5 Stars: Spin Cycle is a gainesville original. (by Ghost I.)

Spin is a great bike shop. Ted's been around forever in Gainesville and will work with you on getting the right bike. Sometimes talking to the random staff won't elicit the best results, but overall it's a good, friendly place.

Don't be in a hurry when you go. Stay and chat it up. Pet the dog. Talk to Gary and get him ranting about something. Oh yeah- and get a bike. They know what they're doing there.

3 Stars: :( (by angie h.)

I had a horrible experience. Ive heard the rumors and they are true. Over priced and poor selection. No new bike smell in the air = poor shop. Only in the south. This place wouldn't last in Boston!!

5 Stars: Local Business is where its at (by Chris H.)

Simply great atmosphere, just as much a fun place to hang out as a place to get repairs done. Staff very friendly and helpful, there was great music playing, and everyone was taken care of. They also had very cool shirts that were printed in house. Independently owned local businesses are definitely where its at. Prices seemed competitive and the freak bikes were cool too!

5 Stars: Gainesville Bike Shops (by Andy S.)

Went in just to get a tube changed out and I ended up staying for almost an hour. Lots of cool stuff in that huge building. I found out there was a printing press and a huge assortment of used bikes and parts. Was a totally fun experience.

5 Stars: Good experience (by Gala K.)

I ordered a bike and was told it should be received in a week. Within 10 days, which I consider a reasonable time frame, I received a courtesy call informing me that it was ready to pick up. Re: the shop's casual appearance, after all, it's both a shop and a work space. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and courteous. I love my bike!

5 Stars: Spin Cycle, Gainesville: A place with great patina. (by Jim B.)

If what you want is corporate clean, glitz and glamour, this place is not for you... If, on the other hand, what you want is a place that knows bikes, and will walk you through the process of picking one out, will build one up for you to try out before you buy, and will happily adjust it for you with no BS... then you want this place.

Sure, its nothing fancy... but I like that. I also like that the dog greets you at the door, and the place is frayed around the edges... that kind of casual comfort tells me that the main focus in on the bikes. And I like that half the place is a screen print shop in the back. IMO, the world needs more local businesses with this kind of vibe.

4 Stars: Knowledge and experience (by Charles D.)

Its nothing fancy or pretty, but thats not what counts. The folks here have the knowledge and experience to cater to your every bicycling need. New bikes, used bikes, they have it all and the equipment to go with them as well as the ability to do repairs. Prices are competative, sometimes a little high.
