I have been a repeat customer for six years and have seen many massage therapists come and go during that time. For the past year, I have been seeing Jonathon who was able to get results that 5 other therapists were able not able to achieve. He is thorough, helpful, pleasant, knowledgable and always asks good questions.
I'll be making an appointment soon as I haven't been there n awhile, but wanted to comment on the atmosphere: for me it is the best I've had. The room was small with a high ceiling and very dim (just low lit wall sconces.) For me this was great as I have trouble relaxing. The dimness allowed me to "lose myself" in the massage. I highly recommend Jose for deep muscle massage. He either speaks little English, or acts like it ! :-) which also works for me. Not into conversation during a massage. Had one other therapist (woman) that I was not as impressed with.
Good: Great location, very welcoming staff, and one of the best prices in Tampa. Therapist was receptive, friendly, and experienced. They also have discounts for repeat customers.
Bad: place is a bit dark, and unfurnished. Could use better music, aroma therapy, and a changing room perhaps. The service could have been a bit timelier.
Overall: a great place for the price and location. Ideal for the repeat customer on a budget.
I went to The Massage Shoppe in New Tampa recently, and I could not have had a better experience. Making an appointment was easy and they accommodated my schedule wonderfully. The front desk staff was so polite and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing and my massage was one of the best that I have ever experienced. My therapist was Abby and she had incredible technique. I plan to visit as frequently as possible and definitely suggest the same to everyone and anyone else!!!!
This shop is the same organization as the one on Howard. The wife and I went to this shop hoping to get a good massage. We were very much let down. The shop is clean but without a lot of atmosphere. The staff was pleasant enough. However, the therapists didn't seem too professional as I've had massages from students fresh out of school that were much more satisfactory. We realize that the prices may be lower than at alot of shops. But we will be much more willing to go back to paying more if it means walking out feeling better than when we walked in. This was not the case at the Massage Shoppe in North Tampa off of Bruce B. Downs.
I tried 3 massage therapists there (all women) and they all were great and strong at deep tissue. I love that you do not have to make appointments way in advance. The ambiance is no frills relaxing though sometimes the noise from the front desk does seep though into the rooms, but overall a great, professional, high end experience for reasonable prices.
a firend was going to the massage shoppe so decied to get one also, i did not need an apointment, and is was a fair price to relieve the stress i was feeling, they have diffrent price range, i went for the 30.00 massage. it lasted about 20 minutes and it felt great. they staff treat you very well, and i have been back a fe other times. they even had women who were about to have babies and they said they loved it.
Convient location and hours. It is open 7 days a week until 8pm I believe. I just walked in and was able to get a massage which is great when a stressful day hits you unexpectedly. They were very professional. I did the relaxational massage for $45 but I think the pressure was not hard enough to get the really tense muscles. Should have paind the extra $10 to get the sports massage.
