College park yoga makes me smile. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping my back. I feel better than ever before. We are moving soon, so, trying to soak up all the CPY goodness before we go.

Tear it down, build it up were words that had no meaning to me, until I experienced my beautiful body be riddled with cancer. You taught me 4 words ?? Breathe. Listen. Let-GO. This practice aided me in freeing my body by tearing down the cancer and building it back up to health. Thank you for that!

This Yoga studio is the perfect balance between a hard work out, an amazing stretch session, and a serious yoga practice. I have developed my practice more with this studio than any other in 20 years of practicing. The new space has taken yoga in Orlando to a whole new level.

I have tried yoga classes all over this town for the past 5 years; I recently tried a Friday night class at CPY for the first time. I found it to be one of best ever yoga experiences ever. If it is as terrible as some people would have us believe, CPY would either be gone or their classes certainly wouldn't be as packed as the one I attended. I give them high marks for excellent instructor and spacious studio (new one on Edgewater Dr.). Owners and instructor were extremely gracious before, during, and after my visit.

I have been coming to this studio for almost a decade. Friends invite me to their yoga studio's and out of respect I go. But my home base for yoga is College Park Yoga, this is where I feel safe and comfortable. This yoga studio allows people to be as they are, and gives them space to practice how they need to. Everyone that I have met here has some sort of injury or personal pain they are working through and all the staff at College park yoga is supportive of this. I have been going here for a long time and will continue to go. People that leave bad remarks about any yoga studio have their heads up the u know what's! The people that work here the nicest and kindest group of teachers I have ever met at any yoga studio. I have practiced at many other studio's, but would never post a poor remark about them, as that is not what yoga is about. Every teacher has something to offer. All the teachers at CPY have much to offer the community of Orlando. It's just you need to be prepared to sweat, and to rest, and get a great workout physically and mentally.

Wow, i was surprised to hear some negative comments about College Park Yoga! I guess to each his own, but honestly I have learned that Yoga is about what you get from it. I have learned so much from both Theresa and Calvin. I dont attend to make friends in fact most people keep to themselves. No distractions and alot of discipline is what I find. They have truly changed my life and allowed me to learn and gain the most I possibly can at that moment. I sell Real Estate for a living and have always believed that I may not fit every buyer or sellers idea of how I should do my job and thats ok. Those are usually the types of clients that I would rather not work for. I do believe that the same goes for Yoga and a studio and their teachings. It may not be for everyone, dont come in expecting. I personally couldnt imagine going anywhere else. With the training that both T & C provide, I have become more aware of who I was and who I dont want to be, mind, body and soul! Ahhhhhhh.......

I have practiced all over the world and never had a studio/teacher be so downright rude. Cold, unwelcoming, and full of ego. This is not what yoga is about. I'm glad Orlando has a lot of other great studios to attend because I will not attend or recommend this studio to anyone.

The studio is bustling, that is for sure, and that is partly why I enjoy participating in classes here. I have a regular practice of Ashtanga yoga - and this place takes the cake. I have never been to a studio as warm, friendly and knowledgeable about this practice as College park yoga. all the teachers here know the in's and out of the practice and they are not afraid to challenge you as a yoga student. Anyway, if you want to learn REAL yoga go here.

I've been practicing for about 5 years and was an everyday student at a number of studios around the country and in Orlando. The nonsense started almost immediately with the forms and the haughtiness at check-in. It continued with pontification during class meant to remind clients that their pampered lives were occurring against a backdrop of world suffering. There is little correction or demonstration, just a bunch of blather about how we could drop ""your frustration because you didn't have enough foam on your latte"". (I started laughing out loud at that point.) When the class was over, they have a receiving line where you have to go past the teachers and engage in mutual appreciation, not completely unusual, but the effusiveness of the two owners made my skin crawl. Not a great place to learn and way too much attitude for what they do.

On Oct 22, 2011, College Park Yoga had a Vampire Yoga class. My friend had purchased tickets for myself and her to go for my birthday, however I was too sick to go anywhere. We called them to let them know, so that it would open the space up for others to go and was told by Teresa, the owner that she appreciated me calling because she did have others that wanted to do the class. I didn't even think to ask about a refund. I recently have felt much better and thought to email about the refund or class credit. I was informed that there are no refunds or credits no matter what the circumstance and that someone else used our tickets. I wrote back asking if they resold the tickets or just gave away the tickets that we paid for. Teresa said that as with all ""events"" if you purchase a ticket and can't go you have to take it as a loss. She said this works with movie tickets, plays, even basketball games. However, movie theaters do refund your money and play and basketball tickets are resold so that makes no sense to me. And just because it was ""vampire yoga"" does not make it an event comparable to a basketball game etc., it is still a yoga CLASS. She also told me that she and Calvin are the mere directors of the studio and were not authorized to make transactions such as refunds but on sunbiz they are listed as the only two registered agents. If she lied to me once, I have no doubt that she lied about not reselling the tickets and made $50/ticket off of us that evening.
As a business owner myself, I would never treat a customer this way.

Discovered college park yoga on my way home from work one day, and never turned back. A great yoga studio with good people.

The classes are the perfect balance of sweat, challenge and stress relief. The teachers are all very helpful and accommodating, all of them speak clear and give helpful instruction. They offer words of wisdom that is far beyond the scope and range of other places i have been. If you are seeking out a place to actually learn what yoga is this is your yoga space.

