I guess I will begin by saying that, the day of the wedding the Don was still pink, I did in fact get married, and it was beautiful.
I'll begin by saying that when you go in for your initial appt they are fantastic, and make you feel like you are very important. This lasts until you enter into a contract, then they don't like to answer emails timely, they don't seem to care, and often you get attitude. I could go on about the year planning the wedding and reception but lets just say it was AWFUL, and often very frustrating. I chose the Don Cesar because I wanted perfection and I was willing to pay for it, however they did not deliver. They finally gave me a new coordinator and things got a little better. We met her at the tasting and during this we chose our meal and viewed the suite. I was happy with the tasting and said the suite would be perfect for my BM and I to get ready in because it had adequate mirrors and lighting as well as access to plug ins. The weekend of the wedding our room ( that she had told me would be ready early weeks in advance) was not ready. I was told several times by a front desk employee that "check in was not until 4". I said yes I understand this but due to other things I had asked about checking in early and GUARANTEED that it would be okay and ready. She was like a broken record. Finally, another front desk agent (the only one the entire time that was helpful) Ragina, helped us and said yes, she had made sure it was ready. I should add that this first night was my bachelorette party and my fiancee at the time was staying elsewhere. I lost my key and when I went to the FD I was told that I was not on the reservation. Really?? They don't have on my reservation, that I am having my WEDDING there?? The first night we stayed in a regular room, and the next day we moved to a suite, again at check in, was told it would be ready. We asked them if it was the one she had showed us with the view we had discussed and were promptly informed that it was not, and that the one we had viewed was not available. The assistant front desk manager, Ashley was absolutely unhelpful and condescending. These are the people they employ as managers?? She moved us to another suite and had the bellman come up to help. We entered the suite and it was nice, however, NOT (again) what we had been told it was. This suite had large parlor room that was connected to their regular, double bedded(wedding suite... double beds??)room, with a very small bathroom. If I had stayed the weekend any other time, this would be fine, not ideal, but okay, but this wasn't just any weekend. The parlor had no mirrors and literally ONE plug in. This would not work. At this point I had tried to contact anyone that would help and kept getting the same answer. (All of our suites are fully committed) Incredibly annoying. FINALLY, the manager was there and got involved. He was very nice, and understanding and said he would take a look at the inventory and withing20 min we were in the suite we had been promised. We spent from 11am to 3pm dealing with this the day before our wedding.
During the reception I noticed that the food was not what we chose at the tasting. I wish I had pictures to show you the Lobster Bisque. At the tasting it was amazing, and it looked as a normal bisque soup would, with the creaminess you can see. The soup we were given was thin and looked like some sort of stock, not to mention was gross. I was embarrassed! I told my coordinator immediately and she came out and apologized and said she would definitely follow up with the chef. The sides they put with our dinners were also not what we chose, which was confusing, considering I thought that was what the tasting was about? They were edible tho, which was a huge step up from the soup.
After everything was over, I was contacted by the Director of Food and Beverage. He was a nice guy but really didn't seem to get the magnitude of my disappointment. He offered us a two night stay(in a regular room) with a dinner and two breakfast included. We have yet to receive the voucher or an email from our coordinator like I was promised, not that its very surprising at this point. I also do not believe this really covered the issues we had. This was a complete hassle from the beginning and I would never recommend their venue. Don't waste your time!!

This place is way over rated. Very hard to walk to town. The pool side and beach side dining was pretty skimpy, but priced like the Ritz. My wife and I got nothing for our dollar from all the big deal service. Unless you live with a butler in your home, skip this place. Stay somewhere near the beach and save your funds for dinner out.

We got an amazing deal on a room at "The Don" for our honeymoon - the service was absolutely impeccable, everything was just perfect. We plan to go back for our anniversary!

I stayed here and was treated like a queen. The pool area is the best on the beach. It is so close to the ocean you can spend the day at both with out moving your chair. The lounge chairs are so comfortable. The food and drinks are a little pricey but the experience is amazing.

The Don Cesar is first class all of the way. Valet parking, a variety of restaurants. I prefer the buffet on the top floor, I think its the 5th floor. Wonderful Buffet lunch with ice sculptures & cherries jubilee. The assortment of food and the quality of food was excellent. Just superb! Desserts oh and more desserts. They have chefs right there on staff to make omlettes and pasta dishes. The staff were overly attentive. It is first class all the way and what a view! I could see the Gulf where I was sitting. Just breathtaking. The architecture in that place is stunning. Very classy I can't say enough about it. They have this great icecream parlor downstairs. Shops and you can step out under the ceiling fans outside and have an icetea or whatever and enjoy the view from there as well.
If you can't afford to stay there; atleast go for the dining experience. The Don Is First Call all of the way!

This is the best resort in the area. It is highly renowned for its location, rooms, value, and professionalism. It is right on St Pete beach where the sunsets are amazing. The rooms are top of the line. If you are looking for a vacation....or just a place to stay on the beach, you can't go wrong here!

This is one of my favorite places for champaigne Sunday Brunch.
The food goes on forever and the service is excellent. I always make sure I go here when in Florida. The food and service are always on the A list and the views of the Gulf are excellent.
Bill Clinton dined here. If it's good enough for a President, it's good enough for me!!!
Tip: Save room for dessert. They make everything fresh, in front of you.

It was ok but certainly not as good as I had expected given the facility and the cost.
