Be carefull of the Burrell's summer camp and Daycare. He uses a corporation for his business's and has no insurance! If your child gets hurt at either of his business's you can't take any legal action against him. I found out the hard way at his day care when my two year old broke her leg on their playground. She was not being supervised like she should have been. George Burrell! you are a cheap business man. Running your business with no insurance just to save a buck. My family has incurred over 20,000 in medical costs with my girl. My 2 year old was left at their daycare for three hours with a broken leg and they wouldn't even call 911 to get her help. Save your child and send them somewhere else. I even will put my email address on here to answer any questions. Ciresamoht@yahoo.com

My son has been going to this camp for over three years and the daycare prior to that. My favorite memory of the camp was when he got into the car and said, "I'm tired, they wore me out today" The price is extremely reasonable for the market. I would really have to disagree with the comment below. The competing camps such as YMCA use teenagers too and this has been standard practice in most camps since the 60's. They have a lot more than YMCA for the money such as horseback riding and canoeing. My son loves the camp so much he talks about it all year long. I would and I have recommended them to many of my friends.

Tips: The pick up circle backs up, so tell your kid to have their stuff ready to go when you pick them up.

My children have been going to Camp Chippewa since they were 6 and they are almost 11 now. Just like anything else, it may not be for everyone. But my kids love it! If your children like being outside all day & being active, it's great. I really like that they are not inside watching tv all the time! The kids get to fish and canoe in the pond. In refererence to one of the other reviews, Yes, they ride horses and it's just riding, but no one advertises or charges for personal riding lessons... There are also a few field trips during the summer. There are usually at least several staff members from other countries which adds to the fun. My children have been exposed to other cultures because of this. I do not like the fast food lunches but you also have the option of sending a lunch with your child if you like. Compared to the cost of other child cares, I have found that it is just about the same as other centers and your child will be busy and active all day!

We love the camp! My daughter comes home everyday during the summer with a new fun story to tell. They are outside most of the day not inside watching movies and playing video games. The camp starts from the first day the kids are out of school and camp is over right before school starts. Which is great for me since there are not many other affordable options. The camp is open all day not half days like most other camps in town. The down side is that they are given fast food everyday for lunch so I just make sure that all her other meals are healthy and I send healthy snacks and water. You just can't beat 130 a week for the fun that they have.

I am not too escastic with this company. For the amount of money per child per week, I feel as if the summer camp is overpriced and overrated. Most of the "teachers" are teenage children, and most of the activities touted by this company are misrepresented. For example, the horse back riding is a hoax. Yes, the children do get to ride a horse. For all of five minutes. No instruction or lesson is given. The children ride with someone holding the horse next to them. While this does maintain safety, this is the equivalent to a county fair where you pay $5 for your kid to sit on a pony. I don't think for the price of the camp this is acceptable.
Also, most of the time, my children were swimming all day. While great exercise, I do not feel that by the children swimming, this constitutes day camp. It felt more like the YMCA, which is a great facility, however, Camp Chippawa is supposed to be a step above others, which is why I was lured into paying their exorbant fees.
Never again. BTW, all the children ate was fast food each day from different chain restaurants. No way is that decent nutrition.

PROS: Swimming pool
CONS: Poor supervision, misrepresentation of services offered.
