I've been coming here since 2010 and don't have a complaint yet. I work with Shad when I come in and he's courteous and quick. Needed a part for my Prius and he made sure I got it in on time and my car is back running perfectly!

I came in on a Friday and even though it was busy I was greeted promptly and my car service was fast. Austin Owens helped through the entire process and was kind enough to check in on me frequently while my vehicle was being serviced.

Gatorland Toyota is absolutely the best. I have been dealing with them for 10 years and every single time I have had a wonderful experience. I have bought several vehicles there and they have always treated me with respect, courtesy, and fairness. The price has always been exactly as discussed with the salesman and never had any hidden fees or surprises. I have recommended them to many friends who also bought vehicles and had the same positive experiences. After shopping around they were glad I sent them there. Every time I brought my Tundra or Rav4 in for servicing everyone was very professional. They always did exactly what they said they would and never tried to do repairs on things that didn't need fixing. For example, just yesterday I took my truck in because it started overheating. They could have easily told me it was the water pump or something but all it needed was a thermostat. I knew that going in. Sure enough they said that a thermostat was all it needed and explained it to me and the price before they did any work. I was on my way in less that 45 minutes. I highly recommed Gatorland Toyota!

Had been talking back and forth with the internet sales department. Made an offer on a new Corolla. After a few days and a few more emails back and forth, I got a reply that due to great sales this week, he would match the price in my original email "out the door". I called to speak to him personally and to verify that it was a final out the door price. He assured me that it was but that the offer was only good for that day. It was Christmas eve. So we drove into Gainesville to pick up my christmas present, test drove the exact car I was picking up. Verified again it was that final price. Went to sign papers and he raised the price $2000. Said his out the door price didn't include some of the fees. We left without a car. Thanks for wasting my time on Christmas eve.

Business Response:

Hi Lori, My name is Tony Cutrone the General Manaher at Gatorland Toyota Scion. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, although difficult to hear. At Gatorland Toyota Scion, we strive to make the car buying process as smooth and stress-free as possible. I would like to apologize for making you feel as if we have wasted your time due to conflicting price quotes. When we run incentives and specials, whether they be offered in-store or by the manufacturer, we must keep in mind that there will always be additional processing fees. Once again, I would like to thank you for taking the time to express your frustrations as this will help me evaluate our internal processes and staffing. At the end of the day, we want all of our customers to leave satisfied in the vehicle of their choice. Please email me at tcutrone@gettel.com so I can personally try to rectify this situation and hopefully have the chance to earn your business back. Thank you, Tony Cutrone

Don't waste your time here unless you like being lied to, cheated, and having your time wasted. The sales staff have not reached the maturity of 5 year old brats. The manager actually stomped out of the room like a kid throwing a tantrum when he did not like my offer. Imagine the stereotypical crooked car salesperson times ten.

These folks are blatant liars. If you do end up buying something here, check your contract very carefully because they will be doing everything they can to cheat you out of more money. Make sure they itemize all of the charges and ask what each one is for. Check their math (they added an amount that was supposed to be subtracted on my contract) and watch out for bogus fees. Get everything in writing. Be prepared for them to waste your time.

This dealership is just plain crooked. There are plenty of other Toyota dealerships within an hours drive. The extra drive will be well worth it.

I purchased a vehicle from Gatorland Toyota. I was told the car was 100% and without a doubt the nicest in the country. The car was anything but. The tires were awful, to the point of unsafe. The staff AND the management were the absolute rudest people I have ever dealt with. Every aspect of Gatorland Toyota is horrible. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this place as you can. Trust me, myself (and from the looks of all the other bad reviews) and others have learned the hard way to stay away!

Bought my new car and prices changed as we went along... Don't allow"what do you want for a payment?" BIG mistake! Tell them what you want to pay for the car.. PERIOD! If trading; get the reasonable amount it's worth. When you sign.. be prepared for the hard sell Finance Manager, Don't go for the unnecesary add ons!
Service Dept. is fair rating wise. Friendly folks; but slow. LONG wait for an oil change!

