Putting my son in daycare & choosing the right facility was not a decision I took lightly. I feel so blessed to have found Home Away From Home. As much as I wish I could stay home with my son, I am grateful that he is being taken care of by your caring, professional, & knoweldgable hands.

From learning to hold her bottle, to walking, speaking and painting...the art projects, the cooking activities, trips to the pumpkin patch and to reading complete Dr. Seuss books to me before bed every night...Each and every staff member has played a significant part in Isabella's life and I am FOREVER grateful not only to have you as a childcare provider and preschool but to include you as FAMILY. I truly & sincerely love you all. Thanks for an awesome 5 years!!!

My husband and I recently moved to this area with our 4 month old son. We don't know anyone in the area and relied a lot on internet "reviews" to select our daycare. Home Away From Home seemed to get decent reviews - some good, some bad. Not only on this website, but on others. Because of the proximity to our house, and the fact they have webcams, we chose to enroll our son at Home Away from Home. BIG MISTAKE!!!!

The first day, I diligently watched the webcame (I work from home so I had it up all day). They didn't interact with my son at all except when feeding or changing him. All day, they moved him from toy to toy, to the crib to the floor, letting him play by himself. When we picked him up, they had only fed him twice in the 9 hours he was there, and his diaper was FULL - so heavy it felt like a brick. Trying to be an optimist, I thought maybe it was just a bad / busy day. NOPE. Every day, this pattern continues. They don't interact with the kids, and they come home dirty, wet and hungry. I've talked to other parents in the infant room and they have the same issues.

I did mention to the front desk staff the issue I had with the lack of interaction. And since I said something, they seem to pay more attention to my son.

A few other issues I have with this place - they pack the kids in. I know the capacity is 16 infants with a 4:1 ratio, but to me, that's too many kids in one room. There's a total lack of communication. When I pick him up in the afternoon, I'd ask how his day was. Since the teachers in the room don't seem to speak English very well, I just get a "good" response. There's no communication except for the paper that says what time they fed and changed him - which is almost impossible to read, and my husband and I have to spend 15 minutes trying to figure out the last time he ate.

Be advised - you have to give "Written 2 weeks notice" when you want to withdraw your child.

I pay $220 a week for my son to attend here. I could move him from the floor to the crib to a toy and not interact with him at home all day for free.

We have chosen another childcare option, but I wanted to write this review to hopefully help other parents not have this awful experience with their child.

Home Away From Home has been a blessing to my family. My children come home happy every day!!!! My daughter graduated from VPK at this center and has sailed through Kindergarten, First Grade, and showing the same amazing performance in Second Grade. The teachers not only gave her the social skills she needed for Elementary School but her academic skills are at the top of her class. My son still currently attends and he is well on his way to success in Elementary School as well. Every day he has a new story to share and something new he has learned. The facility is so clean and well maintained. The teachers are very educated, patient, caring, and nurturing which gives me a great sense of peace in mind while im at work.

My son has been with the school for five years now and had the opportunity of being a part of 2 different locations due to us moving. Moving for us until now him going into kindergarten was made number one priority that we were near a home away from home location. Marlene and Laura both of which whom I have been given the opportunity to know personally through my own business of 3 years are exceptional choices in running the north lake blvd. location that my son will soon come out of into kindergarten sad to miss all of his teachers and friends all of which credit need be given to these directors and owner that made 5 years of my sons life the most pleasant and stress free that a childs first 5 years could possibly be. I do not have unrealistic expectations to which an atmosphere of all children under the age of the necessary communication skills to let anything surprise you. There job has been to develop the skills they need properly and through living proof my son I can say now is as intelligent as a child I'm kindergarten-first grade. And he is sweet and kind and talks frequently about how much he loves his teachers Mrs. Kathy, Mrs. Adela, Ms. Natasha. And when he speaks about anyone else he has the respect of a young gentlemen as I would expect him to have meaning they have done an amazing job at overseeing times for him I had to work and run a business and they have not only made him so happy but me as well. I suggest that everyone tour the school and ask questions with a realistic mind and not like these other comments some people have left coming from an inexperienced parents point of view. Nothing will ever be perfect anywhere or with anyone but home away from home will be missed by us and by so many of his friends and parents that I have met along the way even as babies like my son. That is such an amazing feeling to look around and say there are so many children even teachers and parents that were with him from the first moment I trusted him as a baby with strangers I put enough faith into to prove that it was an excellent decision.

