I had a service call on my A/C because of a water leak that keeps occurring. The technician was so professional, honest and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem and gave me tips on how to maintain the system going forward.

We recently purchased an air conditioning system from the salesperson Matt. I must say that this was a totally different experience than we've had from other folks in the business in the past. Matt was most kind to us, but more importantly took the time to explain the various systems and recommend the one he felt was best for us. The most important part of this exchange was his explanation.
Obviously, we bought the system and then came the installation. Again, we were surprised by the installers Daniel and Ryan. Daniel explained exactly what he was going to do, explained the procedures and at the end demonstrated how to use the system. Both Daniel and Ryan were respectful and courteous in everything they did.
It's very obvious to us why American Air & Heat leads the pack in the Brevard County area. You have 2 more very happy customers.

Unfortunately, I did not obtain the names of the employees at your firm who assisted me.

Initially, the dispatcher was very helpful and advised that he would call me back immediately after my call to advise as to when a service technician would be available. I received a prompt call back indicating that the service tech would be arriving within about 30 minutes and he arrived right on time. I recently purchased a new air conditioning system from them & I am so happy! My old system was very old and noisey. It was very loud at night & was keeping us awake every night.
The new air conditioning system works great & is so quiet you barely know it's on. The workers did a great job & left the whole area inside and out very neat & clean. I heartily recommend them!

I just wanted you to know how pleased I was with your service today. This was my first a/c service call since I bought my home. Your sticker was on the unit, so I decided to "take a chance"-you know what a crap-shoot it is to find reliable service at a reasonable cost. When I called , I thought the $69 quote for a service call was an excellent bargain.
Next, you came on the same day I called! Thank you! Another point in your favor! Then you sent Micah, who is a true professional and a credit to your company. He immediately diagnosed a clogged drain. The best surprise was how thorough Micah was after he unclogged the drain and treated the system to keep it clean. He took extra pains to clean out the condenser unit outside, and then he checked the entire system. I know, this is what you expect your service employees to do, but he was friendly and patient with me-he didn't seem to mind my questions or the fact that I enjoy watching people doing their jobs quietly and capably.
Micah sat down with me, went over the itemized invoice, patiently explained the steps he had performed on my system, and went over the quote for a replacement system telling me the features of both new low-end and high-end systems.
I'm sure you know what an asset Micah is to your company, but I thought you'd like to hear it from a satisfied customer. You can be assured I will call you with confidence the next time I need service-or replacement-and I will also tell my friends they should be dealing with your company if they are not already doing so!

The equipment was installed by another company who did not install it correctly.

Nobody can make every customer happy, and it often depends on the individual service person. Fortunately, I got a good one who found the leak immediately, and although the price for repair wasn't cheap ($69 for service call, $100 to find leak, $170 to fix it, $25/pound for total fillup of R22 freon), my AC was fixed, and it's cool again. I had another company come out a day before and he didn't fix the problem, said it was a complicated several-hour process to find the leak (huh?), and still charged a small fortune -- for doing nothing except putting in new freon that leaked out within a day! Oh, and American Air coupons in the Yellow Pages will save you $35-40. But, if you need a new system, shop around!

AMERICAN AIR & HEAT OF BREVARD - FROM JERRY G. My air conditioner went on the blink around 11 PM, 7/27/10. I had to wait and phone American Air & Heat of Brevard the next morning because they were the company who had installed the unit. Although their hours were listed from 0800AM-8:00PM, I phoned at 7:30 and Mike answered the phone. He took down my name and address and set up an appointment between 1-3 PM and said if someone was available earlier, he would send them out. Around 10 AM, I phoned the office and a very friendly secretary answered and I reconfirmed the appointment. She also said if someone became available earlier, she would call me back. About 45 minutes later she called and said that MICHAEL was on his way and would be here in 15 minutes !!! WOW - was I happy !! When he arrived, I explained what the a/c was doing and he immediately said it was the capacitor - - went to check it out and IT WAS...He asked me how old it was and I said it was installed approx 2 and half years ago - he said it was still under warranty, charged me a basic price for the capacitor and half on the service call - - he was finished in about 40-45 minutes and did an excellent job explaning as he did the work. I was very pleased with the service and the price and would call them the next time anything goes wrong - - THANK YOU AMERICAN AIR & HEAT OF BREVARD and all the very nice personnel I encountered at your business !!!!Jerry G.

