As a local resident to the area, there are much better restaurants for quality, service, and attention to detail. e eat at Moon Fish Saturday night 2/27/10. In brief; our Apps were never served before our meals,. We sent our meals back and were told that we would not receive the same meals back, the kitchen would re-make our dinners. After about 20mins and we received our apps our meals arrived at the table. The food was luke warm and the edges around the plate showed a crust line that indicated the food was only placed under a heat lamp to hold while our apps were being served. I complained to the management staff a young man and woman working and I was told that this restaurant is one of the best seafood restaurant in the USA. I would strongly disagree that this restaurant is anywhere near a top 100 in the USA. There are so many other choices for great service and food in the Dr. Phillips area. Don't waste your money to be disappointed with this experience. Try somewhere else. -Ken Mayse Orlando,Florida

Couldn't decide on what to eat...others at the table had swordfish, crab legs, lobster, mahi mahi, but I had a mix of an appetizer and sushi. Huge helpings of food. Kevin was a great server! You need to go see him!

Not worth the money. Average entrees for steak or seafood are $35-$40, not counting drinks, appetizers, etc. Service was slow & mediocre and the food took forever. A small sushi order of 2 items took over 25 mins. The salads seemed rather cheap - chopped lettuce & tomatoes with some cheese thrown on top. The overall presentation of food wasn't impressive, especially considering the price point. It was also extremely hot & stuffy in the restaurant. They have fires in the middle, which put out a lot of heat, but didn't bother to turn down the temp, so we were probably eating a $150 meal in nice dress clothing at a very uncomfortable 82 degrees. Overall, I was not impressed. They need faster, more attentive service and more attention to detail.

I recently dined at Moonfish with some friends on a very busy night. I did have to wait about 20 minutes for my table, but it was well worth it! My 3 friends and I were greeted by our waitress (Kim) within mintues of sitting. She was very pleasant and was well educated on the menu. Our drinks were delivered right after we ordered them, as well as our appetizer platter. The calamari was delicious! Our dinner was excellent except for my steak was a little undercooked. My waitress offered to put it back on the grill for me. I had it back to my table in about 5 minutes. I was very pleased! The manager also came by the table to check on our dining experience. Very professional staff! I will definitely eat at Moonfish again in the near future. For great food in a great atmosphere with GREAT SERVICE, check out Moonfish in Orlando.

The only good thing we can say about this restaurant was our waiter. The coconut shrimp(appetizer) was overcooked, the steak had very few edible bites and the green beans were not cooked or even blanched. There are too many good restaurants in Orlando to ever have to settle for this one.

we recently dined at Moonfish and were instantly impressed by the hospitality displayed from all employees . The valet were polite and professional and the host staff energitic and friendly greeting each guest with a warm "Welcome To Moonfish".
While we waited for our other guests to join us, the bartenders were quick to recommend an infused Washington Apple martini that was the best I have ever tasted. The sushi chefs were so entertaining that we were almost tempted to have our dinner at the bar instead of moving into the dining room.
our server was attentive and knowledgable and guided us through the dinner with expert recommendations.
The generous portions were served hot and boxes were cheerfully offered at the conclusion of our meal.
The dessert tray was fantastic featuring the most amazing selections of sweets, I regretted not saving room and ordered two to go.
I recommend Moonfish to everyone and look forward to making it our "regular" spot.

I live in Orlando and seldom visit the restaurants that typically target convention business. I did happen to visit Moonfish last week to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately at a table close to the hostess stand (very helpfull since my mother uses a walker) My mother was thrilled to see that the dinner menu had "Happy 80th Birthday Agnas" printed on the top!
The server was attentive and knew the ingrediants to every dish on the menu, my mother has many allergies and we were relieved to know that she would not have any adverse reaction to her meal.
The meal was prepared exactly as ordered and we were impressed by the manager stopping by our table to make sure everything was "PERFECT".
The experiance WAS perfect, my mother got to keep the personally printed birthday menu and we all had a memorable time.

the sushi was awesome and the freshest in town. The seafood and steaks were delicious. I thought the service was very good, and I was impressed when the managers came by to check on my dinner. I would highly recommend Moonfish for the person who really wants a great meal at a fair price. My wife says lobster crusted seabass was amazing

Happened on this restaurant while looking for something else. My wife and I shared an appetizer, Crab louie, whixh was excellent ! The main course on the other hand, was not so good. The mashed patatoes that came with both of our entree's were cold, the Lobster medallion that came with my Sufr & Turf was overcooked and tough.
Would not go back.

We went there based on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. We ordered the halibut, which was dry and overpriced. We also had the ribeye, which was excellent. So the food is sort of hit-and-miss. The service was good, but not exceeding expectations. Overal, it's a decent restaurant, but probably there are better restaurants in town.

I am not fussy when it comes to food, and I eat pretty much everything. I left more than half the food on my plate because my Mahi Mahi tasted so bad. My gf loves shrimp more than she loves me, she left half her shrimp on her plate. Her salmon was raw, her shrimp was extremely salty/overseasoned, and the seafood cocktail appetizer was drenched in some kind of vinegrette. Even my mashed potatoes were seasoned too strong. To top it off, I paid more here than at top of the line New York City restaurants. The only good thing about Moon Fish was the service. We even read the review before we made the reservation, saw that the food was below average, but chanced it anyway. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Pros: service, decor

Cons: expensive, bad food

The decor and ambiance were incredible but what began as awe turned into "awww" as the night progressed. What was given as a 15 minute wait for a table turned into 45 and after we were seated, we were told we were at the 'wrong' table and had to move. For a Monday night, it was amazingly crowded and extremely loud. Good for a large group, not intimate dining. We sat for an additional 10 minutes before our waiter greeted us and gave us water. On the upswing, our food was delivered to our table at appropriate intervals and the wait staff was generally courteous, just obviously overworked. What was requested as medium-well turned out to be medium rare on both our steaks and our pork (which was a surprise) but overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone with other dining options.

Cons: Expensive, Slow, Average Food

I visited Orlando in July and my timeshare recommended this seafood restaurant if I wanted a place not so touristy. The other restaurant recommended was in Downtown Disney. We found the service to be outstanding, actually we had 3 servers waiting on us. Not too stuffy! You will be seated wearing shorts. Food was excellent. We had salmon, seabass and steak. We were not given a sales pitch to order additional items. Pricey menu however it is not ala carte.

This one is for the tourists - nice atmosphere, bad service and worse food. I had to send my "fishy" tasting seafood back, only after the server argued how fresh it was supposed to be. No manager came to the table, no one apologized. This is the kind of place that wants you to splurge by spending a lot, but do not back it up with quality food or quality service.

This is a place that could rate with the best of them. The servers need to be taught how to wait on tables and then follw up with service! Food was very good, but after being in the resturant business for over 26 years the servers need help
