No idea how this place even ranks above a 50% on Citysearch. Chips & salsa - basic Mexican and hard to goof up were cold, stale and greasy. Our dishes arrived at the table cold and were un-flavorful. Drinks were strong and service staff

This is probably a decent place for happy hour, where you are provided strong drinks at a good price, along with a festive environment. I would not recommend the restaurant for dinner/lunch. They need a new chef or to re-look at their

Great fun place for bithday or other celebration. Good drink specials. Great for a crowd. Food is so-so; lots better Mexican restaurants in town. But, who cares if you're having fun? Great way to start a tequila-fueled weekend with friends!

there are several reasons i have been going to Paquito's for years- the food in delicious (especially grandma's recipes), their mojitos are made strong yet sweet, the owners are great people, happy hour pricing is low.... overall, best Mexican food in all of Miami (including homestead)

Saw the reviews and decided to go for happy hour. Great salsa and 2 for 1 beers...can't beat that! Went for dinner a couple weeks later and everything was bland. I mean, everyone's food was bland. The food is too expensive to not have any flavor. I will recommend the HH though. Fill up on the salsa and skip the dinner.

the food was terrible , overcooked, chicken was hard, very oily Yuck!
The service was even worse than the food , the waitress could not handle the large group and forgot some orders, Eventually the forgotten platter arrived after other Diners had finished after complaining twice.
Complaints to the manager who arrived after 15 mins where met with a "couldnt care less"attitude and not interested in addressing the problem with poor service

The Salsa and nachos were OK. The Desserts were tasteless

I would rate this as the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in with the worst Service. By Comparison , McDonalds is a better option

Pros: none except for maintaining the diet by not eating the ghastly food

Cons: bad service, greasy food, poor quality

Paquitos has been around for many years near the intersection of Biscayne and NE 163rd St. In fact, before the strip mall was built years ago, they were there in a stand alone, but very small, building. It was great to see the developer keep this local fixture in place. They feature a popular happy hour bar along with a very good size dining room, which on the right nights have a roaming Mariachi Band. The food is all cooked to order and tastes great. My favorite is the Burritos in mole sauce - probably the best mole sauce in town. I've never been disappointed in the taste or portions of their entrees or drinks.

I Must say that this is one of the best places for mexican food. The atmosphere is great , live mariachi on the weekends. Service was great, we did not need to make reservations. I felt I was eating at my grandma's house. The attention from servers was impecable . Don't miss it!!!

I went by this place because it was rated #1 and I was not happy with the food or the service our waitress came by two times to take our order and drop off our drinks No refills, No asking how our gross food was. She didn't even bother to give us our bill we had to ask someone else to help us. Stay away from this place unless you like wasting your money!!!!!!!!

I have literally tried just about every mexican restaurant in Miami looking for the most authentic taste and Paquitos has taken the lead every time. The food as great. The pico de gallo (a salsa of fresh chopped tomatos, onions, cilantro, lime and some hot peppers) they serve before the meal with tortilla chips is delicious and mildly hot. Since I have tried just about everything on their menu, my favorite dishes are the mole poblano and enchiladas in in any style (if you are into that)! Another thing they are excellent in is with their Margaritas! Seriously the best in town...no one compares!!! I travel 1 hour and 30 minutes atleast once or twice a month for their Mole and Margaritas!! Oh yeah.....and if the night is young and starting on a good note, we take the party to their bar/karaoke spot where they will have a dj playing music to dance or sing along to.
I always find parking there, they sit you pretty fast, their mariachi band are the best in town, the waiters speak english and spanish, their prices are very reasonable. Good for group parties but keeping in mind that the space can be a little tight because their chairs are these big wooden mexican/ santa fe looking things and the tables are pretty big and heavy too, plus the place gets full. Paquitos is also great for dinner dates with that special someone, especially because they have 2 seater booths.
I just remembered, the last time I was there, I was sitting at the table across from Matt Damons table. !

Been going there (since '90) when it was just a little ol' building on the side of the road. They're authetic & the best margarita pitchers made with Sauza! (yum!) Homemade salsa... just great!! Food, drinks, everything es mucho bueno!! It's a north Miami secret tucked a way in a corner! "Cheers!"

Good deals at happy hour (except for the blah, not-too-fresh food at the bar.) Coctail waitresses are very sloooooow, but pleasant. The beer is ice cold, served in a bucket. Margaritas are so-so, but the happy hour prices are super. Stick to the beer-the Mexican beers are all excellent, you can't go wrong. But eat first, because the free food they serve is pretty bad. The restaurant is a step above Taco Bell- not at all spicy-very bland, but it's nice and quiet in the booths.

i agree with the above post. the salsa verde is the most amazing salsa ive ever tried. very tangy and spicy. the food is superb with big portions. drinks are great. theres even a live band that plays mexican music at your table. not my favorite thing, but lots of people ive taken there like it. i dont live in FL anymore, but if i visit for a week, i am there 2-3 times.

My wife and I love Mexican food and wherever we travelled we would look for Mexican Restaurants. The best food and the best variety can be found in Paquito's- in Miami (actually North Miami Beach). It is run by a Mexican family and is authentic as they come. The fajita's are done perfectly. You have to ask for the salsa verde however- its worth it. Give this place a try- you won't be disappointed.

Editorial from

Quietly tucked into the obscure corner of a strip mall, Paquitos perhaps serves the only Mexican food in this North Miami Beach neighborhood. Exceptionally tasty margaritas are a major draw for college students at the nearby Florida…
