I went today to look for my sons first birthday cake, I found 4 cakes that i was asking a price on and size. The owner came out and started guessing the price and then changing the size of them. I found her to be very rude and unhelpful. I would never go there again. I went to housewifes and alysses and they were very helpfull.

When I went for the first time to Cake Plus I was very impress with the type of products that they can offer. Nina Torres, the owner was very helpful. I am very happy with their service and of course the cake was out of this wold. Thank you Nina.

My wedding was on Jan. 3rd. The owner of Cake Plus help us with the design of the cake. We had the greatest! If you are planning a wedding or any occasion go to Cake Plus.

As a wedding planner its important to have a good relationship with your vendors and work with people you can count on. Cakes Plus was reliable and go to work with. I do look foward to working with them again for an event. There cakes are very very good as well!

Cakes Plus in South Tampa is the ultimate in cakes. Not only are their creations works of art, the flavors are incredible. The owner truly loves her craft. I recommend them to all brides searching for that one of a kind wedding cake or anyone looking for only the best.

I got married on November 20. My cake was gorgeous. I had hand made sugar roses that looked soooo real! Unbelivable! Everyone at my weeding loved our cake. The pastry chef customized our cake down to the flavor! They have this specialty pound cake that is to die for. I would recommend Cakes Plus to any one who wants a cake to remember....love it!

Their cakes are so good. I recently ordered a first birthday cake for my daughter in November and i was amazed at the quality and work that went into the cake. They got exactly what i wanted down to the colors. The cakes not only look beautiful but taste unbelievable. Try thier house specialty cake!!!!

Cakes Plus was one of the only bakeries in the St. Petersburg/Tampa area I was able to find that offered rolled fondant icing.They offer a wide array of cake flavors, fillings, and icing to satisfy anyone's tastes. The secret recipe pound cake is absolutely the best cake I have ever had!Everyone is very helpful and you can see they are very passionate about their cakes. The gentleman who helped me on my first visit make recommendations that I would not have even considered. They make a wide selection of cakes for special occasions -- weddings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.If you do not have a special occasion coming up, I would encourage you to stop by the store and sample one of the many selections they have available daily -- cupcakes, mini cakes, and cookies.I was extremely impressed and will definitely be visiting again!

I had a slice of Cakes Plus cake at a co-workers home and loved it. My family bought our cakes there ever since. I went to get a cake for my parents anniversary in June and was treated like crap. Totally unwilling to work with me on what I wanted. She was condescending and simply told me how good her cakes were. I know that, which is why I went there, but she didn't want my business. She wanted to either sell the $1000 wedding cakes (which apparently she botches as well) or the assembly line cakes in the case. There are plenty of good bakeries out there that are in the same echelon that Cakes Plus claims to be, but they have decent customer service. Cakes Plus isn't as good as the owner believes it to be, and no business is too good to provide customer service. I would like to remind the owner that SHE works for her customers. Cakes Plus was the standard bakery for all of my friends, neighbors and family's birthday cakes, but after this experience, we were all horrified by the treatment and Cakes Plus has lost the business of at least 7 families.

We ordered and paid for our wedding cake for Oct 11, 2008. The delicious cake we tasted when visiting the shop didn't taste anything like our wedding cake. Cakes Plus delivered to us a dry cake. The fondant was hard and brittle. We had to SAW through it to cut it for our picture. We paid over $1000 for the cake that no one ate. We called the shop after we returned from our honeymoon to make a complaint. The owner said there was nothing she could do for us and hung up on my husband. She ruined a main feature of our wedding. Take your business elsewhere!

Customer service sucks!

Customer service sucks! They are very rude! I could not believed how the owner was talking to this lady as she went to pick up her cake and it was not what she expected to be. Her and another employee went back and forth on it, and then very rudly and with sacasim asked the customer, well do you want the cake or not? I just took too steps back and got in my car. I can care less about the cakes, customer service comes first!

I went there with no expetations, their cakes were amazing. not only beautiful but even better tasting. I would recomend their special pound cake it is out of this world. people were in line just to taste the cake again. Defenitely worth every penny.

if you are on any kind of budget, don't go here. they asked what i was looking to spend and when i told them, instead of telling me i wouldn't be able to get a cake THERE, they told me i would "never" find a cake for that price. hmm, publix gave me a perfectly fine cake that fit into my budget. there was no need for the people at cakes plus to treat me that way.

Great place for a custom cake!

I visited Cakes Plus in search for a custom Hello Kitty cake for my daughter's 1st birthday -- upon entering the establishment, I was greeted and spoke with the owner and baker. The baker (her son) sat down with me and sketched the cake I was looking for. I also sampled their secret recipe pound cake...which is to die for....OMG, so good. They are a bit pricey but well worth it as their cakes are masterpieces. I can't wait to see how her cake turns out...I'll definitely leave some more feedback once we have her party! I would recommend Cakes Plus to anybody looking for a custom cake, whether it be birthday, wedding, etc. They are fabulous!!
Pros: Cakes are exquisite...best "secret recipe" pound cake
Cons: A bit pricey, but worth it :)

Beautiful Designer Cakes!!!!!

I needed a birthday cake for my hubby. I didn't want to go to the typical (Publix, Target, etc...) those places are not creative and their cakes are too sweet. I found Cakes Plus online, I called them and told them I needed it same day, (I am a procrastinator) and they said to come in, they have Fresh Cakes to go. When I walked into Cakes Plus, I thought I walked into the Food Network Headquarters. They have everything you could want or need. The cake I picked out was beautiful, round, rolled in fondant, personalized and tasted wonderful!!! My husband was so impressed. I must mention the staff was very nice and polite and the cost was very reasonable considering all the time and effort to make what I picked out (I would have paid the same at (Publix) and got a generic looking cake.
Pros: Beautiful Cakes, nice people working there
