Abracadabra Pet Motel & Groom Shop

I called this kennel about 1 week prior to 4th of July weekend and asked if they had room for my two dogs. I asked that they be boarded together the man said that would be fine. We picked them up from a week stay and both dogs were severely underweight. For example my Jack Russell was 20 pounds, he left there 16 lbs. Unacceptable. They were covered in feces and fleas; mind you both of my dogs are on monthly Frontline. My Jack Russel was hand shy when I brought him home which makes me think he was beaten because he was separated from my other dog (against my wishes) and cried because he couldn't see her. The following day after i brought him home he started was having symptoms of paralysis. He stopped moving and I thought he was dying. I took him to an emergency vet who gave me muscle relaxers and he fine the following evening. My husband picked our dogs up that day but if it were me I would have made a scene in the lobby to the point of being escorted out by police. After many months of thinking of this incident and seeing that the owner was charged with neglect and cruelty I would strongly urge, if you love your pet, DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO ABRACADABRA PET MOTEL, if it is even still open. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

NEGATIVE STARS, READ!We had an appointment to drop off our pup to be boarded, the guy wasn't even there. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THIS PLACE.... owner charged last month for multiple counts of animal neglect. A dog got it's head stuck in one of the fences, the fire dept. was called and all the dogs, birds, and cats were found in filth, poor kennel facilities, and neglected!

I boarded my pets here (last minute option). I have 3 dogs. All of them were filthy and stunk when I picked them up. Their nails were supposed to be clipped and were not. When they got home, they drank water like they hadn't had any all weekend. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I had my cat groomed (ended up coming home shaved---and it is a persian). He was supposed to be getting knots cut out and a bath. If I had wanted a "lion cut" they did an okay job. However, the place reeks like animal urine. The price is very reasonable yet I'm not quite sure if it is worth it. Like I said, the smell is very strong.

PROS: reasonable price
CONS: STINKS--and you need to tell EXACTLY what you want done