I have never in my life seen people write such wicked and cruel words about anything or anyone as some of these other reviewers have written. However, if any business deserves that kind of immature behavior it is certainly NOT College Park Yoga. I have frequented many of the weekend sessions at College Park Yoga. The experiences I have had each time have been very positive and supportive. I find that with all situations there are 2 sides to every story. You need to go visit this studio if you want to learn yoga that is kind and gentle while in the same instance also invigorating and challenging. Everyone I have met at this studio has been nothing but kind and genuine. If you are looking for a yoga experience that is about learning and doing real yoga this is your place. Orlando, no, Florida does not know how good they have it by having this studio as part of their community.

I've never met people who call themselves yoga teachers and leave students shaking and angry instead of calm and healed. Because I practice yoga nearly daily, I have been to a number of studios in Central Florida and can honestly say I abhor College Park Yoga because of the way both teachers working the registration table treated me on Thanksgiving day. A friend had warned me that the owners were young but had all these rules and were very controlling--that I probably wouldn't like it there. Anyway, as it was my first time at College Park Yoga, I had a $20 and asked for a new student form as well as for information regarding the price of one class. They very rudely told me to read the back of the form instead of telling me $X. I was running late, and simply asked again, ""well, I'm not getting a package, so how much is it for one class? I just want to pay now."" And they each condescendingly laughed at me and coldly replied, ""just read the form. Everything you need to know is on the form, just like we said"" No welcome to our studio, no good morning, no positive energy--just two smug jerks who wouldn't simply say, ""$15."" So I took the form and went to sign and read it, saying, ""I'm sorry for having asked this question,"" and a woman with long dark hair yelled at me, ""looks like SOMEONE is having a good Thanksgiving!"" Well, I was until I decided to try College Park Yoga. I left in disbelief and went to Full Circle, where I found a warm welcome and an easy reply to my question, ""how much for a class?"" I felt better the minute I walked into the studio--as it should be. This is a sham of a business if this is how it welcomes new students. I'll be spreading the word around Winter Park.

College park Yoga is a yoga studio I refer all my friends to. It is a good workout. My mind feels erased after class. This is a yoga studio that is worth running to.

They teach a challenging practice and have a way of making students that are new to yoga feel welcomed and regular yoga students feel challenged in all the right ways. All teachers are well trained and honestly kind.

I live 45 minutes from this studio but I go there every week to get my practice in.

This studio offers a lot in terms of yoga and the enjoyment of yoga practice. It is unlike many other yoga studio's I have ever been to in this area. It has a different vibe about it, very grounded and not superficial. There is something very genuine about Theresa and Calvin the owners and teachers. It is easy to love this place! If I would recommend a place to learn yoga, this is the only place in Orlando I would recommend.

Pros: light and pleasant atmosphere, knowledgeable instructors

.

Worst yoga experience ever - BY FAR. If there was a way to rate this less than ""eh"" I would... Theresea - the teacher refused to shake my hand upon entering class, wouldn't make any eye contact with me the entire time I was there, and assisted everyone in the classroom but made certain to skip over me when she got to me. I have been practicing yoga for a couple years in Orlando and am fully involved in the entire yoga community - which Orlando has a WONDERFUL, loving, and inspirational yoga community - truly has changed my life in so many ways. Through all my conversations with yogis and instructors alike I have found the majority have had similar experiences as I did - the atmosphere is full of ego from insturctors, cold, and unwelcoming to newcomers. I went into the class with an open mind but will definitely not be returning - I don't know how this studio is voted best in Orlando. Go anywhere in Orlando but here... I would hate for newcomers in Orlando or even to yoga experience this and think it is the best we have to offer... This studio has completely closed itself off to the rest of the yoga community and to have as bad a reputation as they do amongst all the other studios and instructors speaks volumes. It is their loss... don't waste your time or money on this ego filled, negative, un-yogic experience.

Cons: Unwelcoming, smug teachers, cold community

.

I have practiced all over the world and never had a studio/teacher be so downright rude. Cold, unwelcoming, and full of ego. Definitely not an example of Beryl Bender Berch who they say they studied under... Apparently they missed the point because this is not what yoga is about. I'm glad Orlando has a lot of other great studios to attend because I will not attend or recommend this studio to anyone.

was in town just for a few days..googled the ""best yoga studio in Orlando"" and then went to the next class...it was a group effort with the instructors...all were very professional and super enthusiast and willing to help in every way. Had a great full body workout and felt like a million bucks when I left. Price is competitive, environment was clean and pleasant to be in, everybody (instructors & students) seemed really happy to be there. I would definably make it my ""home"" yoga studio if I live anywhere within the area. If you haven't been yet..make it your business to get there and get some good stuff going on in your body. Have a Merry Christmas.

The studio is great - warm, rich wood floor, candles burning, buddhas and singing bowls all along with the best instructors - great music and great energy. The are always helping you improve your practice and are very dedicated and very passionate about what they do! i have recommended many people to go here and will continue too. What are you waiting for - just go you wont be disappointed.

I have been a student at CPY for 7 years. Calvin and Theresa are amazing teachers, who themselves continue to grow in their practice and thus they pass that on to their students. The community of practitioners is also what makes this place rock- students with hearts for learning and breathing. CPY is a place of serenity, a place to sweat and detox all the gunk outta your system, a place to get grounded, a place to call home. Come see why so many of us believe it's the best!

Calvin and Theresa made me feel right at home. There's no need to try to be a ""Super Yogi"" here! They want everyone to go at their own pace and will even help you modify the pose if you can't quite get it so you don't hurt yourself.