I'm in need for a daycare for my 3 year old daughter and I've heard pros and cons about home away from home from this website. I visited the school in April of 2012 and Marlene the director showed me around the school, offered to let me look through student binders, work books, and curriculum while explaining different aspects of the montessori school. Marlene, really seemed engaged in her school and her students while she gave me a tour. Marlene informed me prior to the tour I would be on a waiting list and she would call me as soon as they had an opening. Well even though she never called back, being that I need a daycare for my daughter I called the school on July 12, 2012 and spoke to Marlene and she informed me they had openings, I was thrilled. I informed my husband we needed to go to the school, so he could let me know what he though of the school, because I really liked there set up, and everyone was so nice and helpful especially Marlene. On, July 13, 2012, my husband and daughter met me at the school around 2:40pm, and Marlene was there I made it seem like I never visited the school, because I wanted her to give my husband the same information she gave me. I was totally wrong, she was rude, unprofessional, and would not answer questions I asked her. One of the main questions was in regards to my daughters education, since this is a montessori school???? I asked Marlene how was the schools structure with montessori, she informed me that I needed to read 3 or 4 pages about montessori and she also gave me the price brochure for the school. The more questions I asked, she could not answer one, she cut me off and kept referring me to read the packet. My three year old daughter cried her eyes red, because she wanted to look around the school. Marlene advised me in a rude tone to come back on Monday after 9:30am, b/c the kids were sleep. My husband was upset, b/c he couldn't believe how rude Marlene was. The Asst Dir Laura was there and she looked embarrassed and didn't know what to say. Please don't send your child to this school the reviews are so true. This review comes from a real parent, who truly cares about children and there education. If Marlene and Laura read this review they will know who I am. If you would like your business to last Marlene needs to know how to deal with people. I think if she was rude with me and my family, how does she treat the children????? That's scary, I don't want to know the answer to that question. But, she really needs help...... I gave this center a one star only, because the outside of the building was clean. Also, please go to palm beach county health inspections there are to complaints on there basically for not paying attention to the children and not having adequate staff.

My daughter attends Home Away From Home in Palm Beach Gardens, she is 11 months old and will be turning 1 at the end of this week. I am very happy with the care that she has recieved. My daughter gets so happy when we arrive at school. She jumps into the teachers arms and gives them hugs and kisses. The teachers are extremely loving and caring and make it a point to greet her in the morning when we arrive. Actually, when it was time to go home, she cried because she was sad to leave her teachers. Although, my ego was hurt it's amazing to see she has such a strong loving connection with her teachers. We just had a parent/teacher conference and all the information I was given was very insightful and educational. I get e-mails when upcoming events are going to take place. They also provide you with a monthly newsletter, letting you know what the curriculum will be for each month. Administration is always happy and accommodating, they really make you feel safe about leaving your child there. The owners make it their priority to keep the school clean and updated. Yes, the school has policies set in place but if you know how to read you should be fully aware of them all before signing up. Their policies are reasonable and let's be honest, any successful buisness has them. I highly recommend this school to other families looking for a loving and educational environment.

My son attended Home Away From Home from infancy to age 5. My experience there was nothing but the best. By the time my son was three he started to read and is now in the gifted kindergarten class at his school. Throughout the years at HAFH his teachers were loving, compassionate and very well educated. The staff turnover was very low..if none at all. Throughout my whole experience at Home Away From Home my son was hardly ever sick and he LOVED coming to school. On days off he would cry to go to school. Even to this day when we go back to HAFH for the occasional drop in when the public school is closed, he is thrilled to come back and see his old teachers and friends. This truly has been a Home Away From Home experience for our family. I strongly reccomend this school to other families looking for a safe, nurturing, and educational experience for their child.

The surveillance cameras is what sold me, but this "school" is an absolute disaster! My toddler was only in the Young Two's class for two days and I had to pull him out immediately. On his first day my son came home with diarrhea that has lasted a week (and had to go to the hospital), because they didn't read his allergy form and gave him cow's milk twice even though I clearly said he was very allergic. The second day, he came home with a severe diaper rash - that was red, and had open soars with puss coming out. Also, when I picked him up he had a huge bruise across his face from getting pushed on the concrete ground.

