My dog Harley was having trouble walking and he was only a puppy. I brought him to Ocean's Edge and Dr. L'Aimee waved the pendulum over his head and said he had been poisoned. She charged me TONS of money and made me buy all these crazy supplements. She then got a chiropractor gun out and shot him in the spine. He started crying and I know he was in pain. When we left the vet, he was dragging his legs and I had to pick him up and carry him out. We ended up taking him to a neurologist and his spine is basically shaped like a rollercoaster due to a genetic deformity. He was NOT poisoned, like she had predicted with her magic pendulum. By using the chiropractor gun on him, she must have hurt his spine worse. I am SOOOO angry at this lady because she basically "guesses" what the problem is and you buy into it because of her confidence. DO NOT GO TO HER!! SHE IS A HOCUS POCUS WANNABE. I completely believe in holistic treatment, but she has no idea what she is doing- and the animals are paying for it.

I don't care what names you want to call Dr. L'Amie she is absolutely the best vet ever! Our little Yorkie was in the emergency clinic near death all weekend and saw three different vets who could not diagnose him. One wanted to do exploratory surgery! We took him to Dr. L'Amie first thing Monday morning and she diagnosed him right away... and yes... she used her holistic approach and had him back to his old self in a couple of days with supplements... not surgery. Had it not been for Dr. L'Amie I do not think he our dog would be here today! My bill was one fraction of what I had spent at the ER! I would never go to any other vet!

I think the clinic is wonderful. They all are friendly, kind and concerned. I recently lost my baby to cancer and Dr. L was the only vet that I went to (New Smyrna Beach to Orlando) that made any effort to save her and was always available to me and called to check on her. Her prices are reasonable and does not force anything on you. She suggests what she feels will help and is very honest about what will not help. She's my new vet.

Dr. L'Amie basically killed my cat due to her waving of magnets over my pet and myself versus practicing basic medical procedures to open an airway that was blocked. My precious pet had foreign material in her esophagus and stomach, yet Dr. L'Amie said she had a psychosomatic illness and that I was playing into it! Dr. L'Amie gave her more vitamins and pills that would not go down due to the blockage, so she never could get better. The option of x-rays and/or some other proven diagnostic test was NEVER even offered until I finally demanded it. After sixteen days of poor quality medical care under Dr. L'Amie, I finally got my cat under the care of expert specialists in Greater Orlando; however, it was too late and my baby had to be put to sleep. My cat was not even two years old!!! The negligence under Dr. L'Amie's care has been devastating and I would NEVER EVER recommend her to anyone!!!!!

Dr L'Amie is the best and I can't ever thank her enough or her Daughter Crystal they really helped. I was really scared after my Thanksgiving. All natural meds are so much better for you and your pet.

It's true, she does swing a pendulum over the injured part of a dog to determine what kind of medicine to treat with. Very New Age-y. If that's your thing you'll love her. She is also into "non conventional medicines" and tries to make you think it's not an option to buy it....that your dog's health depends on it. It was a very odd visit to say the least. I thought she was very nice but wouldn't go back.

Went to HHS and purchased a spay certificate for my sheltie puppy in 2008. She was hitting the 7 month mark and I was anxious to get her in any of the places on the list to do the spay. The pre-exam went well and they told me I needed to have the dog shed a few pounds and come back the next day for the spay. At the pre-exam I purchased a $15 Comfortis pill, which the receptionist forgot to give me. The next day I went to drop off my furball and they were supposed to call me when I could pick her up. About an hour after they were supposed to call me they CLAIMED that they called both #'s I'd given them (house and cell phone #) and that nobody had answered. Neither phone's caller id stated a missed call so that's a total lie instead of just saying they got busy and forgot, etc. and here I am freaking out thinking the dog died from being put under, etc. Never gone back since nor do I wish to! Poor service!

Read the review titled "Animal Awareness." That should tell you all you need to know about this "vet clinic." Dr. L'Amie is not a helpful and compassionate vet. She's just the opposite. She gives false diagnoses of people's pets so you have to pay for medication your pet does not need. Then the medication "needed" that she prescribes to make your pet well again does not work. So you have to bring your pet back in to the "vet" which ends with another costly checkup and more unnecessary medication. This goes on and on until you have spent so much money on medication and vet visits that you really do not know what your pet's diagnosis is or if it even needs one. So then you realize what she is doing and have to take your pet to another vet to get a true diagnosis, IF ANY. I am not exagerating on any of this. It has happened to me and many other pet owners I have talked to who have visited with Dr. L'Amie. Most have recently switched vet clinics and are happy with their new vets. I am too!