Had a service call from these "people", replaced and repaired, told I had a "tailgate warranty", and offered a "deal" IF I BOUGHT A TOTAL NEW SYSTEM he'd do me a favor and put this bill towards a brand new TOTAL SYSTEM! Their "fix" lasted less than 2 weeks, new tech came out, showed us faulty wire "job" and old part, he put on TWO capacitors because he didn't have the RIGHT one for our unit and one was old and dented, as it is WRITTEN BY NEW TECH, contacted "owner/Mgr" who was ONLY interested in who the company was that had to come out and REMOVE the "parts" their tech wired, tried to string me along until then, for more than a 2 week time frame, UNTIL I caught on. I offered to SHOW him the pictures of how the NEW tech found his tech's "repair and replace" "JOB" and the old parts they had just installed less than 2 weeks before, along with the WRITTEN WORK ORDER, about what the tech had to DO to repair what American Air & Heat of Brevard INC. had done. Again, ALL HE wanted, or the Owner/Mgr wanted was the "other Comapnys NAME, now with everything I OFFERED to show them, again all he wanted was MY GOOD FAITH and NOT TO COVER UP THE OTHER COMPANYS NAME when I faxed him their work order, new company. I told him, in GOOD FAITH, I ALLOWED them to come into my home, and they did a "real sorry job", all I received was one excuse after another about him being TOO busy to follow up, but could I wait...? and then some follow up nasty emails. I gave up answering him and playing HIS game. I WILL take this to court, small claims when I have the time, and follow up with the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber, they know not to worry though, lived here over 28 years, they are all for company/businesses, NOT the consumer, so will just keep finding places to give reviews. The workers were pleasant, respectful and did a splendid job; plus did not leave until we looked over the unit and our approval was given. Also about two week's ago a American Air/Heat serviceman notfied us that the 10 year old 2 ton Carrier bought from them was constantly icing up and major repairs would be necessary, plus the fan blade not running. But we cannot complain as we did get 10 years of very good service from it.
We made a call the American Air & Heat and Vince came and made a good check of the unit, and then sugessted that the best thing to do was to puchase a new more effiecient air conditionser and we did.
His honest and excellent advice, and complete explanaton of the situation made us make the correct decision.
The staff and workers are to be commended and deserve some recognition of their honesty and work performance. I always tell it like it is, Good, Bad or otherwise. In business the evaluation of employees can for various reasons, be left unrecognized, customers hardly send a complimentary letter, but I always do. With so much pressure in business, shaky, uncertain, conditions detrimental to it , I am very glad to be a customer of a long established firm in the area, and will recommend American Air/Heat to many others.

The installation of our new heat pump was accomplished expeditiously and professionally with no anamolies. The AC and heat work exactly as expected, and American Air & Heat even installed a new, more modern thermostat at no additional charge, thanks to estimator Matt Von Boeckman. Following completion of the work, the crew thoroughly cleaned up after themelves. Needless to say, I am very, very, very pleased with their service and highly recommend them.

I was becoming quite frustrated trying to understand how to adjust my thermostat. I could not for the life of me figure out what to do.It was like a breath of fresh air to find a service manager like Mike Palo to take the time and patience to adjust and explain the a/c to me. We have been customers of AA&HB for 6 years, and we have never been disappointed. They just installed a new 3 ton 18 SEER system for us. When the 16 SEER unit I had contracted to purchase turned out to be unavailable (from the manufacturer), they upgraded us to the 18 SEER at no charge. Their pricing was competitive and there was no pressure to buy. They had our new unit in and running within 48 hours of our old unit giving out. I am a happy customer.

