This library is new and very nice. However, unlike most other public libraries I have been to where if you live outside of town you have to pay an annual fee of $30 or so, this library wants $75! I think thats crazy! Yes, the library looks great and has a lot of neat stuff, but the books and computers are just the same as the smaller libraries where you can put holds on books if that library doesn't have it in stock. Great if you live in Fort Walton, otherwise, go to one of the smaller ones.

We visit libraries a lot and this one is extremely small. The kids section is ok, but there's not much room, the selection is tiny, and most of the staff acts as if you are intruding if you want to check out. The main area has computers and even a home schooling section, but again, it is crammed in there. A lot of the books seem to be extremely old and out of date, so if you are looking for current information on a subject, I'd go elsewhere.

This library has been opened for less than two years, and the city poured so much money into it that it looks more like a palace than anything else. It has many resources, complete with movies, cd's, computers, internet, books, magazines, children's sections, displays, etc. The staff is very friendly and the library is gorgeous. It is huge, clean, and has a warm atmosphere to get smart. I think that in Okaloosa county, this library tops the cake.

PROS: Beautiful library, full of good resources
CONS: None