I watched the cameras and I never saw the teachers on the floor reading/playing with the children and they didn't do any artwork with the class while he was there.

When I contacted the owner with my concerns, she was very very rude and defensive. She called me a liar and she said, "My standards are too high and good luck finding the "perfect" school!"

My neighbor had concerns with the owners rude behavior as well, when her toddler came home with three bite marks on his arm from another child and the owner was unapologetic and she had to pull him out too!

Please don't waste your money or your time! The owner is money hungry and doesn't care about your child's safety or learning. The teachers don't care either!

I was referred to this facility by someone who has her child in "drop off" status, which means you can drop off your child a few days a week, so I was very interested since I do not need full time at this time. I called the Wellington location and spoke to Kelly who was extremely rude as she persisted to tell me how they do not accept part time drop offs for under the age of 2. The person who referred me has a child under 1??? Already mixed message with this place and I havent even stepped foot in the door!

Wow if you can't tell that the last two reviews are coming from the very desperate new owners or staff members from "Tree Top Academy" formerly PLC... It's obvious that these new owners are worried about Home Away From Home and the challenge that they are to this new management of this school. Considering that Home Away From Home has scored top in "school readiness for the past 4 years" and is a "Accredited Gold Seal School" they need to get the facts straight. (TTA How could you have scored on top when you just took over the school). HAFH is comfortable in size and has the proper amount of staff and children in classrooms. They are full and there is a good reason for that "THEY ARE THE BEST" in the area. They do not need to bad mouth any of the other schools in the area because their reputation speaks for itself. The summer camp program is like no other "children are out every single day in the summer on field trips" and have NEVER ever been witnessed playing video games of any kids in the school. Check out the summer camp calendar and seriously don't use these forums as a way to get more business because you are that desperate for business (we have plenty of children in the area to attend preschool) use it as an educated tool for parents to choose for themselves what school is a GOOD SCHOOL and lies are really not the way to go people can find out for themselves whats true or not. For the new owners of Tree Top Academy / Chesterbrook remember you are and always will be a franchiser and will never have that private school feeling or TLC.

Pros: There are alot of caring daycare workers that do work here
Cons: No education. If your child is 2 or under this would be the perfect place but any other age above the education is just not here.
Even though you get free lunch and thats easier your child will lack an education. You must try PLC (now called tree top Acadamy and just look around) You will see learning objectives, you will see that they are memorizing all the site words they will need to know for kindergarden, they also have speech. Which allows the child to speak in front of the class. Seriously, If I wanted a school I would look into this school. If you have been there before you will now notice it has all new management. And they playgrounds out match any playground around this area. You wont find a better school. Also if you have older children that have days off they get to go on field trips when they dont have school. At home away from home the older children are left sitting on the floor playing nintendo games and getting no interaction with other children and are bored

Okay, I went there for two years. The staff seems okay but they do not teach your child. Be aware. They are not a school that teaches the kids. The only thing my child learned was how to write his name. When I would pick my child up during the day the entire tiny rooms they had were full of children. My children got lice at least 3 times. the entire class was infested because they have too many children that they cram into a tiny shoe box. If you want to spend a tiny bit more money you really should check out other schools and see what it is exactly they teach your child. They charge you for a book fee at this school and there is no book for your child. There is no way a teacher can teach 30 children of 4 year olds. And let me tell you something. If you have a problem with any way your kids are being treated they will not go out of their way to help you. They will take it out on you and yell at you and make you feel like you as a parent mean nothiing to them, The The teachers do not treat all the kids with the same care and love. They bring their own kids to school with them and everybody else is second. Please dont take your children to school here because when your child starts kindergarden they will not be prepared. You should try Tree Top Academy or Chesterbrook Academy . Tree top used to be PLC and they are under new management. They are really cleaning the place up and they scored 198 out of 200 on the testing for children going into kindergarden. It may cost slightly more but it is HUGE and they have small classes so the teachers spend one on one quality time. They have words they learn and blackboards and they teach them new stuff every week. Another thing you need to know is that the girl in the office goes on these websites and pretends to be a parent and writes reviews so the school looks good. Unbelievable!