The salesman I dealt with was an admitted cross-dresser names Alan, he is a horrible sleazy salesman. He lied to me over and over and was just pushing my wife and I to sign the papers. And the worst part was when he talked to my wife he would use a woman's voice and a mans with me. Very awkward. This guy told us everything we wanted to hear in order to get us to sit down and start paperwork, but once the paperwork started everything he had told changed, total price monthly payments both went up and the warranty went down.... STAY AWAY FROM GATORLAND TOYOTA

Stay away from this dealership. This is the worst car buying experience I have ever had. These are shady people to deal with. The internet had ad for $189.00 month to lease a Prius. I was told best they could do was $300.00 (Bait & switch). They told me I could get mileage of 18,000. After papers signed and insurance switched, the salesman changed it to 15,000. I dealt with Ryan Fisher, sales mgr. initially who was not nice and would not return my calls. I never could get the General Manager Mr. Cutrone to call me back. HIs staff refused to let me talk to him.

Beware this dealership. I negotiated a price for a car there and received a document listing the sales price and what the sales person said would be the full amount after taxes and fees. I gave them a check for the full amount as a deposit and made an appointment to finalize the paperwork and pick up the car the next day.

Despite the appointment, they made me wait three hours the next day before the accountant was "unavailable". During those three hours, I and one other customer appeared to be the only customers in the store, and the accountant sat alone at his desk the entire time I was waiting.

When they finally gave me the paperwork, I found that their "estimate" from the night before was too high. They padded their estimate of the out-the-door amount from the night before and then increased the sale price of the car in the actual paperwork. The sale price of the car that was listed on the paperwork was higher than the price that we had agreed on the night before, and there was that typical crooked dealership addition of a mysterious "Electronic Filing Fee". Because I caught their "error" before signing anything, they recalculated based on the original price. They would not remove their precious "Electronic Filing Fee" though. (I recommend going to the dealership in Deland. They quoted exact amounts of all taxes and fees by email and were very straightforward with their offer. Unfortunately they did not have the vehicle I wanted so I could not purchase through them.)

After the sale was over and I had the car at home, I discovered that in addition, the paperwork from the first night had a subtraction "error" that increased the negotiated price by $10 in their favor. I am pretty sure the "mistake" was intentional, but let's say we give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was a mistake: If a dealership is so stupid that they cannot even perform simple addition and subtraction, not exactly a ringing endorsement either.

In total, Gatorland's deception resulted in my paying them $70 more than I would have paid had they not been deceptive. It really is rather pathetic that they feel this is a good way to do business. They are loosing way more than $70 in any service and future sales that they might have gotten from me had they just been honest.

If you must go to this dealership, avoid the sales person named Sarah, bring a calculator, and go thru the paperwork with a fine tooth comb.

First of all, ask for Eugene as your "service adviser." He's knowledgeable -- I use to work on cars -- and he wants you to have a good and reasonable experience. By reasonable, he's not going to blow smoke, pardon the pun, or promise that the repair is going to be cheap. He knows his stuff and he is pretty much accurate concerning standard costs. I'd double the time -- this is an area where all service folks are overly optimistic. If you have time to shop and ask around, I'm certain that you can save 20-25% on auto service charges compared to dealer service departments. I've been to Gatorland Toyota for an entire engine replacement as well as minor services like wheel alignments. Having cared for a family of cars for 40 years, I know that dealers are more expensive but on the whole, they are more dependable and there are far less hassles. If you are new in town, you are going to pay a premium to learn who is indeed trustworthy. For today's repair, I called around and got quotes that were 30% lower than Gatorland but I also know the auto repair franchise that low balled me has a reputation for luring folks in and then they "sell up." It's guaranteed that they will find other things that need repair. If you have time, space and skill, the best solution is to fix your car yourself. Otherwise, go to the experts and that is not auto repair franchises.

