My family and I were on vacation in the Tampa area this past summer. We went to Tarpon Springs, as my father had been stationed there many years ago when he was in the military. We ate at Mykonos on the second day we arrived in Tampa. Then we ate there again on our fourth day and went back again on our fifth day. We would have eaten there every day but we had other places to visit on our itinerary. We are going back to Tarpon Springs this summer, specifically to eat at Mykonos. I am going to have them make my favorite dish in bulk, which is Spanakopita, and ship it back home so I can have it whenever I want to, which will most likely be once a month. Being a Greek myself, I have eating Spanakopita all my life, but never has it been as delicious as at Mykonos. I try it everywhere I go, but it's just not the same (not even close). Wheterh it's homemade, from a Greek restaurant, other restaurant, or fast food joint, it does not measure up to Mykonos. Mykonos has won my taste buds, as well as my heart. I will be back again and again. Anyone that says otherwise is crazy!!! Also, I think Mykonos has been featured on Rachel Ray. OOPA!!!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Food, Always Busy

Cons: NONE

This place was recommended by the front desk in our hotel and we drove to Tarpon Springs to eat there. Paid for parking and went to the door of what looked like a nice, Greek, restaurant (duh). A woman literally locked the door in our faces, although there was a very large party just looking at menus in the dining room. She did not say a word, and turned away. The cooks could see us through the window and called to the hostess to let us in. She ignored them and us. There were just two of us and we went across the street and had a perfect Greek meal at Santorini. (see that review) There were only a few customers there, but they made us feel extremely welcome and not rushed. As we left Santorini, happy to have been turned away by Mykonos, the large party was just breaking up. There were several clergy in Greek Orthodox clerical garb. People in the party were speaking Greek. Guess Mykonos chose not to handle a table of two women when they had what must have been an important party of 12 or so. It wasn't the cooks or the party. Just the woman at the door.
