Over the years I've purchased 3 cars from Thomas Motors. They always were always very helpful and handled the purchase professionally. I must say they also had the best service department that I've ever been to. You could call and they would say can you come now, other dealers always wanted to set an appointment date with me which might not be for a week.

Thomas Motor Cars takes advantage of buyers - particularly minorities - who are not knowledgable about purchasing cars.

On May 1, 2007 we purchased a new Jeep Compass from Thomas Motor Cars in Quincy, Florida.

Before we picked up the car, the Finance Director applied with a number of different credit companies. Once the Financing was approved, we picked up the car and drove it home.

Later that week, we received a call from the Finance Director. He initially contacted a family friend of ours even though he had been corresponding with me via email and contacting me at my home and office. He reported that he had made an 'honest mistake' on my paperwork (despite the fact that it was a signed contract) with regard to financing. He said that it was a "Finance Charge" called a "Discount Rate." It was $1,000.00 that he had forgotten to add in - a cost the Finance Company was charging him. We later learned that this was not the truth at all!

He said he would send his salesperson to deliver a new contract immediately that day.

I was very busy at work and could not meet the salesperson that day. When I contacted him to discuss when we could meet, he said "I don't know anything about this, all I know is I'm supposed to deliver this paperwork."

Bottom line: the Finance Director began calling every available number at my workplace - including those I did not provide. He left the voice message (which I still have) that said: "Come and sign the new paperwork or we will come and get the car. Your financing is not in place."

Based on this, went to Quincey and signed new paperwork, - which added $1,000.00 onto sales price of the car and increased my payements by about $30 a month. We later learned from the Finance Company (we have the documentation) that our loaned had been approved the FIRST DAY (May 1). Our financing was not in jeopardy at all!

In addition, our inital sales price was based on a vehicle with a larger gas tank and other amenities. When I requested a specific colour, the salesman was very amicable and found the car I requested. It did not have all the amenities, yet the price of the car did not change. In fact, we were not told that it did not have the extras and we did not find out until we had the vehicle in our possession. We ended up paying one thousand extra and uneccesary dollar for a lesser vehicle.

In addition, they did not go over the Sales Contract with us and specifically the "Arbitration Agreement. There were other blunders but the bottom line is: unless you want to be scammed - go to another dealer.

Thomas Motor Cars has been in business for over 35 years. They sell Pontiacs and GMCs and offer a large variety of used cars. They frequently go to auction so if you are looking for a specific vehicle, they will do their best to find it for you. Service is excellent, and the staff is courteous and professional. It is a smaller dealership, so you will get the attention you deserve. They want people to be 100% satisfied and they will do their best to ensure that customers leave happy. This is a highly recommended place to buy or service a car or truck.