Where do I begin......It was a Saturday and my check engine light had come on so I went to the dealership because I thought they are the experts and I wouldn't get ripped off by some shaddy service shop. I go in and am instructed that I need to make an appointment to get service. Ok, so I make an appointment for Sunday at 1:00 and return the next day for my appointment. I tell them that my RPM is spuratically going up and the car jumps and runs bad at times. I need an oil change and my front windows stopped working as well as my check engine light is on. The guy that is checking my car in says well let me drive it. He takes it around the block and comes back and says it's not doing it now. OOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKK I say but shouldn't you hook it up to something because my check engine light is on? He says that it's really a waste of time for me and he makes the same amount of money regardless of what's done. I'm thinking.....what about the oil change or a diagagnostic? He states the windows run around $350 each for a motor. He says call him when it starts doing it again. I am a college student who works full time and want it fixed when I am there. So I call my mom and she says take it somewhere and get a diagnostic test to see if it is dangerous. I go to autozone and get a free one and find out there are 8 codes that come up. 3 of which are a leakage problem and tells me that it could be dangerous. So my mom calls the Toyota dealership to talk to the manager of the service department and let him know of my experience. First the guy who checked my car(Jimmy) answered the phone and questioned my mom to the point that he knew who I was and said he couldn't find the manager and she would have to leave a message. Anyway the manager did call her and she explained the situation but he just said that the diagnostic test from Autozone is not the same as theirs and went on to say that Sunday was not a good day to bring in a car with a problem......What??? They made the appointment!!!!!!! "Their certified mechanics don't work on Sunday" He did say it should've been handled a different way and that he would take action against his employee but then got a little attitude when she mentioned that we may not bring it back to their dealership because she didn't trust them. He knew it was the 2nd trip to the service department and didn't even offer to give a discount or free diagnostic or anything to entice us to bring it back. If Toyota is so concerned about getting trust back from consumers then they need to prove that they want it. I wouldn't deal with this dealership again if my life depended on it ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Called in to ask for price on a new car, I was told a price that was $7000 above the MSRP. When I asked how is this possible I was told because this car was "hot" in the market right now. When I confronted a different sales I was told a price that was still $4000 more then then MSRP. I turned around and call Toyota dealership in both Orlando and Tampa and the price they gave was just $1000 above the MSRP. I'm sure they are just in the business to make money, but when you mark thing up as far as $7000 higher then other dealership, I think you have some problem here. I'm for sure won't be getting my car from this dealership.

Just got my Prius this year and must say that I LOVE it.

Gatorland Toyota does have its problems. If you go there BE CAREFUL who your sales person is. I can only recommend Brent Biehl. He was awesome. Fought the Sales Managers from trying to screw us over. He was what made us buy the car there. I would not trust any of the others.

If you're looking for the stereotypical sleezy car salespeople with the smoke & mirrors routine, look no further. Come on down to Gatorland Toyota for the show.

They didn't want to give me a price until they got information from me, no doubt to figure out how much to try to charge me. They reluctantly gave a price. They wanted to just give me a monthly payment amount. They also gave me an "out the door" price that included a hidden $400 in dealer fees. They can charge whatever fees they want but they should be upfront about it.

I'll buy my Toyotas elsewhere. I left feeling like I just got done talking to con-men.

***Wow****We have been on a waiting list for a Prius locally (Lansing MI) for about 6 months. We have 500.00 invested for this waiting list and are still getting a run around. My mother in law called Ross Murphy at Gatorland and we will have our car in two weeks. Unbelievable. Ryan Fisher the sales manager called and confirmed this transaction. Both of these employees were wonderful. If you live in FL this is the place to go for your car purchase. I am so impressed. It is not just the fact we can get our car but the followup from Ryan and Ross that makes it comfortable. They returned calls and made certain that we were informed of all the details of the transaction. This is more that we have ever received from a car dealership. We are not affiliated with Gatorland nor do we know Ryan or Ross. We just know that they have provided a service above and beyond what we have experienced in the past. Please consider this dealership when looking for a car. We think it will be worth your effort.

I have bought 4 vehicles from Gatorland Toyota. The most recent one being purchased last week. Every purchase I was treated with dignity and respect! I have read some of the other comments posted and wondered what the other side of the story was. I dealt with Ryan Fischer one of the sales managers, and he was an absolute treat to deal with along with my salesman, and the rest of the staff. I have recommended all of my friends and family members to Gatorland Toyota, and they have all raved about their excellent treatment. With the negative stigma attached to car people, I figured they needed some deserved credit where credit is due. I will continue to do business with Gatorland Toyota because of the the excellent buying experience they provide.

I purchased a used vehicle from Gatorland, the salesman was ill equipped and the manager rude. I love toyotas and made the mistake to continue after being treated poorly. I purchased a matrix, loved the car, and also bought the bumper to bumper coverage (which, by the way, is useless). A few months after purchasing the car, I needed to travel to a colder climate. The service department did not use a windshield wiper fluid that would resist freezing, resulting in a cracked reservoir. Gatorland would not pay for the repairs. They also would not pay for the tires that have tread separation after only 6 months of owning the car (25000 miles total on the car) even though it was evident the cause was from being left on their lot too long before purchase. I have been treated rudely by both service department employees and management. Good luck if anything goes wrong when you buy from them. They will do everything to avoid fixing problems they are the cause of and have little experience with customer service.