I have been a stay at home mom for the past five years and now have to go back to work. My son is only 5 months old and I was horrified when looking around at some of the daycares that accept infants in the area. When I went to Home Away From Home I felt so much better. The infant room was bright and clean and the teachers wear booties to cove their shoes. One of the teachers was playing with a baby on the floor and encouraging him to turn over. I immediatley felt happy and sad at the same time. Sad that I had to go back to work and might miss some of my child's "firsts" but happy to see that they were just as excited about a baby doing new things as I would be.
He's been in the infant room there for a few months now and we couldn't be happier. The first few weeks I didn't get any work done because I was too bust watching the cameras (yes you can actually see them in their classroom). But I know that he is well taken care of and loved!

We absolutley love it there! Yeah packing lunch is a pain, but we know that the state approval process takes time. We went through that at another daycare with our son. My daughters teachers are super sweet and she loves her class. She came home the other day singing a song with letter sounds, it was so cute! The building is beautiful and clean and the prices are really reasonable. We plan on sending our older son there for camp this summer.

Wellington Location
Pros: Great teachers who are funny and silly and great for the kids.
They do arts and crafts and drawing. They also learn letters and great songs for remembering things.
Great kids, good mix of children, and they all have so much fun.
ALL teachers in her classroom and front desk speak English, as well as the teacher for when I pick her up late. I wish they would speak Spanish half the day so that the kids would soak up more information and learn new languages!
The school is clean, the classrooms are decorated perfectly for the little munchkins.
The playground has play areas brand new, with bikes and balls and a running area. Also has slides.
MY daughter loves it and thats what is most important to me.
To dislike the business portion of HAFH but I love her classroom and how structured and sweet the teachers in her classroom are.

Cons: I pay full price every week no matter if they are closed for 3 or more days.
They try and sell more programs for the kids that I believe should be free. (their only 30 minutes a week!)
They promised me food for breakfast, lunch and a snack before I signed up, which is why I chose this place over another school in Royal Palm and I feel they lied and the price remained the same and its 6 months later and I'm still bringing my child's lunch to school, probably the most disappointing thing is they lied to get me to join.
Out of no where went peanut free-and only one child in the whole school has an allergy supposedly, and most of the children only eat peanut butter sandwiches (picky eaters).
Sometimes the front desk (business side of the operation) does get snappy, which i feel they can be rude at times, but like any lady is nice most of the time.
They let staff bring their kids to school that sometimes are sick, sets a bad example, but don't we all do that anyways, builds up immunity.
I was told the school was going to be Montessori 8 months ago and has yet to be that way.
The cameras are not positioned for the whole school, so at times it appears your child is missing.
The daily reports are seldom, I wish they were more informative...I heard at Cambridge they do a whole sheet of paper printed on what they do all day and add comments about the child.
I would recommend this place but only if the deceitfulness stopped from the Business portion running the place. Otherwise I tell people the people this when they ask me how is it.
Take a tour and ask other parents! Thats the best you can do.

I toured the Wellington school and I wonder how much they paid the people for good reviews! The assistant director is rude and I was stunned by her attitude towards some of the teachers! Believe me, I have had my child in other schools in different cities, this school does not meet the standards of an excellent school!! Beware of what you read parents...Home Away from Home is definitely a poorly run school!

After reading some of the reviews, I had to respond to some of these silly reviews. It's a new school that may have had it's glitches like any other business that recently opens. What I can say is that the staff is incredibly nice and alway greets you with a smile, the school is amazing and we couldn't be any happier with our choice. I am the mother of twin girls and a FT nurse at Palms West Hospital and I can't say enough about the school. We did our research and even tried 2 other schools in the area and nobody compares to HAFH. The school is well seasoned since they have several locations in PBC and the cameras give you the security you need as a parent. I have never heard a teacher speak in any other tone but sweet to the children and as far as the Montessori Curriculum, they actually have a certifed Montessori Trainer with 21 years experience in the school training every teacher and obviously it takes time to introduce Montessori to the classrooms. They are teachers not miracle workers. Give them a try and you will see. Parents expect instant gratification and it's just not possible. The classrooms are all done and operating and again just like any other new business it does take time to fill a school of that size. The funniest was the playground comment, the school has 2 playground areas with 2 big over sized playground sets, bikes, tunnels, roller coasters, swings and much more what else would you like to add to the playground? Home Away From Home is truly a Home Away From Home. This school is one of the best.

