Being from Austin,TX where the TexMex is #1, Las Margaritas in Gainesville,FL of all places is #2 and we LOVE IT. Even the beers are out of this world, the tall drafts are great

As the title says, this is some of the best Mexican in Gainesville. I love eating here. The food never takes long. Their enchiladas suizas is one of the best things on the menu, in my opinion. Also, their 32 oz. beers are delicious!

las margaritas is definitely my favorite restaurant in gainesville, and perhaps my favorite place of all time to eat. the food is excellent, the prices incredibly low, the service prompt and friendly, and the food excellent! oh, did i mention how great the food is? the menu is extensive and caters to both the carnivore and the vegetarian alike. the maragaritas and sangria are fantastic. i still crave the warm chips and homemade salsa served at every visit and my stomach is growling at the memory of the melt in your mouth enchiladas that made las maragaritas the first place i wanted to go when eating out. i now live in philadelphia and i am surrounded by amazing cuisine, but i have yet to find the cheap, flavorful, comforting mexican food that las margaritas served up on every visit. make sure you save up for dessert (and ask for two spoons) because the fried ice cream is to die for!

Pros: great food (though not 'upscale'), cheap, great service

Cons: can get crowded on weekends

Real good mexican food. Of course their chicken fingers and fries are fried, what's in a name. Best salsa in town and a really good menu.

PROS: Beer is cheap too!
CONS:

we go here at least twice a week! (no offense to the above review, but chicken fingers at a mex restaurant...???)
their salsa is great - plenty of cilantro - and the chips are always fresh. chicken morelia is one of my favorite items (double breast of chicken with melted cheese and chorizo sausage) along with their beef tacos - the lettuce is very leafy and green (perhaps it's romaine) and makes a big difference in the flavor. a hotter salsa is available by request and it's also homemade.

the prices are good and the staff is very cordial (and mexican.) :) i highly recommend.

PROS: salsa, fresh everything, 32 oz. dos equis draft
CONS: very habit-forming
