient warrior arts in a practical way. His respect for the arts and etiquette for the dojo are evident from the first time you enter. Not only have I learned real-life skills, I have developed personally on many levels. I owe it to the dojo and to Sensei Knapton and his knowledgeable instructors. Keep in mind, you don??t have to take my word for it, simply try it and see for yourself.

After training at the bushido knights for several years I whole heartedly believe that what Sensei Knapton teaches his students will benefit you when it comes to self-defense. More importantly he teaches you to avoid confrontation when possible. The skills I have learned over the years has enabled me to not only be a proficient fighter, but become a more confident individual as well. At the Bushido Knights dojo you learn to defend yourself in almost any given scenario and the instruction prepares you for real life situations.

I had been training in the martial Arts for about 10 years when I found Bushido Knights. I can honestly say, 7 years later there is no better place to train. There is no where else where one can find great instructors and a great group of people to train with. At the end of the day anyone reading this does not know who is writing these reviews. So I give anyone courious about the dojo a challenge. Take Sensei up on his offer. Try out the school for free. If you don't think its is the best place then you never have to come back, and you have lost nothing. However, what if you find what many others have? What if you find that there is no place you would rather train? "When the student is ready the master will appear".

I became a Bushido Knight about 5 years ago after I was violently attacked at work (Jail) and if it were not for help arriving I could have easily been killed due to the lack of self defense skills at the time. Fast forward to the present and my self defense record speaks for itself thanks to the phenomenal instruction at the Bushido Knights Ryu. I have been attacked many more times in the last 5 years and have been able to quickly and efficiently defend myself on every occasion. The first attack was only a couple of weeks after I began training and I was already equipped with the tools needed to keep myself safe while restraining the violent inmate. If it weren??t for Sensei Knapton and the other great instructors I know many of the incidents I have been involved in wouldn??t have ended so positively.

If you want REAL martial arts that give you proper self-defense skills for real life situations (not sport) than I highly recommend you make a call or stop by. Give the free 2 week trial a shot and I promise that you won??t be sorry because I know it??s one of the best decisions I??ve made in my life.

I have been training at the Bushido Knights for over five years. Not only have I learned real martial arts skills, I have also transformed my life and grown so much as a person. If you are looking to train with high quality people, in a cooperative and encouraging environment, I can't imagine a better place.

After having been training martial arts since my late teens I eventually decided I wanted to branch out and expand my skillset. I watched and took the free introductory classes at numerous schools (some of which were fairly well-renowned) in the South Broward and North Miami areas looking for the right fit and I had no desire to return for a 2nd class at any of them except for Bushido Knights.

What I was looking for above all else was an experienced teacher that was knowledgeable in practical self-defense from all areas of martial arts, and a good atmosphere that came from having skilled students that were also good people you're happy to be around even outside of class. There is no doubt that you get this when you get this when you get there and interact with both the head instructor and the fellow students and I am happy to have been accepted to the dojo and to have been training there ever since.

Really great, high quality school. Nice group of people. Very professional. The instructors are very skilled and the classes are
very hands on, fun and practical.
I liked that they have admissions standards and that they let me
train for 2 weeks for free so I could experience the school. They are rightly very confident in the excellence of their school. Go and try the classes

I have been a student of Bushido Knights for several months. I have found Sensei Knapton to be a true teacher, one who understands that the expectations of the students are different. Some people want to learn how to kick butt, others just want a good workout, and everywhere in between. This is a real life style of Martial Arts. Not for points, not for showing off, but a commen sense approach to what may happen in the real world. Its the real deal, and Sensei Knapton makes if fun.

Pros: Real life approach

Cons: Commitment required

.

This is an excellent school. The instruction is very high quality. The instructors are very skilled Black Belts who are able to clearly explain the techniques they are teaching. I really liked that the classes focus on reality based scenarios and real fighting skills rather than just doing Kata, line drills and all the other things you normally see at sport schools and kids schools. I also liked the fact that people have to go through an admissions process to be accepted as students at the school. I don't know of any other schools in the area that has admissions requirements.

I actually trained at the Bushido Knights for around 3 years.
I hope to go back sometime soon.

I trained in traditional Shotokan for about 4 years and
I have also trained in a variety of other systems.

Previous to training here I took a look at most of the other local
schools. (in fact the Bushido Knights Sensei told me to
go look at all the other schools on my list FIRST)

The Bushido Knights are a great school with excellent instruction. I really
liked the other students there and was impressed with the high quality
of the skills they had. (You can tell A LOT about the quality of a school
by looking at the students)

I was surprised to see the few poor reviews below -but I suspect they were
all written by the same person. (They all have the same writing style, the
same poor grammar/spelling, similar entry dates and give the same rating).
Someone whom I suspect never actually went in to the school. Welcome to
the internet. LOL

But regardless, here is my actual experience.

"Pressured sales". Not true. They let me go to classes for 2 weeks (for
free) BEFORE I joined. Actually you HAVE to go to a bunch of free classes
before they offer you the CHANCE to sign up. The only pressure was
I really wanted to qualify to be a student.

"Not a Black Belt" Not true. The Sensei is a tremendously skilled Black
Belt with decades of experience. His Certifications are on display but
never mind that - go and watch him or better yet take a class there and
see for yourself.

"Not nice" Also not true. I liked the Sensei a lot. He is very professional
and a class act. Again go in and SEE FOR YOURSELF.

"Not teaching kids means it is a 'cheap' Art" That is just an ODD statement.
I don't want to train with 8-year-old kids. Kids classes can be taught by
a 14-year-old black belt. It takes a true Master to teach the real thing to
adults.

Bottom line: Great Dojo. Great teacher. Great Style.

GO SEE FOR YOURSELF...

They teach cheap martial arts (they can teach only adult because to teach child is difficult). they teach something strange from many different martial arts -teacher could not stick same style for over 1 year. this is not the usual sport or kids arts you find. This is a con school.
Don't waste your time here.

They teach real martial arts (they are one of the few schools that only offer adult classes). they teach skills from many different martial arts -you would have to go to at least 4 different schools to learn all the skills taught here. this is not the usual sport or kids arts you find. they have a great record of their students successfully defending thmselves. They are very selective about who they will train, (you train for 2 weeks for free while you are in the admissions process). Some schools were pushy about selling, the bushido knights are the opposite, they won't LET you sign up -until you are offered admission. They teach you real skills right away and you get to learn from the chief instructor who is a outstanding martial artist and a great teacher. If you can get in, this is definately the place to train.