I am a first time mom who has gone through significant problems and finally was able to become pregnant. I have a 6 week old little boy whom I was devistated about leaving in childcare. After my first day at the Wellington location, I had some concerns about staff and feeding time. I sent an e-mail to the owner whom immediately called me back. She made me feel secure with my decision about HAFH. She explained the process in detail and made me feel great. She stopped into the school and literally took a picture and sent it to me of my son. She also held the baby and put her under the cameras so I could see her which made me feel so much better. I dont know much about childcare but, I think that was pretty amazing considering she has 4 schools to run.

The new school in Wellington is beautiful. The staff is unique and really give a great impression and sense of unity. My 2 year old daughter was attending another local Wellington Pre School and I was not happy. She immediately took to Home Away From Home. I could not have asked for more caring and compassionate teachers who truly look like they love what they do.

While touring the new school in Wellington, I was surprised to hear an adult literally screaming at another adult. It did not give a good impression of the school! If the adults are screaming at one another, how do they treat the children when a tour is not around! I also feel their fees are far too high for what you are getting. Not a school I would send my son to! I will definitely advise my friends to stay away from Home Away From Home! Also, we were told there was a Montessori classroom, which there is not!

I am writing about the Wellington School. Granted it is a new school, but it is very disorganized and unappealing! Front desk staff is totally unprofessional and not very helpful. I had a tour of the school and the rooms were mostly empty (why?), the outdoor hallways were unappealing as the children would be going from the heat of the outdoors to air conditioning (I could imagine my child coming home with several colds during the year!). I noticed the teachers cleaning the tables with cloth instead of paper towels, quite unsanitary! The playgrounds lacked equipment and were small! Overall, I would definitely not recommend this school to any of my friends!

If you want to have your children attend a school whos owner is rude and unwilling to pay any attention to the parents, have fun. You will get nowhere with her or any staff involved. My daughter was subject to a teacher with a violent history and came home with 4 accident reports within 2 months. The teachers do not watch your children. They let you think that you can watch your children on cameras, when there are many areas that are blocked from view. Oddly enough, a major injury my daughter suffered was in one of these areas. The teachers are allowed to bring their own children to their classrooms, and for obvious reasons get a lot more attention than your children will. You will pay a very high price, only for them to take the most random days off. They average about 12 days off throughout the year. Christmas is expected..but Teacher Work Day??? Come on, this is DAYCARE. My experience began very good with them, I never was late on a payment and thought it was a great fit...and then these things occured. Good luck to anyone who feels these things aren't a big deal.

Beautiful school. Friendly staff. Adorable and well-behaved children. My favorite feature is he webcams so the parents get to watch my class. Coming from the Kinderdance teacher at 8 different schools in Palm Beach County, I would happily send my child to this school.

The children in this school scored on top in PBC. A main teacher is always proficient in English maybe at times and aid will speak spanish.. These usually are caring helpers that should not be discharged just because they don't speak perfect English.... The curriculum is one of the best in the area. These are usually parents that drop off at 7 am and do not pick up until 6 pm and expect to see the same teacher in that classroom at that time....

I was on the waiting list at many schools in PBG and could only get into Home Away from Home (now I know I why) but the teacher seemed great and the school looked brand new and the cameras were a great sell but I soon realized that education was not on the priority list, in fact only one of the teachers in my sons classroom spoke English which is very difficult when you are new mom who wants to have a relationship with the people who care for your child, the great teacher I met in the beginning did not even last a month and the owner was not very understanding when I complained about the language barrier. All in all I would never recommend this school to anyone and hope that you will look elsewhere for quality education and caring.

My son attends the Montessori School. He has been there for about 3 weeks now and he absolutely LOVES it! He has learned So Much. The teachers are WONDERFUL and Truly do Care for the children. Most of the teachers have been there for more then 15 years. And the BEST Part of it all is that I know that my child is safe because I get to SEE him ALL DAY while I'm at work, through the internet :o) I Love this School!!!