I told them the problem and they charged me $69 to confirm it although the unit is still under warranty. Then they say it costs $200 to install because that isn't covered under the warranty. Then it took over a week to get the part but less than an hour to install.

Trying to save money the wrong way We check a/c and it was not the problem, we spent our time checking the duct work which was the problem. Customer finally replaced duct work and home was cooling correctly. Fan motor was over a 3 years later and not related to ductwork. System had 10 years Parts warranty we replaced motor and fan under parts warranty and only charged labor. We also gave customer option to purchase 10 year parts and labor warranty at that time to cover repair and they declined. Mike Palo Owner

We have had a Unit installed from them approx. 4 months ago since it was recommended. This unit has cost us approx. 6,000... so far it has broken 5 times!! They still have yet to fix the same leak! We did not buy a new Air Conditioning Unit for it break down every few weeks... do not let them install your A/C Unit! BEWARE!!

The reason we recommended replacing the system was to fix the leaks. Customer insisted on ??piecing? system together only buying one part at a time. We repaired leak in customers ??old piping? and never even charged him for it. We apologized and were sorry for the inconvenience and fixed the problem. Mike Palo

Facts about my comment:
1. Our old system was "75% Impacted" according to their repair tech and we decided to replace BOTH indoor AHU and Outdoor Compressor at the same time, with MATCHING units. WE DID NOT "piece the system together" by buying only one part at a time.
2. They did not test the existing copper under the house to see if there were any leaks. I was under the impression that it would be done and if they found any, they would inform me.
3. After multiple service calls, no leaks were ever found in the "old piping" and NONE of the service techs ever mentioned replacing a leak there.
4. After 1 month, the refrigerant have leaked out and the coils froze up. Literally a big block of ice around the coils inside the air handler. A service tech attributed this leak to a missed weld in the AHU connection to the copper piping and re-soldered it. His bubble fluid showed no leaks around that area, but his electronic "sniffer" continued to detect a leak. tech said "I trust the bubbles more than the electronic device" and left.
5. Two months later, the refrigerant have leaked out and the coils froze up, again. Different repair tech used the electronic "sniffer" to determine that there was a leak in the coils caused by a manufactured defect. Previous service tech should have found this. He ordered a new coil (under warranty) and recharged the system while we waited for the new coil to arrive.
6. A few weeks later the new coil arrived and the only repair date available was 12/24, but when that day came the repair guy "called in sick." We were going to have to spend Christmas day with all our family in the house, and the oven running without A/C. Remember that the outside air temperature that day was about 83. Fortunately, they were nice enough to send another repair tech to add more refrigerant so that we would temporarily be able to use the A/C during Christmas day. Surprisingly on 12/26, a two-man crew showed up at our house and installed the new coil.
7. About two months later the system began to freeze up again, and I called it in. The same repair tech who found the leak in the coil (Mike), determined that the leak this time was being caused by a busted schrader valve from when they installed the new coil. He fixed it and it has been working fine ever since.

Overall, the system works great, but their service has been bad. A new system should not have encountered so many problems within its first 6 months of operation. They could have saved themselves some of the trouble if they had completely fixed the problem in the first place.
I am glad that we had purchased the extended warranty, because I REALLY would have been mad if they continued to charge us for their installation mistakes. Rest assured, when the warranty runs out, or we move to a new house, we will be calling someone else.

all pretty good guys had a problem , they came over and took care of it as soon as they could. It took them a while but they fixed it at no charge to me and were plesent .

While calling several places to ask some questions about cleaning my a/c, prices for doing so, and what I might need to do to get it to work better, I was very pleasantly surprised at the conversation I had with American Air and Heat of Brevard.

So many other places were not only giving me outrageous price quotes for cleaning and recharging my system with coolant, they were also telling me I needed all sorts of things done.

When I called this company though, I didn't get any of that. The gentleman I spoke to advised me to wait until fall, when prices would be better, to get my annual maintenance done. He told me how I could do a little bit of cleaning by myself, and he told me to call back, using the coupon in the phone book, to get my system recharged w/ coolant for a VERY good price!
