The University of Miami is a gorgeous campus with a diverse student body. Students represent many cultures and countries from across the country and the world. Class sizes at this private university are small and most of the teachers hold doctorate degrees in their subject of teaching. The student body knows how to work hard and play hard as well. There are many organizations on campus, no matter what your interests are you will find a group that fits you. The only downfall of this university is the high costs. Tuition, room and board and general costs are among the highest in the state of Florida. The cost of living is high in Miami and many students are required to take out loans while in school. The financial aid department isn't very helpful either and there tends to be some mistakes with the rate in which students get reibursement checks for loan reibursement. The number of majors and subjects available are diverse. The marine science and architecture programs are among the top in the country. Other common majors include biology, business administration, communications, and psychology. The Frost School of Music is also world renowned. Recently a great deal of money was donated to build many new facilities. And many have heard of the Hurricane athletic teams. The football and baseball teams have both one national titles withing the past 5 years. Many new athletic teams have also come out of the university in the past 5 years including womens soccer, womens rowing, and womens vollyball. Miami is also well-known in track and field. A member of the womens track and field team recieved a medal in the summer olympics last year. Hurricanes bleed orange and green, and if you are going to go to school here, you will become a fan, and you will sing the song... "It's great to be a MIami Hurrican..."
