I've decided to review most of the South Fla. moviehouses after perusing other big cities' sections -- it seems Miamians are lazy when it comes to reviewing the many great attractions around us.

Take Regal South Beach 18. This gorgeous, large, and architecturally pleasing cinemahouse should have more info than it does currently.

The positives are almost overwhelming. But let's start with the negatives.

Parking is a nightmare anywhere on SoBe but especially so for Regal's movie-goers. There is a carpark nearby, but even with the stamp it is costly ($4/3hrs). If you happen to forget to stamp your ticket at the Customer Service desk, it is $12 for the first 3 hours. If the lot is full, you'll have to take your chances parking your vehicle at the too-few metres around it. At the time of writing, the alley located to the side of the theatre, which leads to Lincoln Rd mall proper, is under construction -- so the metres are even scarcer these days.

Factor in at least 30 minutes prior to your session, due to this congestion.

Another negative is the cost of the ticket. It is a full 2 dollars more than any other comparable movie-house, though it does offer senior/student discounts and has matinee pricing too.

Other than that, next to AMC Sunset Place 24, the Regal SoBe 18 is perhaps the best chain theatre in all of Miami/Mia Beach. The Eisenberg hot dogs are the tastiest of any cinema I've gone to (that includes other Regals, as well). Like all Regal cinemas, they carry Coke products -- and an ample selection of nachos, pizza, and candies, though I have never tried them.

What is special about this Regal, is that they also have a cafe -- Cafe Moro carries espresso/capuccino, as well as more elaborate sandwiches, including the Club. There are high chairs in shiny metal, with reclining chairs in plush purple nearby -- creating a rather glamourous atmosphere. One can people-watch as if on Lincoln Rd. mall, with no one hurrying you out.

(No, there is no wi-fi available, indeed, laptops are not allowed -- at least, one manager told me so when I was using mine. The outdoor balcony on the 2nd/3rd floors have been closed, allegedly due to patrons raining trash unto the sidewalk)

The movie fare offered is both blockbuster but also art-house. This is THE place to view foreign films and indies.

Lastly, there is a good token-arcade on the 2nd floor, for kids, though like anything in SoBe, kids are not very prominent after 8 PM.

Whenever I have had a problem, management have always treated me well, in fact, often giving me complimentary tickets for my troubles. I mention this since another reviewer wrote about the rudeness of staff. Not more, nor less than any other place, at least in my opinion.

Regal South Beach 18 ranks as a very special cinemahouse here in SoFla. Definitely make this your first destination to watch a movie.

PROS: Ambiance. Elegant decor. Cleanliness. Range of movies.
CONS: Parking. Price. Snob factor. Not kid-friendly.

I belong to the Regal Club that gives me free popcorn, sodas, and movies. The seating and sound are great. Take the local bus because parking is difficult here.

Well this theatre is right on Lincoln Road where you can find the greatest restaurant, bars, or ice cream shops before or after your MOVIE. This cinema is not filled with crowds or children being rowdy like most cinemas in MIAMI; it's nice quiet and has a deli with some tables to sit eat a bite and maybe read some before your movie starts. Try the super nachos there great.

Clean, convenient, walking distance from most of South Beach, its a great fun time with family or your loved one. Just one BIG complain, their staff. Very unpolite people!

Simply one of the cleanest theaters in south Florida. I go to this one versus AMC at other locations because of the croud. This ones usually never packed and its mostly families so its very easy to get nice seats or a quiet theater. Also no sticky floors here! I have not reviews the concession stand but it looks pretty well stocked with all the movie favorites.