I went to Gatorland Kia to buy a car because an ad on the radio said the dealership offered $5000 minimum trade-in allowance. After getting through all the paperwork to buy the car, we were told the trade-in allowance only applied if you were buying a Kia Sedona. That was a deal breaker and we left. As we were leaving, the ad came on the radio. No where in it did it say "on select models" like the finance manager told me. I know the ads are designed to get you in the dealership, but they should at least be truthful!!!

I bought my first brand new car last year from a Toyota dealership back home in St. Petersburg, Fl. Since I live in Gainesville, I go to Gatorland to get my oil changed, check ups etc...Today I went to get my oil changed at the Toyota dealership, like I always do. Here is the letter I ended up writing to the president of that branch:

Today I went to your dealership to get my oil changed. I called and asked for the hours of the service department and was told that they were open on Saturdays until 3pm. Due to my busy work week schedule, the only day I can come to your dealership to get my oil changed is on Saturdays. I??m not always able to make it on Saturday mornings, like I usually do. Today I hurried to get there, but did not end up arriving until 2:43 P.M.

A nice gentleman greeted me, and I asked if there was still time for me to get my oil changed. He said of course, and he would go get someone to come and take my information. After waiting for two minutes, a young blonde girl, with a clip board, came out and greeted me. After she asked if she could help me, I told her that I was getting my oil changed, since I was a thousand miles over. She kind of gave me a look and let me know that we closed in ten minutes. The way she said it made me think that she was able to get me in, but since they were closing in ten minutes, I would be inconveniencing her and whomever else that was going home that day. I told her that a service man told me that I could get it done, and that it was only 2:45 and they closed at 3pm. She then went on to tell me ??well we ARE opened during these hours on the weekdays...? and then she proceeded to ramble off the store hours. I let her know that those hours wouldn??t help me, and I said thank you and drove off. I looked back to see another man come to talk to her, which I??m sure he was wondering what just happened. I then saw him circle around and try to wave me back in, but by that time I was already too upset and had already made up my mind that I would never go back there again. My formal complaint has to do with the hours of operation. If you say that your service department is closed at 3pm, but refuses to take anyone after 2:30, than you should really say that you close at 2:30, because that is what time you stop taking customers. That little incident was enough to make me never bring my Toyota back to be serviced. I bought my Toyota in St. Petersburg, Florida. It came with free oil changes, but I told them that I lived in Gainesville, and would never use the free changes because I wouldn??t drive back to St. Petersburg just to get my oil changed. I still chose to come to Gatorland Toyota, because I loved my car so much and wanted to be a loyal Toyota Customer. Now, I will probably never by a Toyota again, because I would not want to deal with people like the blonde girl that I encountered today. I have worked in the service industry for a very long time, and know how important good customer service is, and I hope that your staff is trained to know the same. There are a million and one places to get your oil changed in this town, so people that choose to come to you, even if you are a little pricier, come because of the value and the great service that they expect to get. Thank you for reading this letter and I hope that you don??t lose any more customers in this way. Have a great day.

The Customer is always treated with respect and dignity.

This is a quote from their website. Which they are apparently "committed" to. However not all their employees are "committed" to it.

The sales manager Ryan Fischer was rude, condescending and pompous. He needs a HUGE lesson in customer service. He was very demanding and kept asking question that I was unsure about and when I said I don't know, he kept on insisting I answer, which made me feel very uncomfortable.. I have never met anyone so mean in my life. Oh and when we asked for his superior's name, he said " I AM THE BOSS" ...so full of himself. We got the name from the front desk, though he did eventually come out and give it to us himself. Even when I told him he was rude, he did not apologize. A simple "I'm sorry if it came that way", that is how a manager should act, instead of "HOW AM I RUDE?"

we're buying a HONDA

The salesperson on the other hand was very nice and helpful.

Gatorland Toyota is a specialist on Toyota and Kia. I got a deal from them earlier this year. It was a 1999 Toyota Corolla for 5000 after tax. No problems during transaction. Salesman and sales manager polite and convincing. They are also very good at bargaining. Please check them out if you don't believe it.

When I wanted to see some new and used cars earlier this year, I went to this dealer. The waiting room is not that customer friendly, only a couple small tables and small round chairs in the corners. The representative served us is very nice, but it seems that they don't have a lot of test drive models for you to choose, and we didn't get the car to test drive the same day after waiting for about an hour.

Beware this dealership. I negotiated a price for a car there and received a document listing the sales price and what the sales person said would be the full amount after taxes and fees. I gave them a check for the full amount as a deposit