Dr. L'Amie and her vet clinic are currently under investigation for treating human patients! If you do not believe, here are some articles to prove it:

http://www.seminolemagazine.com/MikeHolfeldB09PeoplesVet.htm

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19262816/detail.html

PLEASE...If you honestly care about and love your pet(s) dearly, do NOT take them to this vet. You will regret it.

****PET-PARENTS****ALERT****MUST READ****
If your beloved pet is in the care of this office, or if you are considering this office for future pet care, you need to reconsider. Dr. L'Amie and members of her staff are undergoing investigation for improper and inhumane practices/treatment of their patients. Prescribing "supplements" for your pet (but not informing you of the true diagnoses), treating human patients, not telling you all of your pet's test results so that you continue to bring them back each month when they are "sick" again, boarding your pet during treatment/procedures, & not giving proper care, "adopting" out or "selling" other people's pets while the pet is kenneled at their facility-informing the pet's parents that there were complications & sadly, they "passed on", vet technicians coming to work under the influence of whatever drug-prescription or not, vet technicians who never had any education, but were "trained" by Dr. L'Amie, animals sharing kennels when they have a highly contagious illness...I will continue to keep all interested informed as the investigation continues. STOP TAKING YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC-FIND ANOTHER VET IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS ONE!

I would NOT take my dogs there again, She wants to sell you Supplements for your dog based on Swinging a Metal Heart with a chain over your dogs head, that's right! I am not kidding, please do not bring your pets that you love to her, she will bleed you dry, take every penny. can you say ( QUACK )

She was on the evening news, she was treating humans from her vet office and was in trouble.

My experience was for surgery on a small dog that was not easy but was completely successful. Very pleasant staff to assist. Very caring vets. Prices are reasonable for the community.

Dr Lamie' is the best. She is one of the few Vets around that does alternative medicine and can save your pet lots of scary tests and medicines that don't work. She truly cares about each and every animal that walks through her door. She is very compassionate with rescue pets and her staff is friendly and caring too! Krystal, at the front desk knows her stuff and always remembers you and your pet! Their prices are a bit higher than some, but believe me, it is worth every cent! Check them out!

When I moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1996, I first went to Ocean's Edge because I had a young male cat who was on human heart medicine for cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart). He had been diagnosed as a kitten and I was warned he would not live a normal lifespan. I needed to get the medicine prescribed so I had to get him in to a vet. We saw Dr. L'Amie, who was bright and exuded competence. She heard no murmur, and sent us to Orlando for an ultrasound to be sure. She was right, he was fine, and he hasn't been on any medication since then (He is now 16). She offered us a multiple cat discount without us asking, which we gratefully accepted. Her approach was always common sense and minimalist. She was never in a hurry to medicate an animal and always sought to avoid surgery. One of my cats tore a ligament in her knee. Dr' L'Amie told me that I could have surgery if I wanted to, but that my cat would be able to naturally compensate on her own, with time. She sent me home with pain medication which I gradually tapered off and my cat never had to undergo surgery.

When we got a puppy a few years later, she advised us that if we gave her raw soup bones to chew on regularly, we would never have to have her teeth cleaned. She is 12, her teeth and gums are healthy, and she has never been anesthetized for a dental cleaning. Additionally, she was a very scared dog, and she advised us to socialize her at a local puppy playground. When my dog showed fear during thunderstorms, she recommended Valerian Root, a natural herb, to help calm her without narcotics. I have followed her advice all these years with unwavering results.

One of my cats developed an aggressive, malignant form of bone cancer. She told me I could take her to Tampa for chemotherapy, which I did not want to do. She then advised me to sprinkle shark cartilage in her food to help delay the progress of the tumor. My cat lived another year of quality life.

When it comes to a vet, or any doctor, trust is the underpinning of the relationship. I trust Dr. L'Amie with the health care of my pets, and she has never let me down.

I cannot thank Dr. L'Amie enough. She is a talented, caring, and dedicated healer, and my life, and my pet's lives, are better because of her healing abilities.
