Food was fair, nothing special, service OK, price OK. All pretty mediocre. Sunday night, Salsa club upstairs with live band playing hot latin music, Elvis Crespo, etc. Wife and I finished dinner and wanted to go up and dance a little, but there was a cover charge. Asked the owner if we had to pay the cover since we had dinner at his restaurant and he said we did. I asked him why and he said "I had to pay $800 for the band". I said we wouldn't ever come back to his restaurant and he said that was OK. This wasn't a trick question; we are not paying, and he can either let us go up and earn goodwill, or refuse and earn bad will. I congratulated him on having so much business that he could do something like this in today's economy. In short, he was a stupid jerk. There are too many good restaurants in Armand's circle, Lido Key, to patronize this one.

Pros: None to speak of

Cons: Less than good food and service, owner is a jerk

The food is medium quality with a friendly, efficient wait staff. Service is fast so a quick stop for lunch works during a hectic week. Take out is also available.

We were recently at this restaurant to celebrate an event and were given a table that was right in the middle of waiter/kitchen traffic (when the entire restaurant was empty) - go figure. But that was not what was so bad about this place. We ordered many appetizers and entrees and they all stunk.

The food here is just terrible - totally bland, no taste and everything is so dry! Why? The calamari is so-so, not bad but not great. The penne w/ meat sauce - stay away it as the penne is so chalky and the meat sauce I can get out of a jar. The spaghetti with shrimp at $25/plate you would think it would be delicious and moist and again it was SO dry! Everything was just so unappetizing and for $200+ we expected way more.

The waiter is a whole other story... took away dishes without asking, didn't bring the bread, was abrupt and rushed us through his "specials" speech and was just downright annoying and not hospitable. Plus the restaurant may have been having issues with the A/C as it was darn HOT!

Overall, for the price and hype I give this place a big fat D- and NOT RECOMMENDED. Especially, if you're trying to have a romantic and fun evening - skip this place as it is neither and a complete rip-off. HATED IT.

Enjoyed our time and dining experience; however, the dinner was rushed as we didn't get through our appetizer before the server was whisking it away to bring our entree. Food was excellent (very large portions - enough to take home the extra!) Lasagne was very tasty and creamy. Veal was tender and tasty! Ordered the cannoli for dessert, it was dry, no taste. We must be used to the authentic we get in NYC. Recommend you order anything other than the cannoli !! Overall, we did enjoy ourselves as it is a great restaurant for couples. After eating indoors, they moved us to the outdoors where we enjoyed espresso, sambuca, and a good cigar for myself. Overall - recommend.
